Quiet waterfront cottage on a canal leading to Pickerel Lake. Open year round and sleeps up to 8 with a nice bunk bedroom that includes ping pong and other games. Waterfront deck with propane gas grill, table and seating area is perfect for the family who loves the outdoors. Comes with your own small boat/kayak launch on a quiet channel that goes directly out to four beautiful, inter-connected lakes. There are 2 adult kayaks, 1 child kayak and 2 paddle boards for your private use during your stay. There is also a wood fired hot tub that can be used as a cold plunge tub(during warmer months) for the more adventurous types.

Note that you will be sent our rental agreement once you book your stay.

Please note there is a max of 2 dogs allowed with a pet fee per dog. ONLY DOGS ALLOWED, NO OTHER PETS, OF ANY KIND ALLOWED.

This is a great place to stay. On a canal just off the lake which is great because you get all the benefits of lake access without all the noise off the water. The house has everything you need for your stay both indoors and outdoors.

Very clean. Easy to communicate with host. Wish we had a toaster. But otherwise stocked well. Roads hard to find in the dark.

Respite on the Lake

We had an amazing time at this little house on the lake. It easily held our family of 7, plus our sweet golden retriever. We all had so much fun kayaking around the lakes (pup included), lounging in the yard and relaxing in the house.

We had all the comforts of home, with water access. The lake was beautiful, we really enjoyed getting out on the provided water boards, and kayaks. We got to see the swans 3 mini swans parade by in the morning.

The positive items were the location for us to Newaygo downtown and the golf course was great. It was a quiet location and the lake was pretty. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the evening. Mike was very responsive. We had 3 couples staying and we each had one towel each and were short a few wash rags. We stayed 3 nights so an additional towel each would have been nice. We did cook while we were there and had only one dish towel so again an additional towel or two would have been convenient. I would suggest that adding blinds in the living room would be nice so guests could close them at night since there are other homes nearby. The TV was maybe a 30 inch so really small! The lake was nice but could be so nice if a dock was built or if the access into the water was cleaned up. The shower needs cleaned up or replaced due to the mold on the caulk. The house could use a deep clean as well. We have stayed at many vrbos and I felt this one was overpriced but if the owners were to put more effort into it it could be really nice.

We enjoyed our stay. It was located across the street from family so location was great. Canal not great but used the lake. Should clean up weeds and exterior of house. Shower could use mold and mildew cleaner around bottom.

Was what we were looking for

House was clean, ready for us. Driveway is kind of annoying but the house was as advertised and what we needed. Owner communicated and made sure we were set.

So, no need to haul them from home to enjoy the water. Our wood fired hot tub can be used as a cold plunge tub for a more stimulating experience. There is a small private boat launch on the property if you decide to bring a small boat. Lots of room on the deck to grill, eat, and hang out. Ping pong table in the bunk bedroom for indoor fun. Come enjoy the beautiful views!
