This is an exciting change from average hotel rooms. More camp-like, with cabins. There is a common house with shared spaces like 2 bathrooms and a large kitchen with a living room, including a fireplace. We loved it. We made coffee and enjoyed the chess table, took showers, and perused their small gift shop. They print their own T-shirts and sweatshirts, plus offer books and Vermont maple syrup. The Everest cabin sits a bit higher on the hill overlooking Base Camp. It is private and has a queen-sized bed, a writing table/desk, and a table for 2 with chairs. Lots of books for reading, including Stephen King and Harry Potter. We have recently started the HP series, so it was funny finding them on the shelves. The only issue was that the lights around the Everest cabin did not come on after dark. It was hard to see in the dark on arrival. There were steps to climb to the Everest cabin. Keep that in mind for luggage. Alert: there should be more handrails. Steps to the kitchen and at the Everest cabin porch would add a measure of safety. Thanks for the great experience.
