Kalae Villa is an ideal private retreat for those seeking the perfect blend of mountain serenity and seaside fun. Nestled in the lush countryside of Hauula, this home offers stunning mountain views while being just a short walk away from a sandy beach. It is undergoing a remodel to be completed in early June. Images are representative but final finishes and decor may vary.

The villa’s layout is intelligently split into two levels, providing both communal gathering spots and private escapes.

• We maintain a clean home with routine pest control, but be aware that island critters (ants, lizards, cockroaches, etc) may be occasionally be seen inside as it is a tropical climate. Wild chickens and roosters make noise and roam the area, sometimes entering into the yard.
• The location pin is approximate but not accurate. This rental is located on the windward (east) shore within walking distance of a sandy beach.
• As of May 2025, Kalae Villas is no longer renting multiple comparable 5br/3ba villas where one rental unit is assigned per booking, and will henceforth rent as only one Villa which has a 6th bedroom added and larger master bathroom in Summer 2026.
* When applicable, a 3% per-transaction payment processing fee is non-refundable.

Gorgeous Private Estate!

We were specifically looking for something walkable to the beach but away from road noise, which is harder to find than you'd think on the east side, where so many rentals sit right along the highway. This place hit the sweet spot: quiet enough that we never heard traffic, but just a short walk to a gorgeous sandy beach. My husband was up early every morning taking in the misty mountain views, which honestly looked like something out of a painting. We had total privacy! No neighbors in sight the entire stay. Oh, and the wild chickens wandering the yard with their tiny baby chicks? Our kids were absolutely obsessed. Checked every box we didn't even know we had.

Peaceful Hauula Estate

The mountain views from this house are stunning! We were specifically not wanting to be next to the highway and were grateful this was set back in a nice neighborhood away from traffic noise. Walking to the beach didn't take long (maybe 5 minutes?) but you do have to cross the main road. The sandy beach was very nice, with several reef-free swim areas. Waves were small enough for even our littlest swimmers. The house is huge and we had it all to ourselves. We appreciated the host kept it well-stocked and organized with generous amount of supplies like soaps, paper towel, etc. It was so peaceful, private, and quiet (albeit occasional distant wild rooster crowing). I would gladly bring my family to this rental again, if we ever return to Oahu.

Great Stay in Hau’ula

We had a wonderful stay at this comfortable home in a beautiful and convenient location! The house was properly supplied and the parking was great. Communication with the property managers was fast and friendly!

Awesome we loved it!

Awesome place and host, we loved our stay. Hale Aha Beach nearby was beautiful and has a fun canal for little ones to swim. It was easy to get to many other beaches along the east coast and north shore. A bit further we enjoyed some local dining at Aloha Shrimp and Original Thai food.

Everything was great, the only hiccup was waiting for the code which was an extenuating circumstance with the storms. Overall we had a great time. The temperature in the house was great, there was enough space for everyone to comfortably be in the house together. We loved that the house was across the street to the beach and the beach was pretty open and not overcrowded. The convenience of the store for simple items was great for last minute items and emergency musubi. We would definitely come back and stay here again!

Hawaii Vacation

House was clean. Process was good. Location on the east side of the island provides a better feel for true Hawaii and avoids the more touristy, commercial areas. I’d stay here again.

This place is magical

We visit Hawaii often and this is one of the nicest houses we have ever stayed in, especially for the price. It is quite and close to the ocean. The house has everything you need, from linens to beach toys. It was very clean and beds are comfy! Our three families had plenty of room to get together. We hope to make this a semiannual trip!

Great stay! Clean and up to date!

This listing was exactly as it appeared on the listing. The house was clean and the furniture was in great condition, and the host was great at responding to questions. Lots of extra bedding and air mattresses. Great beach and a nice hiking trail close by. I'd stay here again.

We had a great time plenty of room! We needed some Extra toilet paper and paper towel and the custodian was right there. Only thing would fix the stairs coming outside of side gate, very dangerous!but really nice house

Lovely home in a great location.

Perfect fit for our extended family. Good assortment of comfortable beds with comfy linens. Kitchen was amply stocked for cooking and eating. Beach towels were provided and appreciated along with coffe pods for the Keurig. Private and secure. We would definitely rent again.

Surprisingly Spacious!!

Brought some of my friends out to show them a glimpse into my life here on island and this place was the perfect hub to come back to at the end of each day. Scenic drive, property is quiet, and the house was the perfect place to unwind. Will be renting again in the future. Thanks uncle

You’ll love it here

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Inside is like new and the a/c units and fans in each room were so nice. We cooked a lot and the kitchen was great. Good gathering room with a large tv. Slept 10 people with a bed to spare. Location is perfect for PCC, North shore beaches and some amazing hikes that you can literally walk to. Boogie boards and beach chairs were also great to have available. Park and beach across the street were fun as well. Host was very helpful. Only negative was some annoying roosters next door that woke us up before we were ready haha. Would stay here again. Great price point compared to some others we were considering.

Spacious home. we loved it!

This was a dream come true for our family vacation! The house is incredibly spacious. Honestly, it felt bigger than our own home! We had so much room to spread out, and everyone could find their own cozy corner to relax in, which made for a very comfortable stay. The layout is perfect for families, with plenty of common areas to gather and enjoy each other’s company. The kitchen had all the appliances to make cooking meals a breeze. We loved having everything we needed at our fingertips. And the location is unbeatable! If you’re looking for a place that combines space, a fully equipped kitchen, and an amazing location, this is it. Thank you to our gracious hosts!

Overall the property was beautiful and in a nice quiet location although i wish it was a better beach right infront of the house but there’s still one very close walking distance. One downfall was the house is separated into two “apartments”. I had 9 people staying in the house and was under the impression everyone would be staying together but there was three rooms upstairs then had to go through the garage downstairs to get to the other two bedrooms which was a bit frustrating since it was not disclosed on anything that was the set up. Communication could have been a little bit better but it wasn’t anything that ruined the trip at all.

Great property, poor communication, no sleep

The property is as described. Accommodated our family of 14 well, clean, beautiful view, good location. However, after checking in, I messaged the host 3 times and never got a response. The neighbor has caged roosters right next to the property line and they crow ALL night. Everyone in our group, regardless of room location in the house, was up all night due to the excessive noise. This made it really hard with kids. I tried to message the host about noise ordinances or even just to let him know about the issue, and never heard back. The lack of sleep made it difficult. Also, water pressure isn’t great, will need to take turns showering with large groups.

Property was very nice and accommodated our large group very well. The house is right off a very busy road, so some times a challenge pulling out from the driveway, but was very nice to have the automatic gate to keep our little ones safe. We did have a few issues that is atypical for other VRBOs we stayed out at. Outside trash cans were completely full when we arrived, there were no extra garbage bags, no extra paper towels and body wash was empty in one bathroom. On the positive side, the property manager was very responsive in addressing the issues when I mentioned them, so that was good. But those are all pretty routine things that the cleaners should take care of I would think. Also, the house is not in Hauula like what is shown in the listing. It’s in Kaaawa, which is about 15 minutes away. We wanted to be close to Laie where we had family, so the 20 minute drive to Laie was disappointing. To be fair, the property manager messaged the address after I booked it, but I didn’t notice it until 2 weeks before the trip and then it was too late. My question is why isn’t it listed with the correct town? For most people it does matter, but for us, it did.

We had a great stay at this home in Oahu. It was perfect for our family of 10. Plenty of space to spread out and the showers had lots of hot water. Two washer and dryers made things super convenient and you could run everything and still have great water pressure! Close to many attractions and less than an hour to the airport. The roosters were no joke though so if you're a light sleeper then beware. Caretaker was friendly, efficient and communicative.
