Relax and put your feet up in the cozy living area with a 55” TV. Modern updated kitchen with dining area. Coffee maker and full size washer and dryer included.

Enjoy the charcoal grill and outdoor fire pit on a concrete patio with a nice level yard.

This is our second stay and it won’t be our last! This house is so clean, comfortable and the owners thought of everything you could possibly want to feel like home away from home. The personal touches are amazing. We can’t wait to stay again!

Very clean and cozy. Home has been recently updated and includes very nice kitchen appliances and furniture. Host is responsive and helpful.

Great host and a fantastic property. This has to be the cleanest property we have ever stayed in and we travel a lot. Right next to downtown and only a short drive to LMU. If you have time, check out the Pinnacle Overlook. Incredible!

We had a lovely stay. The host was easy to contact and very responsive. The house itself suited our needs perfectly. The small touches like the s’mores kit and goodies left was a nice bonus.

We have stayed at Uncle Ernies a few times and have never been disappointed. Monica and Terry are awesome hosts! The home is always decorated beautifully and very clean. We will continue to stay here for our future visits to this area.

We absolutely loved our stay! This place is truly charming and inviting from the moment you walk in. Every detail is so thoughtfully done, making it both cozy and impressive. Such a great location with an easy walk to downtown, and the host went above and beyond to make our stay special. Highly recommend Uncle Ernie’s and can’t wait to visit again!

I can’t say enough wonderful things about this awesome home and the absolutely amazing owner. Place is spotless, all new, walking distance to town and the owner really thought of every detail. Having this place so close to LMU is my greatest find. The kindness that was displayed to me I will forever remember. Thank you for a great week!!!

I would rate this 10 stars if allowed. We use VRBO for all our stays and this was by far the best. The attention to detail was top notch. The hosts thought of every little possible detail to make our stay top notch. The place was immaculate and furnishings were beautiful and comfortable. Great location especially if you are visiting LMU. Lastly the hosts are so nice and very attentive. Book this place.. you won’t be disappointed.

Uncle Ernie's place was immaculate and full of charming details. It was a unique home, unlike anywhere we've stayed. Monica's communication was excellent, making our stay smooth and enjoyable. Plus, the location was perfect. Highly recommend!

Excellent stay in Middlesboro KY

The stay couldn't have gone better from contact and check in to check out. Questions were answered promptly. The house was an interesting combination of an historical kit house brought into the 21st century with some very nice upgrades. When I work in the area again, this is where I I'll be staying if available.

My husband and I were born and raised in Middlesboro, Ky. We currently rent to students attending Lincoln Memorial University Veterinarian and Medical School. This is our first and only VRBO. Still in our first year we are very open to suggestions that would make our guests more comfortable.

This house belonged to my great Uncle Ernest Wakin and Uncle Ernie's sister Louise. Uncle Ernie passed the house down to my husband and I. He loved people. Spent his very simple life taking care of others and visiting the patients in the Middlesboro Hospital every day. He loved company, so inviting people to stay at his home seemed appropriate and would make him smile. So, we didn't choose this neighborhood, it just happens to be in one of the greatest locations to stay in Middlesboro. Located 0.2 miles from the best steak in town. Shades Cafe and Steakhouse. Great Pizza at Ike’s Artisan Pizza which is just up the street from Shades. Coffee Shop and great sandwich shop all within .9 miles from Uncle Ernie's. Need groceries? 1.3 miles straight ahead is a Food City.

Uncle Ernie's is a 1950s all enameled steel Lustron Home. These homes were designed to address the post-World War ll housing shortage particularly for returning veterans. Trying to keep with its unique mid-century modern aesthetics, we have decorated with a mid-century flare. Only 2,500 of these homes were built. It is an Historical Landmark. Until its remodel the first of 2025 there was nothing made of wood. Even the kitchen cabinets were made of steel. It's a very interesting and unique home.
