Opportunity to enjoy the Moonstone Bungalow with a smaller group! Nestled amidst the stunning Mojave landscape, our casita (1100 SF) offers 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom + pool bathroom. This property has two king beds, and sleeps 4 guests comfortably to enjoy a wealth of amenities for relaxation to ensure an unforgettable getaway.

The Moonstone Bungalow is ideally situated about a 13-minute drive to the park entrance, and a 5-minute drive to downtown Joshua Tree with shops, restaurants, the golf course, and many other fun activities. We'll be happy to make recommendations on our favorite spots.
You'll have to this home as well as the 2.3-acre lot during your stay. However, you will not have access to the main 5br house and the movie projector screen (unless you bring your own projector). You will receive your personalized door lock code before your arrival.
If you'd like to also rent the main house, please check out our other listing on this same account. Please note that this listing is not available when the other listing is booked and vice versa. There will never be two separate groups of renters at The Moonstone Bungalow. The two bedroom casita will only be available to be booked up to two weeks in advance.

Hot Tub: Soak under the desert sun or the starry night sky in the private hot tub or view the outdoor movie playing from the hot tub.
Custom Fire Pit: Gather around the fire pit for cozy evenings, storytelling or snacking on good food.
Outdoor Ping Pong Table: Have you ever enjoyed ping pong in the desert outdoors? Here's your opportunity.
Hanging Hammocks: Find your zen in the hammocks, perfect for stargazing on a clear night.
Pergola with Hanging Chairs: Relax in style beneath the pool's pergola, where hanging chairs invite you to unwind.
Dedicated Workspace: For those who work remotely, there is a dedicated desk in the living room to get your work done privately.
Bedrooms: Casita features two charming bedrooms and a well-appointed bathroom, a more intimate and private, cozy retreat.
POOL AREA:
There is an additional bathroom with a shower in the pool area for your convenience.
Morongo Basin is very spread out and you'll certainly want to have a car(s) to get around. Uber / Lyft is available but can be limited at times.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
We do have outdoor cameras for the security and safety of our guests and the property.
This home is just off 29 Palms Highway and noise can be heard throughout the property.
PETS:
We love pets. Your fur-family is welcome with an additional fee of $150/ pet per stay (max 2 pets allowed). While we love all animals, cats, and other animals are not allowed at this time. You are required to disclose before booking. However, they are not allowed to swim in the pool or hot tub. Please be mindful, as their fur can cause the filters to clog. Please be aware of desert plants and animals. Keep your pets away from them as we want them to be safe. We strongly suggest you use a leash and accompany your pets while enjoying the space because of the cactus and wildlife. You are 100% responsible for yourself and your pets.
POOL:
The pool is available to be enjoyed year round from 7 am - 10 pm. The pool can be heated for $200/day and must be heated for the entire duration of your stay. Let us know 48 hours in advance to allow time for the pool to be heated.
VISITORS:
We ask that the reservation holder let us know in advance if they plan on having any visitors during their stay. You may not have additional guests unless previously authorized by the host.
BROKEN ITEMS:
We understand that accidents happen, if anything breaks down (even if it's your fault), please let us know so we can send someone to fix it or replace it for you and future guests. We are counting on you to take great care of the home.
KITCHEN RULES:
Please only use soap and water to clean our custom concrete big kitchen island. No red wine on the concrete island as it will stain. In the past, someone spilled coffee. This is very expensive to redo.
FILMING & PHOTO SHOOTS:
If you or your company are interested in utilizing the space for film, television, music video, or photo/film shoots of any kind, please contact us via the message portion of the site to discuss details, approvals, pricing, etc.
BASKETBALL COURT RULES:
Please do not dunk or hang on the rims of the basketball court. We wish they were as durable as the official NBA hoops, but they're not quite ;) You will be held liable for any damage. Please be respectful of the property as we want as many future guests to enjoy this amenity.
PLUMBING:
Like ours, most houses in Joshua Tree are on a Septic Tank system. For this reason, nothing can be flushed down the toilet except toilet paper. Following these guidelines will avoid problems with the plumbing. If it is determined that the pipes have been clogged due to misuse, a $500 repair fee will be charged. Thank you for your cooperation.
NO SMOKING:
Smoking (including E-Cig) is NOT allowed on the property or within 15 feet of the exterior door. Please dispose of cigarettes into a plastic bag and put them in the outdoor trash can. If the above is not maintained, we will charge a $100 special cleaning fee. Please smoke outside and dispose of your cigarettes in the trash. We appreciate your cooperation.
LIABILITY RELEASE:
Guest agrees to hold the Host harmless against any and all loss, claims, causes of action, demands, and/or costs and expenses that may be incurred by the guests in relation to the home rental. We cannot be responsible for lost or stolen items. Subletting our property is strictly prohibited.
TRAVEL INSURANCE:
We highly recommend our guests purchase travel insurance through the booking platform to protect them against any issues that would cause a guest to have to cancel their trip. Many credit cards might also offer suitable travel insurance. Thanks in advance for acknowledging the cancellation policy will be adhered to.
MANDATORY RULE:
Have fun and enjoy! We spent a year and a half renovating the property to make it the most enjoyable experience for all of you :)

◦ Wildlife: this is the rural desert and we share the space with the wildlife. You may encounter desert ants, mice, coyotes, or if you’re lucky a bobcat.
◦ RULES: Noise ordinance: Quiet hours are 10pm-7am. No external speakers allowed. Any noise related discrepancies will result in at least a $1000 fine.
◦ SMOKING POLICY No smoking inside the house or within 10ft. Smoke residue will result in excessive cleaning fees
◦ Restricted Areas: Any locked closet or room is restricted. If forcibly entered you could be held liable for any unaccounted for item.
◦ Hot Tub/Pool: Please rinse off before and after getting out of the hot tub. Please keep the lid on to avoid getting dirt in the hot tub as well as retain heat. Absolutely no glass by any water. We have weekly pool cleanings, this day may fall on your stay and your cooperation will keep the hot tub clean and balanced at all times.
Hot Tub Use: Please avoid using the hot tub immediately after it’s been serviced, as chemical levels are temporarily elevated. Thanks for your understanding!
◦ Photoshoots & Video: No un permitted photoshoots or videoing at the home. If you would like to use our home for those purposes please send us a message. Any unauthorized filming will result in a $5000 violation and production fee.
