Beautiful house, extra everything, close to Merchants Mill Pond State Park. Nice deck on back of house. Overall a great weekend.

This was a perfect 1 night stay on our drive towards our beach vacation. The host was great with communication, the space was clean and open, and the banana bread and drinks provided were great and so appreciated! We didn't stay long, but it was a good place. The kitchen is more of a kitchenette but still functional. The furniture was nice and well laid out. Only note was in other reviews that it is very much on the road and it made the driveway feel very small.

My friend John and I were looking for a place to stay when we discovered the campground at Merchants Millpond was closed. We were very pleased with the accommodations and our interactions with Denise. Very clean and well decorated, with generous amenities right down to homemade banana bread. We may well voluntarily pass on camping on future trips to stay here again!

Very Nice VRBO in Gatesville

Great place to stay in Gatesville. Clean, well furnished and great communication with hostess. Highly recommend if you are in the area.

The property is well maintained. I go to the area at least once a year and I think I have found my new gp to accommodations. Very clean and receptive. The property also had free amenities that helped to enhance the stay.

Wonderful Accomodation

We were very pleased with the cottage. It was so inviting and comfortable. Denise was helpful with any information we needed and also left fresh baked banana bread for us to enjoy - the best we ever tasted! We would stay here again.

The home was beautiful and comfortable. We felt welcomed as soon as we walked in. It was really a home away from home. We had fresh banana bread waiting for us in the kitchen that was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend and we will stay again. Side note: It sets on a highway and for a light sleeper you can hear the cars go by if your in the room by the road.

Perfect getaway!!!

I have stayed here several times and it never disappoints. The house is always VERY clean and cozy. It is the perfect place to stay if you are just looking somewhere to getaway and unplug for a few days. I will definitely be staying here in the future. PS…the banana nut bread is AMAZING!!!

Prime location for family fishing and fun

We really enjoyed our stay at this property in Gatesville, NC. We were less than 10 mins from Merchants Millpond State Park and very close to fishing access along Bennett's Creek and the Chowan River. The house was cute and served our purposes well. Check in and comminication with our host was a breeze.

This little rental was very nice. It was clean and all the rooms were nicely furnished. The kitchen is a bit small but enough room to make breakfast and something for lunch.Don’t plan a big dinner but who wants to cook on holiday?For some reason looking at the pictures I imagined the house being more rural. The house sits on a fairly busy road in a neighborhood. There was no problem with that as it was a nice neighborhood and not far from Bennet creek which my husband and I paddled. It was very close to Merchants Mill Pond which my husband and I use to go to 20 years ago. We paddled that and it is still beautiful. A small family would find it comfortable but not much in the way of games or puzzles.We would certainly go back to this rental as the hostess is very nice and easily reachable if you have a question or problem.

This was by far, one of the best places I’ve ever stayed. It wasn’t anything fancy, but the owner was very responsive to messages AND I had fresh banana bread waiting on me when I arrived. It’s the perfect place to unwind. Very clean!!!!

Pristine Accommodation

This property was immaculately presented. We loved being here. It was the perfect location to be close to our oldest daughter. Back porch is an awesome place to hear birds and the gentle sounds of the area.

Great stay in this beautiful property!

My wife, daughter, son-in-law, infant grandson, and myself stayed here for 4 nights this past week. We were in town for a wedding and couldn't be happier for choosing Bennett's Creek Guest House. The house is nicely decorated and furnished. The owner is close by and was quick to answer all questions that we had. I highly recommend this property and will stay here again if we return to the area !

Very roomy and comfortable

Came to visit family in the area and attend a funeral. Not only was this very convenient, it is beautiful. The rooms are spacious and beds/furniture are very comfortable. Denise was great to work with and left us the nicest welcome gift of her homemade banana bread. We will be back again next year.

The place was lovely and well-appointed. This cute little cottage is tucked away in a remote little village where you will see trucks and farm equipment driving by.This area has lots of history. Across the street from the cottage was a small cemetery and beyond that charming older homes, and cotton fields.The interior was more than we expected. Two very nice sized bedrooms, a great sized living and dining area, a nice bathroom (nice towels but no storage space for your toiletries), laundry area and very tiny kitchen.While just about everything was great, there were a few things that weren't to our liking:1. We are big coffee drinkers. The photos show a drip coffee maker, for which we brought our favorite coffee. When we arrived we discovered only a Keurig, which we have never used before and had to go purchase pods.2. The kitchen is equipped with a two burner hotplate, toaster oven and fridge. Unfortunately, there is zero workspace in the kitchen and no dish detergent. We made do by pulling a stool from another room for additional workspace.3. We packed based on being able to wash clothing. Unfortunately the washing machine was out of service.Overall, after a week stay, we would love to come and stay here again.Thank you Denise for a lovely visit, and the very tasty banana bread!

Stay in Gatesville

While traveling NC we stopped in Gatesville for the night and stayed at this property. It was extremely clean inside and out, the banana nut bread that was left for us was delicious and we appreciated the recommendations left for us in the guide Denise left in the home. We will be returning for sure if we pass through the area again!

Hidden Gem!

I highly recommend this property! Super clean and felt like home! My mom and I loved everything this property had to offer! The popcorn heat bags were a great addition to warm out bodies in the evening:))
