Private, rustic cabin. Great communication from hosts. We hiked monument mountain while there. Highly recommend. Takes about 2.5 hours at a leisurely pace

Charming cottage tucked away in the woods with a great screened-in porch and super star gazing. Lots of room and a nicely functional kitchen.

Escape to this eclectic haven nestled among the trees on a unique property complete with its own private pond. Featuring a cool vibe, and a cool furniture collection, it's the perfect scenic retreat. Note: A nearby train passes through day and night with a loud horn, so light sleepers may want to bring earplugs!

Note: The number of trains is random - no set schedule other than Amtrak 2x/day during the day. Sadly I can’t control the safety laws that require they notify crossings of their approach.

Ideal Berkshire Getaway

Cozy, serene and bucolic waterfront hideaway within driving distance of Tanglewood, Shakespeare & Company, Jacob's Pillow and all the wonderful food and cultural Berkshire gems! Julie and Russ were amazing hosts. Great communication and wonderful restaurant and museum suggestions. Definitely planning another long weekend retreat!

Canaan NY

Host communicates well. Beautiful screened in porch. Furniture throughout much nicer than typical VRBO fare. Downside is that nearby freight train line is loud, and it runs regularly night and day.

Quiet cabin in the woods

The cabin was cozy and located in driving distance (10-20 min) to everything we wanted to see. It could have been a little cleaner, but overall it was fine. The back porch is a great place to relax and we enjoyed reading with coffee in the sun room in the morning. The pull out couch is not very comfortable. It’s a traditional sofa bed. Would probably be improved with a mattress topper to cushion it better. I wish there was a binder with instructions, WiFi password, and local recommendations. My dog loved running around the property and it was a great place to go with a pup!

Perfect!

Beautiful cabin in beautiful setting. Cabin was well furnished, had well stocked kitchen, and modern amenities. There were lots of attractions within 30 minute, scenic drives from the cabin such as Tanglewood, Monument Mountain, and other Berkshire and Columbia County attractions. Avid cyclists will find smooth roads with good shoulders and light traffic. As noted n another review, there is a rail line about one mile from the cabin, thus inevitable noise on occasion. It was well worth the trade off for the peace and quiet that otherwise prevailed for 99% of the time. Given its setting, this cabin would be a great destination for foliage season and spring blooms. We will look forward to future returns, as well as recommend it to friends.

It was a perfect getaway spot. Surrounded by wood sends the sounds of nature, beautiful, ponds, outback, and everything you need to recharge for a weekend or a week. Our favorite spot was the screened in back that we spent most of our time reading and just enjoying the sound of rain or birds.

My service dog, Hudson, loved our three days is this beautiful rustic cabin. The house is nestled in 5 acres of woods and has a picturesque pond right overlooking the front patio. My dog relished being off on her own, hunting for chipmunks, communing with nature, and really being a dog. We had a perfect, peaceful 3 days.

We had a wonderful stay! The cabin was even better than the pictures and had everything we needed. It was extremely peaceful.
