Come to Destin, Florida and enjoy the sugar-white beaches and emerald-green waters!

We have a 2-story condo that is fully furnished with all the necessary kitchen appliances, towels, linens & blankets. You have a reserved parking spot within steps from your front door and one additional parking, on first-come-first serve.

Our condo is located on the beach side of Highway 98 on a beautiful five-acre freshwater lake of where you can fish right off your deck or gazebo located on the lake. It’s just a five-minute stroll through Southbay's tropical paradise to the sugar-white private beach. We even provide beach toys and a wagon to make things easier to carry. Once at the beach you will be provided with 2 beach chairs and umbrella (March-October). There are two adult and two kiddie pools (one heated...February to Mid-April) within walking distance. You never have to cross a street to get to the beach or pools! Shareable BBQ grills are located on the common grounds for your use. There lighted tennis and pickleball courts, which includes shuffleboard as well. (Shuffleboard equipment is located at the main office).

Our condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 full baths on the first level that were fully renovated (2022). Each bedroom is furnished with a flat-screen TV. The master bedroom includes its own deck that overlooks the five-acre freshwater lake with a spectacular view!

The second level has a spacious living room and complete dining area which was renovated in 2021. Enjoy watching a movie on the 65” Smart TV with free cable. Walkout onto the upper deck and enjoy the beautiful sunsets, sitting and sipping at an Adirondack table that seats 6. Grab your fishing pole and try to catch a bass or maybe a snapping turtle that are waiting for you in the lake! The fully equipped kitchen has ceramic floors and granite counter tops. It includes an updated half bath that was fully renovated in 2023 and not to forget...a washer and dryer for your convenience.

We have several floating devices, boogie boards and plenty of sand toys. For your convenience, there is an air-hose to blow up rafts, tubes, and beach balls (located behind the tennis and pickleball courts on the south side of the lake).

Southbay by the Gulf is located in the heart of Destin right off Highway 98 and for the most part is within 5 miles of tons of fun.
There is Harbor Walk Village for shopping, dining, activities, deep sea fishing, boat rentals, jet ski rentals, pontoon rentals, dolphin cruises and much more.

If you love to shop, there is a huge outlet mall located about ten minutes away. If you are a golfer, there are several great courses nearby. Super Walmart is less than 2 miles away and there is also a Winn-Dixie right across the street from our condo. There are several shops and restaurants within walking distance too.

The Big Kahuna's Water & Adventure Park is less than a mile away that offers 40 rides and attractions.

The Track Family Fun Park has go-kart rides, kid rides, bumper rides, miniature golf, arcade and thrill rides.

Some of our favorite restaurants are: The Back Porch, AJ.'s Seafood & Oyster Bar, Tailfin's Ale House, Dewey Destin’s Seafood Restaurant on the Bay (a much see at sunset), Fudpucker’s Beachside Bar & Grill that have live "gators" and shows for the kids.

Fun places to walk to on the beach (and beach access only) for lunch or a drink:

---Rick’s Sand Trap Bar & Grill (west of the beach gazebo and located at Sandpiper Cove Condos) CASH ONLY.

---Pelican Beach Resort (east of the beach gazebo).

Another fun recommendation is to take “Destin Water Taxi” for a boat ride to The Harbor Village for dining, shopping, or dancing with the vicinity of the harbor. Look on their website for details.

Great week

The condo is very nice with everything you need to make for a good vacation. Conveniently located to everything (restaurants,shops, grocery). Our host was excellent and we’ll be booking this condo for our next trip to Destin.

All you can ask for!

This place is absolutely amazing. You are steps from the beach and on the lake so you have great, calm views at home to relax after a day in the sun. Clean and well-provisioned. A lot of space. Quiet neighborhood. Pet friendly, and our dog loved it too. The property managers were super accommodating. We were evacuating from Milton and they allowed us to check in early and tag on an extra night for a reduced rate considering the circumstances and since our power still wasn’t on back home. We loved the place and hope to return for a real vacation soon.

Beautiful Beaches

Overall, the property was clean and nicely decorated. The location was convenient as the complex is near the main road.The beaches were absolutely gorgeous! There was quite a crowd each day. So nice to have a reserved umbrella and two chairs! The beach is definitely within walking distance, winding around the condos, over the bridge, and through pass gates. However, before renting the place, we were under the impression that we would be staying on the South side of the lake. This definitely had an impact on our proximity to the beach. Please be advised when driving to this condo. It is on the North side of the lake.

Great spot for a family getaway!

We enjoyed our long-weekend family beach getaway. The condo is situated waterfront on the north side of the lake providing relaxing views from both the upstairs and downstair balconies. Though not directly beachfront, the walk across the bridge truly took only about 6 minutes, and the condo has just about every beach/pool toy, float, umbrella, etc. that you could want...along with a collapsible wagon to haul it all. The beach service included as part of the condo reservation was a really nice feature. We had a front row spot with chairs and an umbrella ready for us every day. Lynda was very responsive and helpful to make sure we got started off right. We'll gladly stay here again on a future trip!

Found a new favorite spot in Destin

Nicely renovated townhome in a small, friendly community that was pet-friendly. We enjoyed time on both decks, and there was plenty of space for our family of 4. Overlooking the lake was unique, and the walk to the beach was short. Would definitely stay here again.

Highly recommend!

Perfect place to stay and beach ready. Only need to bring toothbrush and swimsuit. Too many items to list readily available…beach toys, beach towels, child’s bed guard rails, cooler, beach chairs and umbrella…and much more! Great location for walking to restaurants and beach shopping. Major shops within short drive. We loved our stay!

The unit was perfectly located. We were between the beach and and beautiful lake. The beach was a very short walk with beautiful scenery on the way. Lynda was amazing to work with!!!!

Would not return again

I had rented a condo but was later told there was a leakage and we agreed to move to a condo that was not renovated. The pictures that we’re sent look fine. We were not sent any discount for not getting what we payed for. Once we got there, the condo looked clean but when I saw down on one of the beds it was filled with sand. The rooms had a weird sent but I tried to use some spays to mask the sent. I found fishing hooks on the floor, which could of caused a major problem with 2 dogs in the condo! The beds were very poor quality! The bunk beds were VERY unstable! The curtains were so thin that all of my family woke up at sunrise because of how much sunlight came through. All of the furnitures were dirty and the headrest for the beds were also dirty. The air conditioner was leaking and went through the master bedroom. We had to call the owners about the issue and the next day the issue was fixed. But the air conditioner was very loud and made it hard to sleep. Some of the plugs in the wall worked and others didn’t. The light in the master room stoped working and when the fan was on it was unstable and felt like it was going to fall. The second room’s bathroom was very poor, the fan had a loud sound that made our ears hurt. The view of the back porch was great and we saw many turtles, fish and birds but there was a broken piece on the porch big enough for one of my dogs to fall out of. The lock of the porch doors were rusted and hard to open and close. The kitchen was fine but only had 2 trash bags. There was very little amount of cheap soap. We ran out of toilet paper on the second day and had to buy our own for the rest of our stay. The bathrooms were dirty. The couches smelt like wet dogs. I found mold on the sides/ bottom of the sink. One office chair had a broken foot that would fall off when I moved it. The hot tub didn’t work and we couldn’t find a switch to turn it on. There was an issue with the complimentary beach chairs and umbrella but with the help of the owners the issue was fixed. We asked to leave the condo at 11 instead of 10 and was allowed without extra pay which was good. The only issue with that is, my family felt like we were being kicked out because the owners were waiting for us to leave before we started to take our things to the car. Overall the stay was poor and I wouldn’t recommend this place for anyone.

Pure bliss!

Our stay here was amazing! We found the condo better than advertised with extreme thought given to the condo for a relaxing and comfortable stay. They have thought of everything, from the remote fans that kept the interior breezy and cool to the laundry baskets and wonderful washer and dryer to the comfortable couches perfect for napping and the amazing outdoor decks and furniture and more! Highly recommend!!

Very cool location.

Very cool location. I caught a bunch of bass in the lake. The walk is very close to the swimming pool and an easy walk to the beach. I'll definitely be back.

Nice updated unit

The condo was clean and comfortable. It looks like everything except a few kitchen appliances have been updated very recently and seem to be maintained well. The master bed is super comfortable with nice, soft linens. The living room and outdoor furniture are also very nice. Lake views are lovely. It's a bit of a walk across the complex to the beach, but not bad. Community pools are clean and well-maintained. Property manager was very responsive to inquiries. Smart-lock, no contact check in is very appreciated. We really enjoyed our stay, wish it had been longer.

Property was in spectacular condition and in a great location for all things Destin. With access to your own private beach and the most comfortable beds I will definitely be coming here again. Highly recommend!

Gorgeous and clean condo.

The unit is absolutely beautiful inside. And most of all, in the middle of this covid pandemic... it was CLEAN. I always bring my own Lysol spray and wipes and literally clean from top to bottom as soon as I arrive somewhere other than my own house to stay and I did the same here. And I was impressed with the cleanliness of it. It made me feel safe for myself and my family. I love that there is no carpet (except for on the stairway) as non-carpeted floors are easier to keep clean. We took this trip as a mini getaway since we haven't done vacations since covid. We had no plans but to relax and let the kiddos go swimming. They really enjoyed the pools, especially the heated one. The condo is fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, including dishes and towels. It is also a short walk to the beach. The lake views from the top and bottom floor are nice and relaxing. We definitely hope to stay there again in the near future ☺️

Beautiful view

Excellent experience; nice condo. Shower liners needed to be replaced but otherwise neat and clean. Walk to beach was longer than anticipated. Beach service was excellent.

Displaced for Isa

We were displaced by hurricane Ida and Lynda was very nice and helpful. The condo was very nice and clean. Close to shopping and the beach is a short walk through the complex. Very pleased with everything. Will definitely be booking again in the future.

Great place to stay

The townhouse was fully stocked with everything we needed to get started, we loved being able to sit on the balcony’s each morning while drinking coffee. My four year old granddaughter loved all the turtles in the lake and having the beach cart a spot use came in handy on our daily trips to the beach.

Lynda and I own the condo, along with my husband. We have been "crazy" best friends since 4th grade and grew up together in St. Louis, Missouri.

Lynda moved to beautiful Destin, Florida in 2001 and I started coming down with my family and staying at Southbay by the Gulf since 2002.

Because we both love Destin, the emerald- green waters and white sandy beaches, we decided to buy a condo for rentals at Southbay by the Gulf in 2016.
