Great place to bring a family. A side from the days being hot the house was awesome. Washer and dryer were superb!!!!

Had a very good stay in Fort Garland. Very spacious and comfortable. The house met expectations based on descriptions but could use a few minor updates, for instance, the downstairs bathroom had a handheld shower head but no way to hang it to wash your hair with two hands and the spout wasnt fully attached. Nice spot for a larger group close the the NP.

Very nice property close to Great Sand Dunes. Beds were comfy and we slept great. Listing says AC but it's really just a swamp cooler in the window in the main living area.

Nice place, plenty of space, clean, well stocked, loved the shower. Great location for visiting great sand dunes and other area activities.

What a gem of a find! If you have a family and are traveling to/from the Dunes, THIS is the place to stay. Come prepared with your own food though. Not many choices in Fort Garland itself. Plenty of choices about 20-30 minutes away though. Oh … and possibly the best shower of my life!

Clean, pleasant, and spacious

The house was spacious and offered us exactly what we needed with its proximity to Great Sand Dunes National Park. If you’re headed there and with a large group (or you just need a lot of space), I’d recommend it.

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay! We had a baby shower to attend in San Luis and the one hotel was sold out in town so I happened to check VRBO for a place to stay close by and this property popped up as available for the one night we needed! Check in was easy, communcation with property owner was always fast and easy. The property was clean and roomy! Had all the ameneties needed to make us feel comfortable and at home. Will definitely stay again in the future!

Family Travel

We had to travel due to a private family matter but was very pleased with the property which allowed us some ease during a difficult time. The home was very nice and inviting. The spaciousness of the area and amount of bedding made it comfortable to travel and stay with a large family/group. With the location being right off the highway and just a few blocks down from local restaurants made it convenient for our stay. The host was great and answered our emails quickly. My family and I would stay there again as well recommended it to others we know.

Great for families

The house has 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms (1 shower), a really well equipped kitchen, a nice dining room and living room. Very convenient for a large family. Drive to Great Sand Dunes is about 30 minutes. Ft. Garland is tiny so for anything beyond very basic groceries you will want to drive to Alamosa. The host was very responsive and everything was clean and as advertised. I would recommend it!

Spacious house with mountain views near Great Sand Dunes National Park. The town is tiny but not terribly far from larger towns with more amenities. We really enjoyed the space to spread out and proximity to the dunes. The house had large appliances and spacious kitchen and plenty of hot water. The gas range especially was a pleasure to use. Beds were comfy. When the ice maker appeared to have quit working, Eric kindly dropped off some ice trays for our use. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely try to stay again when in the area.

We chose this property for its proximity to Great Sand Dunes National Park, relying on the Expedia listing that promised A/C and a washer/dryer. Unfortunately, the house was very hot upon arrival, and the washer was broken. We had two main issues: Broken Washer: The washer was the primary reason we rented a house instead of a hotel. The owner later revealed a previous guest broke it, and they were unable to fix it. However, they failed to warn us in advance so we could make other laundry arrangements. Inadequate A/C: The property does not have central air. A single window unit in the kitchen cooled the living area, but left the four bedrooms stifling. When we asked for additional fans for the bedrooms, the owner stopped replying. On the positive side, the house did finally cool down at night, so we were able to sleep better than we thought we would.However, while I understand that maintenance issues happen, failing to warn guests in advance and ignoring messages for basic supplies is unacceptable. We will not stay here again.
