Beautiful Sunsets at the Lake Camp

We have given the camp a new lease on life with a rustic modern charm. It was completely renovated in 2016. It is the perfect place for a romantic getaway or a family vacation. This house has plenty of lake frontage, a dock and a hoist. There is a patio for dining and a campfire pit. There is a bunkhouse that has 2 twin cots. This home provides kitchen, dining and living room, bathroom, one queen bed, one full bed, 2 twin cots (bunk quarters), covered porch picnic area, washer and dryer. There is a yard for tents (you must bring). The camp is located 3.5 miles down a 12-foot wide private road with little traffic. The camp is near the end of a dead end lake road. The road is very family friendly and is a great place to walk, jog, or ride bicycles. There is plenty of parking! Enjoy the sunsets and evenings around a campfire. At the camp there is a row boat and a paddle boat for use! A pet friendly camp.
Long Point State Park is 5 miles north of the property. Bright-Leaf winery is 1.5 mile walk or 6.5 mile drive. The town of Aurora is a quaint place a mile beyond Long Point. The town features Mackenzie Childs, the Fargo Bar and Grill, Well's College, and the Aurora Inn. The closest cities are Ithaca and Auburn, NY (approximately 45 minutes away). The Finger Lakes area is known for their winery and cheese trails, plan a day trip to stop at a few! The DeLago Casino is 40 minutes away.

Boat hoist available from memorial to Labor Day. Check with owners about size of boat restrictions. No pontoons. If you bring your boat Owner has off site parking if you need it. We do not recommend driving your boat and trailer down the road (12-foot right-of-way).

Very well appointed. Provided more than I was expecting in the way of toilet paper, paper towels, etc. Property was homey and inviting. Beds were comfortable.

Thank you for the review, was there anything else? The private road ( I own a 110 ft piece) and is listed in my advertisement. The road is repaired by the Road Association. It is a private road ( my section is paved). There are over 100 parcels on the lake front, each privately owned and bad areas managed by the Association. In addition, this was rented pre-season (spring), I take this (road) in consideration for the rate. In addition with the 3.5 mile ride, 50% paved by single owners. The other areas are stone/gravel/dirt. We have had a significant amount of rain this year, not much one can do about the rain), thus the gravel areas have developed pot holes from the rain. It is a 10 mph road or less and is passable, ability to avoid the potholes, when abiding to the speed limit. Unfortunately, this is out of my control, the Association is aware. Summer is usually better as far as the road but depends on “rain”, and as mentioned must follow the 10 mph or less rule. We hope you enjoyed the house as you did not mention any problems at the camp. Guys fishing trip

The house was clean ,but maybe they could clean the porch off because that's where the guys spent most of their time when they weren't fishing, carpet bad on porch. Overall they had a great stay caught lots of fish and booked it for next year.

Thank you for your review. We plan to replace the carpet on the steps. Glad they were able to use the hoist and catch fish! The throw rug is an indoor/outdoor carpet, the porch is just a roof over a cement pad. Helpful if rainy.

Beautiful relaxing vacation

Everything about this trip was seamless, easy & relaxing. The camp was perfect fit for my husband and I. The lakeview is breathtaking, easy to lose time sitting outside drinking coffee and reading a book. The property owner is quick with communication, and friendly to work with. We brought all our groceries and made use of the grill and kitchen, which has everything you can need to make a meal. I recommend doing the same if you plan to just relax. We would definitely stay again. Thank you for everything!

Cayuga Lake Dream

This Honoco Rd lake camp was ideal. The beds and pillows Sooo comfy , the kitchen bath and living area were just right ! Absolutely Stunning sunset views , the outside space is wonderful with picnic table for dining and covered patio for gathering , below the lovely hostas and flowers is another concrete area for sunbathing and steps to the water off of the long dock. It is peaceful , private and just perfect , I did not want to leave . Christina was always attentive and responded within minutes to answer any questions . I give it 10 stars !! J.Maggos

First of all, the owners are very kind and the neighbors in the surrounding houses were all very friendly. The owners live next door if that's something you do not prefer. Essentially you get what you pay for. I was just looking for access to the water and that's what I got. At this price per night I wasn't expecting much and it pretty much lined up with what I expected. If you don't like spiders, this rental is not for you. Everything is essentially a hand me down. The unit could use a deep clean and a coat of paint, but hey the price was right. Christina went out of her way to make me feel welcome. The location is a bit of an inconvenience. Don't expect to easily leave once you are there. If you want to go out and about exploring every day, this isn't the rental for you. It takes roughly 22 minutes to get off the private road which is 10mph. The quickest round trip anywhere will take you an hour. Being near the end of a private road is a blessing and a curse. It was very quiet, but a small pain. I had no intention to leave so it was fine for me.All in all, I enjoyed my visit. Just wish there were less cobwebs.

Great place once you get there!

I have absolutely no complaints about the property. It was immaculately clean, warm and very welcoming. You cannot beat the location right on the lake. The added features of the Paddle Boat and Kayaks is enticing. I only have 1 negative thing to say. The property is down on a private road, which it seems like this is the only property on the private road. NO, there are hundreds of other houses on this dirt road and you pass before you get to it. I wish I had known about this before I signed up for staying. Christina is a GREAT host none the less!!!

September visit

Nice getaway. Disappointed we didn’t know it wasn’t recommended to leave in the water after Labor Day and we went end of September. Whole purpose of trip was to go out on boat. 25 minute drive out the road was inconvenient to put boat in and out even though hostess had a place to keep boat. But we had a great time and enjoyed the beautiful view and covered patio and fire pit.

Thank you for staying. Renters are able to us hoist Memorial thru Labor Day. Water level permitting. Must contact owners about size and type of boat ( no pontoons). The benefits of being 3.5 miles down a 4 mile dead end private road is privacy. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.

Lakeside Retreat

It was a wonderful retreat with beautiful views all day (sunsets were amazing!). We stayed at the property for the entire weekend due to the 3.5 miles of 10 mph dirt road and really enjoyed the water and views from the patio. It is a nice walking area as well - a good distance and some great fossils at the bottom of the cliffs.

Lake house

We had a great time during our stay. The owners were amazingly helpful and informative. Hard to get any closer to the lake, great waterfront property.

Location, location, location

We had a wonderful time on the lake. You couldn’t get closer without being in it! Views were wonderful. Evenings sitting outside enjoying the sunsets we’re so relaxing. The bed was comfortable and the kitchen was well equipped. We certainly had everything we needed to make our stay very relaxing. Wifi worked well when needed and tv reception was great except for the last night when a major storm took out the internet. We went to sleep listening to the rain - hard to beat!

Peaceful

It was a very peaceful stay. I enjoyed getting up drinking coffee watching the sunrise over the lake. Much needed quiet and relaxing time.

Truly lovely!

Really gorgeous little home that is well furnished, comfortable, and the waterfront location can’t be beat! It was the perfect spot for a quarantine getaway. That 10mph is no joke though, so we didn’t do a lot of driving in the area, but we had everything we needed at home. Really kind and thoughtful host too! Would stay again!

If you have/obtain a fishing a license feel free to fish off the dock or take out the row boat. The entire property is free for you to roam. You will have access to the house, dock, lake and bunkhouse! The hoist is covered and accommodate boats up to 20 ft. The sunsets are priceless!
