We fell so in love with the excellent bones and magnificent property of this huge corner lot that we seriously considered offering to buy it! The potential is truly amazing—with updates, they could easily charge the same as upscale luxury rentals. Right now, it's just a diamond in the rough. We would absolutely rent it again in a heartbeat if improvements are made.The grounds are excellent, and watching the sunrise in the morning is wonderful. We also absolutely loved the local town store! However, the house is currently suffocating under too much old, crusty, dark furniture. Stripping out the excess pieces and painting the rest into a bright, coastal lake style would completely transform the vibe. We also highly recommend removing the glass room shutters to let in the natural light.Inside, the climate was a major issue. The house gets extremely hot and unbearable; the owner desperately needs to buy a separate AC unit. Plumbing was also a problem: the upstairs bathroom flooded during our stay, and the active mold alongside peeling, moldy wallpaper in the bathrooms were bad and need professional remediation.While the home was fairly clean overall, the outdoor amenities are heavily lacking. There is no sitting area on the deck, so we were forced to sit outside in the garage to get fresh air. The dock light didn't work, there was no dock furniture or place to lay out, and the kayaks were missing. It’s also missing some seating on the point, which would be an incredible spot for morning yoga if a small area was cleared.On the service side, the manager was great and immediately fixed a completely caked-on BBQ for us. This sleeping giant could be a premier top-tier rental if the owner resolves the AC, plumbing, mold, and outdoor furniture. Until then, you are paying for an unbeatable location paired with a heavily strained interior.
