Nice Place- Nice Host

Everything was as described except no all amenities in the park were opened yet for the season. The host was very responsive to all our needs, requests and questions. It is located in a very quiet corner of the park with lots of space, but very close to everything. The children loved the playground. The people living in the area were very friendly and helpful. We would consider going back again.

Scratch Pad is great!

Had a wonderful time in this cozy cottage with lots of space, and a fantastic front porch to enjoy the beautiful evenings.

Scratch Pad Review

Property is on a quiet corner of Thousand Island Park and was very relaxing. The tennis court nearby provided entertainment for players and onlookers alike. The house was well stocked and fans were in every room which was appreciated. Water was nice and hot and all the appliances worked. Matt was friendly and greeted us promptly. Would definitely return!

Short 4 day stay

The property was as listed. Communication with the owner was great and he made himself available all the time. I brought my boat with me to tour the river. I had access to his dock with my 24' boat.

The perfect long weekend retreat!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Scratchpad! It was the perfect location and accommodations for our Labor Day mini vacation! Matt was available nearby for all our needs and we especially enjoyed his knowledge of the area and anecdotal stories about the property’s history. The listing was accurate and we were pleased with our choice of this rental.

A great week all around in TIP

We loved staying at Scratchpad. It was the perfect house for our family of 8. From the porch to the outdoor grassy area, we found plenty of space for recreation: pickle ball, corn hole, bocce, etc. The house was comfortable and had everything we needed! Beds were comfortable and each room had plenty of fans. Matt gave us some great suggestions about dinner and things to do in the area. He is down to earth and willing to help with any issues. We want to come back in 2019!

Scratch Pad - Charming and comfortable cottage

Our family group gathered for a week and thoroughly enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere of the island. The cottage was perfectly located, close to everything we needed. There was plenty of room for everyone to spread out. The wrap around porch was great for lounging and enjoying the ambiance. The kitchen was well stocked with everything needed. It was great having the washer and dryer to avoid hauling lots of dirty laundry back home. Matt was very welcoming on our arrival and advised us of local attractions that we should take in. Everyone we met on the island were so friendly and shared the history and unique features of this charming place. And everyone knew Scratch Pad! Seems like we shared a piece of history for that week and we will definitely be back again.

Great Week at the Scratch Pad

We really enjoy our stay at the cottage. Great location for relaxing at the River. Kitchen was fully equipped with all you needed. The location was great being close to the cove for swimming and having some tennis courts right across the street. A lot of room for grandchildren to play. Very quiet at all the times of the day. Very clean and it was a bless to have a washer and dryer. That upstairs loft was great for the grandchildren who loved it and there parents joined them for a few nights. We enjoy the wrap around porch and spent plenty of time sitting on it and enjoying the great weather. We are look forward to renting it again next summer.

Perfect for kids AND adults!

My family - now grown and dispersed - loves the Thousand Islands and misses our regular forays there. Scratch Pad was the perfect place to gather again for a fabulous two weeks. The description is exactly right and helped convince us this would be a great place for little kids - the open field across the "street" was the site of ad hoc softball games; the swimming hole, playground, pavilion, and ice cream shop were the perfect distance away; the tennis courts were a great place for a little practice; the golf course was so close; the neighbors weren't right on top of us; and the layout of the house was perfect for the variety of families with kids and babies of various ages. The porch swing was a great favorite for all and we ended up eating most meals on the deck. Oh, and the hose bib in the front yard provided great fun for the little boys! The large number of fans were greatly appreciated and came in very handy during the 90+ degree days! Also, the boat slip that can be rented is absolutely protected and very accessible. The only little problem we had was with the refrigerator but Matt and his wife responded quickly to provide us with coolers and advice until he was able to make sure it was working properly. We had a GREAT time and loved Scratch Pad.

Nice, Charming and Quiet Cottage

Very nice cottage, well maintained, clean and close to the lake. Though it was hot, but the owner has provided us with so many fans which helped us very much. The 2nd floor attic had so many beds. Our kids enjoyed the library reading books and watching the DVDs. Our parents enjoyed the porch. Would defnitely come back to this cottage if given a chance.

Wonderful family retreat

What a great way to jump start Summer 2013! This charming cottage was everything we hoped for and had a large play area and tennis court across the street. Our grand kids loved the 2nd floor "dorm" and it easily accommodated our group of 10, including enough seating on the sectional sofa. Easy walking distance to The Guzzle and the beach. If you don't feel like walking, rent a golf cart located near the hotel. Thanks so much, Matt.
