What a unique property! Very fun stay. But you do need to be agile as those ladders are steep and tall. The owner was so nice and accommodating. They were able to give me an early check-in so my daughter could get ready for senior pictures. Would stay again when I’m in the area. Nice central location too!

Our stay was spectacular and wished we could have stayed longer. The space lives much larger than it is, it is spotless and comfortable, peaceful and had everything we needed. There are so many nice touches to the decor, use of space and overall design. My kids were so excited to stay here and was even better than described. Kudos to the design team, what a comfortable and fun space.

Mickey Mouse House for the Win

Everything you need and then some! We loved our stay here. This loft was perfect for our small family of three. Beautiful, well thought out space. Lots of sleeping room and play space. Felt private and had gorgeous fenced shared outdoor space with lighting, treehouse, playground, seating, and outdoor wet bar. Can’t wait to stay again next time we are in the area.

Such fun!!

Took my two kids and our visiting exchange student to Santa Cruz for the weekend and this was a perfect place to stay and play! The lofts were such fun! And my 11 year old loved the treehouse, swing and fireman pole! We’d definitely stay here again!

Great stay in an amazing loft house

What a great place! Super clean and really well decorated. Two loft beds - just as described and one office w a comfy fold out Murphy bed. All the amenities were new. Fun spaces both in the yard and the house (which is an ADU in the backyard). Plus a tree house to climb! Bei was very communicative and prompt in all her replies. I highly recommend this charming place!

Great little base for a short stopover in San Jose

This was a fun little apartment, a perfect base for our family to spend a few days before heading further down the Californian coast. Our kids (8 and 11) loved the adventurous climb up to their loft bedrooms and we took the downstairs room. All 3 beds were very large and comfortable, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you might need, and there was a lovely hot powerful shower. The treehouse and swing in the yard was a hit with the kids too. Nice quiet neighbourhood and a good location to explore the local area. Host was very helpful and had made lots of thoughtful little touches like leaving bathroom essentials in case you’d forgotten anything. Thanks for a great stay!

Such a fun spot!

I stayed here with two women all of us in our mid 30s and we loved it! It’s in the backyard of a larger house but honestly, that helped us feel sooo safe. We still had our own space and the backyard was ours to use along with the home. It was super cute and everything you could ever need. Just a heads up, one of the lofts has a very steep ladder made of metal and we were terrified going up and down but if you are much younger and lighter, it’s honestly the best room in the entire house. All the rooms have restrooms and all beds are super cozy. Bei was so kind and easy to work with. Super accommodating to our needs.

This property deserves a review to help others understand the layout. We are two middle aged adults and it worked for us. If you have young children this is THE PLACE TO BE. The unit has 2 lofts that are 3.5-4’ tall both have a toilet and sink. Both have tall ladders to climb to get up. We looked up there and left it at that. But they would be such fun rooms for kids. There is a treehouse that would also be really fun for kids or teens. The main house is well equipped. The issue we had is since there are two of us - one of us had to crawl over top the other to go to the bathroom (while in bed). Parking can be a challenge as a lot of cars seem to park on this street but it is easily walkable to so many places. The entrance is cute with passion vine, berries oranges and lemons. I will absolutely stay here again when traveling alone. We both enjoyed it but agreed it is made for 1 adult and some children. Very nice people own it There’s a rental beside this unit. There’s also a rental in the home. Both the woman and the man renting those were very nice. This is a safe neighborhood.

nice cozy home but not if you cant climb ladders

home was very clean and well stocked. Brie was easy to work with and stays on top of any communication. Only need to make clear that one of the loft rooms had steep stairs, as shown in the ad, but the other loft was only accessable by an unattached collapsable ladder. This is not shown in pictures. I am not sure if this is even legal. ceilings are low so be prepared to squat. YIKESknow if even knowfortunately

Thank you for your stay and for your feedback, Suzie. I’m glad you found the home clean, well-stocked, and appreciated the communication. Regarding the loft space, we do clearly note in the listing that the ceiling height ranges from 4.5 to 5.5 feet, and that adults will need to bend—it’s designed more like a tiny home experience. The collapsible ladder is intended for optional use to access the second loft. That said, we appreciate your feedback and will be adding clearer photos showing the telescoping ladder to help future guests better visualize the layout. We always welcome questions in advance and aim to be as transparent as possible.

Great place to stay with family!

This was a great place to stay with a family (our kids are 7 and 9 years old). They had a blast playing with the video games in the loft and loved the treehouse in the backyard. I'm sure they will be talking about staying in the "Mickey Mouse" house for years to come. It was conveniently located and in a great and quiet neighborhood. It was tight quarters, but that was ok with us. The ladders to climb into the lofts were fine, but could be a problem if you had younger children or older people staying with you. There is one bedroom on the ground level, however. We were delightfully surprised to receive a welcome gift from the host and have the fridge stocked with some essentials. The only thing I would mention is that it is a shared backyard area with a few other units, which we didn't realize until we arrived (we just didn't read the listing closely enough). Also, we could not stand up fully as adults on the lofts, which meant we couldn't comfortably spend as much time upstairs - but, again, the kids loved it!

To clarify for future guests: the backyard is a shared space with our family and a close friend who lives in a separate studio unit in the back. That said, there’s a dedicated area just behind the Mickey Loft reserved exclusively for Mickey Loft guests to relax and enjoy. As mentioned, the loft spaces are cozy and fun for adventurous kids and those who are comfortable climbing ladders. We generally recommend the lofts for guests who are nimble and do not have mobility concerns. For anyone who prefers ground-level access, the main bedroom on the lower floor is a great option.
