The property is a 2 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, 2 half bathroom comfortable town house located in the beautiful, historic town of Lewes, DE in the popular Henlopen Gardens. It has Wi-Fi, a patio, and a grill, along with several other amenities to make your vacation stay very comfortable. Lewes has a lot of charm and character. Enjoy strolling through the unique shops, museums, breweries and restaurants Historic Lewes has to offer. Great house with everything you need. Not walking distance to the beach but just plan for it. Just an fyi we didnt find a regular coffee maker, they had the K-cup style if you have those. Would recommend this place to stay.

Very nice place to rent. Clean and close by to many activities that I was interested in doing.

Property was very neat and clean and decorated by someone with very good taste in paint colors and wall hangings and furnishings. Kitchen was easy to work in and dining area was a nice size and so were the bedrooms. Very quite the week we stayed. Close drive to downtown Lewes and the beaches. Lovely sized living room also.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay

Very clean and welcoming vacation destination. Neighborhood was very quiet and safe. Short drive to the beach, shopping, and amazing dining locations.

Great Stay

We really enjoyed staying for 10 days at this property, there were 6 of us. There were plenty of space for everyone to relax without feeling cramped. Having a rollaway cot was a plus for that extra person. We hope to stay here again one day.

Great location

We had a great time. It was very convenient location wise. My only complaint is it is listed on vrbo as a 2 bedroom 2.5 bath unit. There is a half bath on the first floor. On the second floor it is not 2 full baths. It is 2 half baths both connecting to the same room with one tub/shower. It worked out fine but it is not what we signed up for. Other than that it was a great unit.

Lewes vacation condo

We’ve stayed in this complex (Henlopen Gardens) in the past. The location is so convenient to the areas we like to frequent. This is just an fyi, there is an ant problem at the kitchen window, they then spill onto the kitchen counter and sink area. Just so you are aware. I believe the ants preceded our arrival. I didn’t cook. We will definitely look at renting here in the future. We are hoping to return again late summer to early fall.

Mostly great, but a few issues.

This is the mostly nicely equipped beach house we've ever stayed at, and thanks to our host! Some other reviewers have mentioned the ant problem in the kitchen. I get it, ants can be really hard to control, especially at the beach, but there needs to be a little more effort here. There is caulking missing from the kitchen counter that allows them to come in freely. The older appliances shouldn't be a problem per se -- our repairman told us point-blank to keep our older appliances as long as possible as newer ones are built more shoddily, and his advice has proven very accurate -- but the burners on the electric stove are uneven. One wasn't even working till I adjusted it. The microwave oven doesn't have a turntable, and the coffee maker doesn't have an automatic shutoff. Also, instructions about the recycling and the spigots in the rear of the house would have been helpful. Were they usable? We couldn't tell, which made cleaning the grill a bit challenging. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house to another renter, with those provisos.

A quiet enclave

We stayed from Friday May 24 until Monday 27, 2019. The place was very easy to find, right off Route 9 that leads to the Ferry... that makes it incredibly convenient to the bike network of trails, and the entrance to Cape Henlopen State Park, our favorite destination in Lewes. We were glad to discover it really tucked away from traffic, private and tranquil, yet in a central location. Super clean, charming "beachy" décor.. and on the second night we caught ourselves saying "time to go home". We could not be happier about our choice, and will consider coming back to this unit when we plan future extended weekends in Lewes. Herve & Marlene

The place was neat and clean but dated. Had lots of amenities (washer/dryer, dish washer lots of kitchen supplies to cook with). Close to beach, shops and movies. Need curtains on sliding glass doors and beach chairs would have been nice.

A surprisingly nice spot close to the beach!

Most of the properties we get thru Homeaway are privately owned, not managed by a company such as this, and some of the interaction with the company left me a bit worried. But upon arrival at the house we were pleasantly surprised. The place, tho dated in some of the decor, was perfect for the wife and I and our two boys. I was surprised by some of the other commenters regarding the patio. We found it perfect for relaxing after our daily excursions. Maybe they didn't notice that the shed (thru key access) had a table and chairs, plus fishing supplies (poles and tackle), even crabbing supplies which came in handy for our crabbing over Love Creek the next day! The location is just down the street (well, maybe down the road) from Lewes beach, and close to some great places to eat (Mr. P's and the Crooked Hammock). Frankly, I was not expecting much but I think we have our new summer get away for Lewes and plan to stay for a full week next year.

Great for AP at the beach

For anyone attending the AP summer program at Lewes, this place is ideally placed. It is walking distance to Glasgo HS, and a convent drive to downtown and the beach. Accommodations are pleasant and other than issues with the key getting stuck, worked very well.
