Experience this hidden gem in Savannah. Welcome to Carriage for the Captain. Stay in the former carriage house of Captain James Dickerson. This little carriage house has a large king bed and ensuite bathroom on the main floor. Up the stairs, you will find an open kitchen and living area, perfect for watching TV or enjoying time with friends. There is a half bathroom upstairs off of the kitchen. No car is needed for this location. Next to Oglethorpe Square, Carriage for the Captain is an easy 3-10 minute walk to most attractions, restaurants, and bars in the Historic District. Please be aware that parking is on the street or in a nearby parking garage and is paid.

The location was great!

We very much enjoyed our stay in this comfy cottage. It was super clean, had everything we needed. We loved the ground level entry and the upstairs living room/kitchen area was very comfortable. The location was great as it was a short walk to all kinds of shops, restaurants and historical points of interest. Christopher was super helpful with parking as well. We would highly recommend a stay here!

Savannah getaway

This is a terrific location in one of our favorite cities in the US. The weather cooperated and it was great to walk everywhere. Coffee shop next door! The upstairs living area is awesome. You can hear some street noise but you are right there in the middle of everything. It gets quiet at 10 so no problem sleeping.

Wonderful location minor issues occurred

Initial frustration in inquiring about parking, no answer until booking cancelation expired. While comfortable, there were several unfinished aspects to the rental or the supplies . One of which caused a rodent to enter while we were there. Management was responsive to solving problem. Without several small issues rating would have been higher.

Great location

This property was within walking distance of everything. Unfortunately, the cleanliness lacked which made the stay for us a huge let down. The smell of bleach was so strong in the bedroom that when we left the next day, we still couldn’t get that smell out of our noses. You would think that with the bleach smell, things would be cleaner but the floors were filthy. The owners asked for our shoes to be removed, we of course obliged, but my feet ended up black on the bottoms. It’s too bad, it was a cute place with a great location.

Nice property, great location, comfortable beds

The property is centrally located in the historic district of Savannah; just a 5-10 minute walk to most attractions. It has been nicely restored/decorated, and the beds were extremely comfortable. Fully stocked kitchen! The place was also nicely stocked with amenities such as hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, dish washing liquid, hand soap, paper towels, coffee and sugar (stuff we don’t ordinarily find with these sort of rentals). However, no bath or front door mat (with a no shoe policy). It was very tidy, but we found it was not as clean as we would have liked, especially given the separate cleaning fee. Specifically we found the floors in the upstairs living area to be dusty, the shower area to have some mold in the porous natural stone tile, and in the downstairs area (foyer/bedroom/full bathroom), there was a strong musty smell. However, that could have been due to the rainy weather we experienced upon arrival, it seemed to lessen as it dried up outside. Overall, a nice stay.
