What a great floor plan! Love the open kitchen and the giant table! Wow! More than enough space for our family of 8 with kids ages 2-20. We loved the large property and the multiple bedrooms and bathrooms. Very grateful for the few items in the frig but wish there had been a few more towels. It would also have been useful if we had known how rural the property was. We were nearly 30 minutes from any gas station or grocery. There are also no outdoor lights on the property if you arrive after dark. We enjoyed hiking at Backbone Trail but wish a few more options were recommended.

The house was fantastic. The drive to the house was beautiful, and there were trails to hike and swim holes in the river within a short distance. The house had plenty of space, is eclectic and fun, well decorated but livable at the same time.Nice kitchen with anything you may need. It was hot while we were there so we did not get to use the outdoor areas as much as we would have liked. There is a huge screened porch /patio that would be perfect in cooler weather. Stacey is quick to respond to questions and is a thoughtful communicative host. This truly is a home away from home!

This was a great location for the Kisatchie Ranger District, just make sure you fill up before the Derry exit. We got a little lost (we were just driving around) and like in the listing things are pretty far away. This property is in the middle of 100,000 acres. Also the ranger station shows closed on the weekends so definitely call ahead. The house was bigger than the pictures made it seem and the yard was very big. It has a huge beautiful oak tree in the front. The master bedroom could've fit a queen size air mattress if you wanted. Huge kitchen. We would love to come back to this location. We didn't realize that the sandstone trail was closed to motorized vehicles until May 1st(end of turkey hunting season, I guess) and we were wanting to ride our e-bikes on it. That was my own fault.The only complaints that I had is not in the owners control. There was a noisy neighbor sanding on something most of the weekend(kind of felt intentional.. morning and night) but it's not something you could hear inside and we were gone most of the day. When he/she wasn't doing that it was very peaceful. Also, trying to get around was not as easy as there is no cell service and most of the side roads were gravel or dirt, with only sign for trail heads. *Take caution when exploring in a vehicle there is privately-owned properties and some of the side roads get really muddy when wet and some have been washed out. We had a great time exploring once we got a feel and understanding of the land.

Very clean & nice big place for even large families/kitchen island that seats 8 & plenty of room to spread out! Only issue was the host instructions / driving directions for way we came got truncated in Vrbo messaging on the app, but I’d mapped it using google & Apple Maps so thought we knew where it was - both aerial maps placed the address across from lotus campground, so we made the turn & thought what a rough driveway! Stacey’s message had said Waze steered people wrong but don’t trust the other map apps either! The driveway we thought was right turned out to be a 4x4 forest trail barely wide enough for my husbands dodge 3500 & we almost got stuck in the mud about 1/2 mile off the paved road! But my husband had 4 wheel & is an awesome driver & found a place to turn around & we made it back to the paved road to get cell signal. Stacey then got our call & nicely pointed us back a few miles towards 117 & told us to look for house you can see right from the paved road near top of a hill with a black wrought iron. Fence & gate - so whatever ur map says don ‘t turn down any dirt roads or trails!!! Her place was super nice once we got there - just bring ur own coffee for her coffeemaker & pack your trash out.
