This is a great place to stay. The bunkhouse was clean and absolutely spotless. It is such cozy place to stay and sits on a very beautiful piece of property. I would absolutely stay here again and would recommend anyone to stay here.

We only stayed for a short night but LOVED this cozy cabin. The property makes you feel like you’re in a hallmark movie. The hosts are so kind, we hope to stay again!

The Bunkhouse was exactly what I needed for a quick getaway to a peaceful location. Gwen could not have been more accommodating! She even brought me a phone charger when I realized I failed to pack mine. Highly recommended and I will definitely be back!

This was one of the best VRBO experiences I’ve had. The owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and thoughtful from start to finish. The bunkhouse shed was spotless, comfortable, and very well stocked with everything I needed for my stay.She went above and beyond to make the experience special — she let me pet and feed the goats, offered to start a fire for me, and even took me on a tour of the property and the hiking trails they’re creating. You can tell a lot of care and heart has gone into this place.If you’re looking for a peaceful, unique stay with a wonderful host, I absolutely recommend it. I would gladly stay here again.

This was an absolutely wonderful place to stay. The location is perfect for activities, yet still feels tucked away enough to truly relax and recharge. It’s the ideal quiet retreat if you’re looking to unwind and rejuvenate.The hosts were amazing—friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. They really made the experience special.The bunkhouse was exceptional—spotlessly clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully set up. The kitchen had everything we needed, making it easy to prepare meals and feel right at home.One of our favorite parts was the outdoor space. There are several great spots to sit back and enjoy a glass of wine or a cup of coffee while taking in the peaceful surroundings.We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway.

We really liked the place and it was close (about 10 minutes away) to Horseshoe Ranch which is where we spent our time. The house didn't have AC, which in October wasn't bad but I kind of wish it had a portable unit for at night (I like to keep it cool/cold when sleeping). We did have fans and the temp was comfortable when just hanging out in the evenings. Over all it was super quite, clean and well set up.

Great experience, clean, directions and check in were a breeze. Only minor things:- the WiFi instructions are different from the email versus the actual welcome booklet.- my son slept in the loft and was a littlewarm. How is the temperature in summer? I slept in the sofa bed and no issue.- the night light above the ladder was needed as it is dark at night however I had to unplug it to sleep well in the dark. May be a motion detector light may be better?We will be back again, overall highly recommended. Enjoyed our short stay.

Daniel, thanks for the review and the great suggestions. Sorry about the Wifi instructions, we just updated it and must have made a typo, we will correct it. Also, great idea about the night light. We do not have AC and hence we are only a seasonal rental in the spring and the fall. Look forward to hosting you again! Gwen

Sweet bunkhouse

The bunkhouse fit our needs. It was clean and the location was beautiful. Two things you should know. The loft access is a straight up ladder and going downstairs at night to pee can be tricky. The shower is tall and narrow so if you are a large person it will feel tight.

Was very small inside. Fold out couch was very uncomfortable. Stairs to the loft very steep. Mattress on the floor was very uncoverable. For a six foot tall 215 pound man to have to crawl to get in bed was disappointing. Would not recommend staying here. The bunkhouse was clean and well decorated. Just uncomfortable to stay in.

Thank you for your feedback. While we have had no prior complaints, we will certainly check the beds and make changes as needed. The listing and photos clearly show the Bunkhouse layout and indicate that it is best for those who want a "tiny home" experience and want to enjoy the natural beauty and outdoor experiences that the Ozarks offer.

Relaxing and Quiet

Property is easy to get to and is well situated between Jasper and Ponca. It is a small cabin with all the amenities you would need for several days of peace and quiet on the lovely Mt. Sherman. The kitchen was well thought out and has cooking utensils and even some seasonings. The cabin appears to be very new and is immaculately clean. We spent a great deal of time outdoors having our meals and coffee on the patio. The porch is also great for relaxing and reading. Gwen was amazing. She quickly retrieved an appliance I asked for! And she shared fresh eggs with us from her resident chickens. This was a much needed respite from our busy lives, and we are thankful to have found this property and its hosts.

We had a fantastic stay at the Bunkhouse! Gwen was an exceptional host—she was communicative, welcoming, and even left the porch light on and the door unlocked for us since we arrived late at night, which made settling in effortless after a long drive.The place was comfortable, private, and well-prepared for our visit, complete with a helpful information folder. She even gave us great navigation advice beforehand (Apple Maps worked like a charm!). We truly appreciated her hospitality and would gladly stay here again. Highly recommended!

This bunk house was in a great location for us to float, hike and visit Jasper.It had everything we needed for our stay and was perfect for the 2 of us. We enjoyed sitting outside listening to the birds and looking at the stars. Gwen was a great host. She was very informative and answered my questions quickly. The wifi and cell reception was great. We would stay here again !
