We had a rather bewildering experience renting this property during peak season 2026. Having rented other properties marketed as "rustic" and reviewing the photos of this listing, we knew not to expect a newly renovated space; however, we found the property to be in considerable disrepair—and not very thoroughly cleaned—from the outset of our stay. There was mold/scum in the downstairs bathroom and borderline broken yard-sale-esque furniture scattered throughout the house that we took it upon ourselves to place in storage during our stay. The refrigerator was decades old and missing the bottom shelf due to DIY repairs that had gone wrong. The window AC units (also from a similar era) vibrated the entire wall of the cabin in which they were installed. The lint filter on the dryer was broken and falling into the heating element and the whole unit was making an awful sound when in use that would wake up anyone in our party trying to take a nap. To top things off, the washing machine (again, consider something like a 1980s GE unit) broke during the middle of our stay, leaving us with no way to do laundry from our family of four. Fortunately, the realty team was able to find us a solution for the washing machine mishap; for the other issues, however, we were sorry out of luck. The realty group did promise us a rebate on the (expensive) rent due to the broken appliances, but when we followed up about it, they never wrote back.
