Schoolhouse Rocks

Very cute, clean and spacious rooms in the schoolhouse. The beds was comfortable also nice having washer and dryer in the hall. Definitely a hidden gem with lots to do just a few miles away.

Great space— we enjoyed the uniqueness of the refurbished school. Quiet town, very clean space. Host was readily accessible and check-in was smooth. Excellent solution to high rates of Mackinac rates. Highly recommend!

Amazing place that it is quiet n close to other areas to visit as well..when i say "just" right i mean it. .perfect for us n even our littl dog felt comfortable..our 2 day stay was a refreshing n relaxing..to describe all its quality wouldnt do its justice as need to experience it...n such a reasobable price for rental.thank you for the best stay of our road trip.

Little Gem in Levering

Stayed a couple of days last week and even tho it's off-season and quite a few places were closed plus there was still some storm damage in the area, we had a nice, relaxing time. We visited nearby Harbour Springs and St.Ignace and discovered some great places to eat and will definitely be coming back. The property is centrally located when I contacted the host about a couple of issues I had, they resolved them promptly and chked with me afterwards to see if everything was ok. Fantastic hosts and great property.

Clean, spacious and unique! Strong, unpleasant hard water smell. Bathroom needs work-very small sink with no counter space-small mirror with damage/scratches. Beds smaller and not super comfy.

Perfect location for exploring the Upper Peninisula

Within a two hour radius of this property, you can visit many interesting and beautiful sites. The property description and pictures are spot on. It was cold while we were there and we feared that the school house would be drafty. No worries --- we were very comfortable inside and didn't notice the need for jackets until walking out the front door. I would not hesitate to recommend this property to anyone.

Beautiful place to stay for a Mackinac trip!

This place was just like the pictures for once, it had such a cool old schoolhouse feel and was so well decorated. Will definitely rent again for next trip!

Perfect for quick getaway

Very nice, quiet, and clean place to spend a night during our fall color tour of N.Michigan. Host was very responsive to our questions and issues both prior to and during our stay. Will definitely keep this on our list of spots to stay.

Comfortable little gem

This was a great place to stay. Far enough away from the hustle of town but close enough to get there quickly. Our room was a very comfortable and open space. Very much enjoyed my stay.

Cute and Convenient

The listing is accurate and the check-in process was very easy. We did not need to contact Bob and Sissi about anything during our stay, but the communication leading up to our stay was timely and informative. Conveniently located close to Mackinaw City.

Very accommodating

Enjoyed our weekend getaway to Mackinaw. The location of our rental was so convenient. Our room was so clean and had all the necessities. We were even able to bring our dog. Everyone was so nice! We will definitely be back!

Feels like home

This place was fantastic! The pictures do not do it justice. Quiet, charming, safe neighborhood tons to do close by but away from the hustle and bustle of the city. This place was stocked with everything we needed. The fresh, clean bedding smelled amazing and the towels were soft, plush and smelled great as well! We had the best time and will definitely stay here again in the future! Loved reading the notes in the guestbook!

weekend at Mackinaw Island

everything was nice and fresh looked like we were the first to stay in the B space. it was comfortable and relaxing the 2 things that were missing a butcher knife and ice cube trays would have completed my needs i will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends

Peace and quiet

We loved our stay and the school house was beautiful.. I was looking for a peaceful vacation and I got exactly that! Our room was perfect and super clean! They definitely take pride in making sure you’re comfortable. It had everything thing you needed.. The owners were on site during our stay & they were both super kind! We are planning on coming back in the fall! I loved it here!

Such a vibe

It’s in an old school house from the early 1900s. They did such a good job. There is 3 other apartments there. They had everything ready and clean. Great communication. Will go back again. Love what they did with the place. Book it now!

Nice place

The place was certainly unique! A couple things to note - the room has high ceilings and thin walls - everything echoes and you can year everything that's going on in the next room. Also, the room wasn't quite clean, there was dog hair on the comforters, and human hair on the pillow and sheets. I don't think the sheets were changed.

Late summer get away

This is a very unique property. You can feel the history. Well put together, and furnished. We had one little glitch. While we were away for the day, the temperature of the apartment raised uncomfortably warm, 76 degrees. But when we contacted our host, they quickly reset the heat pump and lowered the temperature.

Very Comfortable and cozy apt.

We loved the old classroom surroundings! It was very nicely appointed with what surly was Estate sale furniture and bricabrac. Nicely stocked with the basic essentials to keep and heat up food (no stovetop). Plates, cups, silverware, utensils, wineglasses, etc. very roomy. TV might take little figuring out. We got help from the on-site concierge! plenty of parking and laundry too! The best price we could find in that expensive resort area. The neighborhood is older, but I felt safe. (Northern MI, after all) 100% recommend!

I love how peaceful and quiet this area is and nature all around. Several lakes are just a short drive away, the Mighty Mac still takes my breath away when I cross over to the UP. Ferries to Mackinaw Island are only a 15 minute drive.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

I pride myself in keeping it extremely clean and took a lot of care & time to find displayed art pieces as well as furniture. An additional bonus is the setting of the building - an almost 100 year old school house - will transfer you back in time. It has a really good feel about it as you enter the big hallway with the chandeliers. The school bell still works and is as loud and shrill as you remember, if you are of my generation!!! ;-)) You can see the hole in the wall to the right of the main entry door as you come in, where the rope to ring the bell outside came through the thick walls. A truly unique and authentic experience for sure. We kept the blackboard on the walls in each unit as well to enhance your experience!
