Great property with a great host! The location is fantastic and close to many areas of interest to include Mendocino and Fort Bragg. We always enjoy our visits and look forward to returning soon.

Of all the places I have stayed in Albion and Mendocino, Sanctuary by the Sea is now a favorite. The hosts were incredibly thoughtful and thorough, making sure every detail was under stood by me. The home is on a beautiful bluff that overlooks the ocean, seen through the living room, dining room, and master bedroom. The hot tub was the hottest I have experienced ( so many hot tubs in Mendo are not the greatest), and overlooking the sea. I slept like a baby, the master bed was so comfortable. The kitchen is stocked with anything you may need. This is the perfect spot if you love views, quiet, and safety ( the neighborhood requires a gate code). I slept, read, meditated on the bluffs, and sat in the hot tub. Thank you, Flint. GREAT stay!

Beautiful location and home

Pictures did not do justice to this home. Most beautiful view of the crashing waves, in a wonderfully quiet private community. Clean and spacious and huge communal space. Would definitely stay again!

Must stay. Roomy with gorgeous views and property. All the amenities you could need with a hot tub!!!! Do yourself a favor and book this place.

Checked out this gem

The stay checked off one that has been on my long time bucket list ... to stay at one of those beautiful homes overlooking the ocean. Beautiful ocean view from hot tub, deer grazing outside our dining room window with ocean view, a fox lying in the sun on front deck, host had all the amenities and more, and gorgeous sunsets.

spectacular view

Saw the views of this home online and felt is was a perfect destination to host Thanksgiving dinner with family. It was a hit with me and the family. The weather was clear so we could enjoy the end view of the water and coastline. This place is a gem and would come back anytime

Slice of heaven on the bluffs

This is a great place to relax and unwind. We spent most of the time sitting in the yard overlooking the ocean, gazing at the waves, deer, sea birds and stars. The house is roomy and comfortable. It had everything we needed.

Happy Place

I spent one month here with family coming and going. It couldn’t have been a better experience. The view was phenomenal and so enjoyed all the wildlife around. I will definitely be back.

Spacious for 6 people, marvelous view of the ocean.

The main attraction is the view of the ocean. The house is spacious and comfortable for 6 people, 7 people is possible but might be tight. For people who like to cook: the kitchen is quite well equipped.

Amazing stay!!

Spent 3 nights at this fantastic property. Clean, well stocked. Pictures accurate on the listing. Views of ocean take your breath away. Plenty of room for 3 couples. 10-15 minutes from town of Mendocino. We cannot wait for another opportunity to visit this beautiful place!

Great house on an amazing coast

The location and views are certainly the standouts for this property. While it was occasionally socked in with fog, most of the time we had at least partial visibility of Whitesboro Cove and the coast on the opposite side, but it was always a different view. I woke up one night at 3 am and it was completely clear with the lights from the Ledger House reflecting on the water below. The house seems to be perfectly preserved from the 70s, and is clean and well-appointed (except for lacking a broom) with modern appliances. Lots of room with 3 beds for my 2 kids to spread out. The hot tub with the ocean view was great, though the filter didn't seem to be working/running great. Lots of firewood and the big fireplace was easy to light and cozied up the house on colder nights. The location was great, five minutes from a small grocery that has all the basics and two nice restaurants, and a short drive to Mendocino that has everything. The really great part was that in either direction there are state parks everywhere with beach/tidepool access on the coast an often hiking trails in redwoods inland. I wish there was more access to the coast within the subdivision, but its all private so can't be helped (though vacant lots provided new views of the coast). Elk is 20~ mins south and has a great beach, cafes, and a cash only bar open on weekends that is something to experience. We had a great 4-night stay and wish we'd spent less time in SF and more here.

Beautiful setting, and a comfortable, clean house. The ocean views are stunning, and a short drive to parks for hiking and to Mendocino for shopping or restaurants. We ended up cooking for ourselves, and between kitchen and gas grill, had everything we needed for great meals overlooking the ocean.Beds were great, and sunsets and night sky were amazing. Certainly comfortable for six guests.We would definitely rent this property again.

Another great weekend in Mendocino

This is our second time using this property and we've loved it each time. The house is a perfect for a comfy, relaxing getaway. We had easy access to the sites in the area, but you don't have to leave to enjoy the area. The views are spectacular from the house!
