The moment you step inside The Cabin in the Pines, you will feel transported to a simpler time and place. The warm glow of the gleaming logs, illuminated with generous lighting and windows, envelops you in comfort and ease. While this cabin has all the conveniences of modern living, it has been painstakingly appointed with authentic antiques and furnishings from days gone by. The Cabin in the Pines has a large open great room, dining room, and fully equipped kitchen downstairs, all accented with a cozy hearthstone gas-log stove. Upstairs are two separate loft bedrooms, one with a full bed and one with a queen-size bed – made up with fresh linens, plenty of pillows, and colorful quilts. A third bedroom with a queen-size bed is downstairs on the main level. On warm, balmy evenings, rock on the old front porch swing and listen to the spring peepers and owls as they tune up for their nightly concert. Or take your meals out on the huge screened-in back porch – complete with a working hammock. The Cabin in the Pines is the perfect getaway for two to six people – with plenty of room to relax, cook in or out, and see firsthand what is so satisfying about living in a real log cabin in the Hills of Brown County. If you want to experience something uniquely different and truly 'get away,' experience something uniquely different and satisfying.
Rural Environment Notice
Our cabins are located in the beautiful woods and countryside of Brown County, Indiana. While we provide routine professional pest control and keep our homes clean and well-maintained, guests may occasionally see seasonal pests such as mice, flies, lady beetles (Asian beetles), or stink bugs — especially in the fall and spring.
These harmless insects are part of life in a rural setting. We do everything possible to minimize their presence and appreciate your understanding as part of the authentic Brown County experience!
Effective July 1, 2025, the county has raised the innkeepers' tax from 5% to 8%.
