We welcome you to our Pinewood Guesthouse which is a 700 square foot Country Cottage located on our home property. (We don't disturb our guests)
Located 400 feet from the road in a very safe area.

Open Queen Suite and Extra Queen Bedroom.
Big bathroom with JACUZZI Tub, 48in stall shower (with seat in corner)
Tankless hot water! Washer/Dryer
Full Kitchen
Hulu on both TVs
Dimmable recessed lighting throughout cottage for a romantic feel.

Rocking chair on front porch.

Private Gas Fire Pit for roasting marshmallows on lazy evenings! (Burns clean with no smoke and no sparks) Located in trees

Plenty of parking for cars or a boat.
Come relax and enjoy our quiet country cottage!

Put your boat overboard at the boat ramp half a mile down the road from our house which is the Perquimans River.

Visit the Nicholson House Restaurant (0.5 miles) for some laid back country cooking. They have a nice gift shop too! (Closed Sunday and Monday)

Also check out Layden's Country Store near the restaurant for a back in time shopping experience! Hoop Cheese and Fresh cut meat! People come from miles around to shop there!

Quaint little town of Hertford is 12 minutes away.
Historic Edenton is only 25 minutes drive.
Elizabeth City is 25 minutes away where you will find Wal-Mart, Chain Restaurants, Privately Owned Restaurants, Chain Stores, Albemarle Museum, movie theaters and more.

After a long day sight seeing, you will love getting away from it all in your own little cottage in the trees!

PERFECTION

The Pinewood was the perfect stay for us!! The cleanliness and comfort made it the most stress free environment to relax and recharge from life and today’s chaos. The owners were both courteous and kind. Communication was spot on and we had everything we needed and more. We will definitely be staying again when we visit relatives in the future.

Delightful Stay

Pinewoods cottage was cozy, well-appointed, and sparkling clean. It's across a parking area from the hosts' house, but we didn't ever meet them and felt quite private. We cooked our dinners and found all the pans, utensils etc. that we needed. A bonus for us older folks was the textured shower floor, a great safety feature. hostess Allison gave us several good tips about local places to visit in response to our questions. All in all, a happy experience.

Excellence!

Quiet country setting with every amenity you will need for a weekend or, as in my case, a month-long stay. Ali and Boots are very nice people that are attentive to questions or requests but otherwise leave you alone. Comfy beds and furniture, fully stocked kitchen, new washer and dryer are standout amenities, but nothing about this property is 2nd rate. Lighted seating area behind the cottage was enjoyed on a daily basis. If you need a wonderful place to stay in this area, stay here. And it's cheaper than the Hampton Inn in Edenton with so much more to offer. Can't say enough good things about this property or the Owners!

Nice stay!

Very nice stay, we enjoyed having the full kitchen and jetted tub. Would stay here again if in the area. Also enjoyed meeting the friendly cat who greeted us every time we arrived and left :)

PEACEFUL!

This space and location was unbelievably peaceful yet around enough to do with some short drives. Hiking, Canoeing, Kayaking, beach and food not to far off. Be sure to look at the recommendations on the fridge! Host are wonderful!

Peace and Quiet

Very well stocked kitchen. Comfy beds. Nice bath and bed linens. Terrific smart tv. Would return if another trip to us in that vicinity. All one floor so VG for older guests. We were there for 6 days.

Peaceful

We only stayed 3 days, but they were so peaceful we wished it had been longer. It was so quiet and comfortable here! The kitchen had everything we needed and even more! We didn't take advantage of the outdoor firepit, but it sure is a very nice feature. We recommend this and would loved to stay here again when we are in the area. Thank you for a peaceful, comfortable and adorable guesthouse.

Perfect for us!

We were looking for a location close enough to drive to places of interest, but well away from crowds and much more affordable than places on the Outer Banks. This was a perfect fit for us. Clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Alison responded promptly to all of our questions.

Peace & Tranquility

We enjoyed our stay at the Pinewood Guesthouse. We had everything we needed and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. We really appreciated the attention to detail, comfy beds, and especially the cleanliness of the house. We would definitely stay here again in the future.

Fishing Trip

This place was perfect and the host and family were great and friendly. Wealth of knowledge about that area. There was plenty of space for the boat with electrical hook up. Off the road down a nice gravelly driveway! Very clean house, lot, and area. We will stay here again next year.

Cozy cottage

The owners were great, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. I honestly didnt want to go home, I love being in NC. The house was very clean, organized & has everything you may need during your stay in the area. You won't find nicer folks than the Layden's so don't hesitate to make reservations, you won't be disappointed by staying @ their cozy cottage.

Relaxing weekend

Loved the place and will definitely come back with the kayak in the summer. The guest house was perfect in every way, comfortable, private, well furnished and supplied A nice scenic drive over to see Lake Phelps and Somerset State Historic site. And a short drive over to the best ever country butcher, Layden's does not disappoint.

We are a family of 5. Floyd grew up in Belvidere and I (Allison) was born in GA. We were married in 2000 and cleared the lot given to us by Floyds Father. We put a home on the 20 acre piece. We built the cottage in the side yard for family when they travel here to visit and then decided to share it with guests. We enjoyed building it and look forward to sharing it with others! All wood, cathedral ceilings, walls and floor are wood, cork, and laminate. No carpet here for allergies to stir up!
