An absolutely gorgeous home, where the host has thought of everything. Easy to check in and out, easy to access the city. Bedrooms are beautifully decorated with different themes for each room. Soft towels and amazing water pressure in every bathroom. The ckeaning crew does a fabulous job,the house was spotless. We had a great time staying here for the weekend,, we will definitely be back to visit in the future. Thank you to our attentive host! We appreciate you!

This was the perfect place for seven adult family members who all need space! Probably the best host I’ve ever had for a vacation rental…readily available, very helpful, and plenty of snacks, toiletries, and thick towels. Comfy beds. We loved the decor and the fact that we could walk to Wrigley, as well as plenty of good restaurants and bars. The property is immediately next to the L which we didn’t know of until arrival. The host provides a jar of earplugs and a sound machine in each bedroom which worked fine for most of us. A couple of our group members were bothered by the noise during the night. Thanks Joan for all your help!!

The home was very clean and the pictures on the site were true to what you get. The home had lots of nice touches such as snacks and coffees that were appreciated. The garage was great to have and the location in the city was great. It is right by Trader Joes' and restaurants. We walked to Wrigley Field which was a pleasant walk. Joan, the host, was very responsive to any questions we had. Check in was a breeze.Joan's listing fully discloses the proximity to the train tracks. The tracks are close to the house and loud. Joan has done all she can by providing white noise machines and ear plugs which help. We noticed it less each day, but it might be an issue for some. All in all, it was a good experience.

The place was amazing for our group of 11 people. It was close to the EL but they provided sound machines and ear plugs so we didn't even notice it.

We may have missed this in the listing, so no blame here… But being near the El was difficult for some of our group. Otherwise, we thought it was a gorgeous place and loved every other thing about it.

Overall, absolutely fantastic stay. Large, clean living space with ample common area for hanging out with friends/family. The 3 bathrooms, all with showers, made getting ready to head out for evening activities quick and easy, even for a large group. I would absolutely stay here again!

We were in Chicago for a funeral, and I appreciated the warmth of our hostess, Joan. From the time I booked the reservation, Joan was a blessing to us, guiding us throughout our stay. Her kindness was overwhelming, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at her home. It felt like we were staying at a family's home and not just any home. Thank you, Joan, and you are the best.

The house lives up to the pictures. It has tons of room for a group. There are cute restaurants/bars in walking distance and trader Joes is a quick walk if you need groceries. Joan was so kind and quick to respond. Ubers are easily available as well but we walked to Wrigley (about a mile). Would definitely book again

This was one of the easiest check-in experiences I’ve ever had. Everything was ready and available and nothing was complicated. They have plenty of towels for use, the kitchen was well stocked with day-to-day needs both upstairs and downstairs.

This was the best rental experience ever. Really cute, clean, well-appointed. It had everything we needed, including decent towels. Close to train but earplugs and sound machines in every bedroom. Train did not bother anyone staying. Host was amazing. Things were explained in detail and they even had labels on cabinet. Loved our stay here.

Perfect for family gatherings

We rented this property for a family thanksgiving gathering . It was perfect! Eclectic decor but very welcoming. Great location for a “home base”. Communication with property manager was exceptional. I definitely recommend this property.

Our family of 12 really enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property! Everyone thanked me for finding this rental. We all loved the amount of detail that went into decorating this home. So many rentals are bland & lack character...not this home! Everyone thought it was lovely & very unique. Every space was utilized so well-everything flowed impeccably. My bed was very comfortable & I assume everyone else's was too since everyone slept well. At first we were surprised at the proximity to the train-you can't get much closer-and we were all very worried that the trains would keep us awake at night, but it really didn't. The host supplied earplugs which helped. We were also very grateful for the snacks left for us! It was great having 2 kitchens since we were a large group and were able to all cook at the same time & eat at the same time. The kitchens were fairly well stocked, but could use a few serving platters & utensils. The bathrooms were each very well stocked with large bottles of body wash, shampoo & conditioner as well as plenty of luxurious towels. We were only there for 2 nights and unfortunately didn't get a chance to take advantage of the cute movie room. Amazing how the host transformed this small space into a fun theater. Last thing, the description says there is a "futon" or "Sleeper Sofa with Ottoman" in the living room that can sleep 1, but I think this is best for a small child, not ideal for a teenage boy! We would definitely stay here again! Thank you Joan!

Beautiful place to stay with a large group

This property is exceptionally well-suited for large groups. We hosted a 2-week family reunion with 10 overnight guests and frequent daytime visitors, and it never felt crowded or lacking in amenities. With 3 full bathrooms, ample seating, a full-size washer and dryer, two fully equipped kitchens, and a two-car garage, the home is spacious and thoughtfully outfitted.Our host was always responsive and polite.The only consideration is the nearby train line, which can be heard when trains pass. Even so, the overall experience and features make this a 5-star property for me.

The Grand Vic was an AMAZING property. First, located in a very walkable area with coffee shops, grocery stores, and most importantly, Wrigley field only 20 minutes away by walking. It is located in a residential area that made it feel safe and welcoming to be in while we stayed there. I loved the nearby train - it was fun to hear it and experience part of Chicago. The house itself was gorgeous and was very accommodating for 7 people. Everyone had a room and bed (or shared a bed) but each room was at least a Queen, so it was spacious for 2 people. The beds felt like clouds! Additionally, the house has 3 bathrooms which was perfect for our group. The bathrooms were stocked with towels which was amazing because everyone got at least 2 big and small towels plus more if they needed it. That was a perk for sure. The first floor was more of the hangout spot with a spacious living room, tv, and kitchen for gathering in. The second floor was more for eating and cooking as it had a dining room table and larger kitchen appliances. We loved being able to use the various floors for various reasons. Lastly, there is bunnies that live around the property which was very cute to see in the morning and at night. Second, it is located decently 20-30 minutes by uber/lyft to downtown and gold coast neighborhoods. So it didn't feel far and ubers showed up within 10 mins or less to the house. I would recommend this house to any large group staying for a few days or even longer!

Stayed with 6 adults to go to a cubs game. Walking distance to Wrigley and felt safe doing so. Place was great and beds were comfortable. Train noise wasnt bad, and was well noted in listing and other reviews. Garage for parking was nice option. Will stay again!

The home is even more beautiful than the pictures. The decor is perfection. A lot of towel provided, along with coffee, spices, pots and pans as well as snacks! Our group of 8 stayed during Lollapalooza. Some of the group went and others didn’t. Lollapalooza goers took the train to and from, around 45 min to a hour each way. The rest of us were able to easily walk to restaurants and Trader Joe’s, which is a 4 minute walk. We also took the train downtown and to various neighborhoods like Wicker Park and Lincoln Park. The house is located a short walk to the train. We hadn’t used the trains in past visits to Chicago, but it was quite simple and we enjoyed it. The house is very close to the train so it is loud. There are white noise machines and ear plugs provided, but most of us just got used to it and no one thought it brought down the ability to enjoy the house. It’s in a lovely neighborhood, very safe and friendly people. We brought our dog and appreciated the gated yard. We would definitely stay again!
