Mom’s Place: Cozy Lake Glenville Cabin

Mom’s Place is a 2-story cozy mountain cabin that sits high on a mountain top overlooking Lake Glenville with total privacy, yet just minutes from Cashiers, Glenville, Highlands, Sapphire and easy access to Lake Glenville. The large deck’s comfortable seating, charcoal grill, and umbrella table are irresistible for bbq’s and killer views!! Mom’s Place is decorated with cozy leather furniture, old tools, rustic design features and modern touches. All beds are fluffy and comfy!!

Guests will have the entire house and property

There is a $75 dog guest fee which you can pay thru various payment methods. Sorry, cats are not allowed due to people’s allergies.
- if bringing a dog, the dog must be well behaved, flea free, house trained and not a chewer or scratcher.
- There is a $75 one time fee for a dog guest.
- cats are not allowed, sorry! too many people are allergic.
- An 8% fee will be charged for a reservation cancellation to cover 2 credit card processing fee events

Our stay at Mom’s Cabin was absolutely wonderful! The cabin was cozy, spotless, and filled with warmth — you can tell it’s been cared for with love. The highlight was definitely the balcony overlooking beautiful Lake Glenville — the view was breathtaking at every hour of the day.We enjoyed peaceful mornings with coffee while watching the light dance on the water, and quiet evenings surrounded by nature’s calm. The cabin had everything we needed, from a well-equipped kitchen to comfortable beds, making it the perfect mountain retreat.The hosts were welcoming, responsive, and made sure every detail was perfect. We left feeling refreshed and grateful — Mom’s Cabin is a true hidden gem by Lake Glenville!

Amazing views of the lake from the balcony.We had a special time with the family. Remote but in a good way. 15 min to Cashiers, 20 min from Highlands. We rented a boat on the lake and made memories.

Great trip

This property worked out great for us. We were attending a family reunion with family staying one street over but we wanted to bring our dog so we could stay the whole time. The view was beautiful and we had a great time.

Lake Glenville View

Mom's Place is simple, clean and cozy. It is located near the top of the mountain so it was very quiet. The view from the outside deck is great too. Lisa was very informative and easy to work with.

Wonderful get away!

The cottage was charming, well equipped and had a killer view. Being only 6 miles from town, it was the perfect combo of private and convenient. Lisa was a great hostess. Very friendly and so helpful. We enjoyed meeting her and are grateful she was willing to share her cottage with us. And great walks for our dogs!

Fabulous View

The house was exactly as advertised however the view of the lake was beyond what the photos show! We enjoyed countless hours on the deck enjoying the view. The house is rustic, quiet, and had everything we needed. The host was very communicative and addressed any questions or items timely.

fantastic view . . . but be aware

be prepared for a fantastic view . .. but no air-conditioning and poor ventilation made nights tough . . . this place is remote/access is an issue if you plan to go in-and-out to activities off-site. If you are simply planning to stay at the house, no problem. Just do it in the cooler weather of the fall and spring.

Perfect in every way

We enjoyed our stay at Moms place. Our first impression “ Wow, we could stay right here every day just enjoying that view.” The house is exactly as described. Comfortable in every way. We appreciated being able to bring our dog along. The deck has a door to fully enclose so we didn’t have to worry that she would wander off as we were enjoying the view outside. We did venture off in a different direction daily enjoying the Blue Ridge Parkway, Wineries in Hendersonville, many waterfalls, hiked Whiteside Mountain, etc. We truly enjoyed coming home to that view for Happy Hour then lighting the fireplace for the evening. I wouldn’t hesitate staying at Moms place next time we are in the area. We stayed the third week of October and would highly recommend for perfect fall foliage.

A glorious fall week with family

We loved our week at Mom’s Place. As others have noted, the view from the deck is the highlight. But the house itself is comfortable and clean and everything worked perfectly. My wife and I were there with our daughter, son-in-law and two grandchildren. It was a magical week, thanks to the beautiful weather and Ma’s Place. An added bonus was being able to meet Lisa at the annual fall festival in Cashiers. She is an attractive and delightful young lady and helped to add a personal touch to our week. Thank you, Lisa. We highly recommend this VRBO to anyone who likes the peace and quiet in nature with an incredible view and is willing to drive a short distance on a gravel road to get there.

Perfect getaway in every way!

First words out of our mouths when we arrived: "wow! this place is awesome!" While the pictures in the listing are true and accurately reflect the excellent condition of this property, seeing it in person exceeded our expectations! From the cleanliness of the house, the well-equipped kitchen, and the beautiful views from the "wall of windows" this property is everything you hope for in a vacation rental - plenty of room to kick back and relax, comfy beds for lazy mornings, a huge deck for eating and entertaining, and nature's beauty as far as the eye can see. Lisa takes pride in her homes - and that's exactly what you get - Mom's Place is your home away from home! As a repeat renter of Lisa's properties (she has a gorgeous rental in Savannah!), I can truly say that Lisa sets the bar high when it comes to great properties. You'll hate leaving Mom's Place and want to plan your next visit as soon as possible! Which is exactly what we did today... see you in April, Lisa!

Great stay in the woods of North Carolina

Rustic, cozy home/cabin tucked into the hillside/mountain looking over Lake Glenville. It was a great stay and the views of the lake from the deck are a great way to wake up. There were five of us and a couple of small dogs. It was perfect for a getaway in the mountains. The driving on the mountain roads did not bother us but if you are unfamiliar/dislike driving on dirt/gravel roads to get to the home it may not be to your liking or stay lower down on the side of the mountain. The host ensured we had everything we needed and wass easily accessible via phone or text. Cashiers is just down the mountain and accessible in 10-15 min car ride. There are numerous hikes, waterfalls, and leisurely walks in the woods anywhere b/n 15 minutes and 45 minutes away. The town of Highlands is about 20 minutes away. We were not lacking for a place to go on walks in brisk fall weather. Overall, we could not have asked for a better way to spend a secluded Thanksgiving with easy access to the outdoors!

Fabulous Family Fun!

Mom's Place was fantastic for our small family. We are two adults and a ten year old. Our son really enjoyed having the whole upstairs to himself, while we really enjoyed the privacy of the downstairs master. The cabin itself is easily accessed, and is not too far from town to cause any inconvenience. Lisa was EXTREMELY helpful on providing insight into all there is to see and do in the area. If there's one thing I learned, it's that it all CANNOT be done in a week! Our schedule was packed with adventures, and there's so much we missed out on! Regarding the cabin and its amenities: I concur with the previous reviewer. The beds were comfortable, the washer/dryer was fantastic, the kitchen was well-appointed. The board games and puzzle were a fantastic perk (we enjoyed both immensivesly). The water pressure was good in the bathrooms and kitchen, the view from the deck was spectacular! Over all, we COMPLETELY enjoyed our stay in the Cashiers/Highlands area and Mom's Place absolutely made our entire vacation more comfortable, relaxing, and fantastic!

Privacy at the "end of the road)

My husband and I stayed in July and even though there is no air conditioning it was quite comfortable as the owner had promised it would be since I HATE the heat. This was GREAT and made me actually look at potential properties to buy in the area. The home is nice and inviting it has rustic décor for a real old time feel. The kitchen was well stocked with pots pans, utensils almost every thing one would need to cook with if they brought their own food, which I did. Washer and dryer was great to have I brought less clothes and was able to by more stuff while I was there. The bed was comfortable and the house was clean and I am PICKY. The only thing I could complain about is there was no internet as stated and the television was very small and the drive to the house was gravel in hind sight next time I will bring a different vehicle and my own television. We had a wonderful stay meet some great people, the owner was great to work with and we even extended our stay. This is a great location not far from cashiers and highlands or DuPont Forest as well as Boat rentals at the marina to get on lake Glenville. Great shopping and sight sightseeing. I WILL be staying there again. Thanks for sharing your Grandparents home with us. Christina

Beautiful lake

We had a wonderful time still we found everything we needed. The host list was easy to get a hold of her. It feels amazing. Send it to the house is a bit challenging and will be bad definitely

Perfect reprieve

We spent much of our time on the fabulous porch enjoying the view. (Our dog became weirdly Zen, gazing out for hours on end at the beautiful lake.) Such a nice setting for reading books, taking long walks, cooking on the Weber grill, watching some Netflix. It was perfectly suited to our needs. Lisa's communications were super friendly and helpful.

Nature instead of street lights

For those who love a road less traveled, this is for you. The cabin is well stocked and clean. Great host. The view is hard to beat. You are on the end of a high point looking down the lake with fantastic sunsets. The cabin is nestled in the forest with the lake on 3 sides, so you can watch all the activity. Don't worry if you haven't got a boat, the people at the marina are great to work with and have nice rentals. I will be back next year when I am there for work. I suggest taking all your food and drink items with you, as it does take some time to get back to the local store. Pet safe. 5+ STARS!!!

Magical Getaway!

We LOVED staying at Mom's Place. Lisa this owner was so helpful and always at reach. The view was a grand slam! We basically sat on the deck for the most of the time, watching the boats..taking in the colorful trees. We drove around the area for a little while. But since We've been coming to Highlands for decades ..we just wanted to stay put ..be comfy and enjoy the view...and this was the best trip...the accommodations..HIT time for leaf peepers, weather...all wonderful. This cabin had the perfect view of most of the lake..not just a small portion or cut de sac. Next time I want to check in about renting a boat and take a ride around the lake! 10/10 experience!

Beats the standard Mountain View’s!

Wife and I were on NC Blue Ridge Parkway road trip and wanted to stop and relax a few days in the middle of the trip. We thought we would want the big Mountain View’s but really you see this all along the Blue Ridge Parkway at each overlook stop. So we opted for the lake view. mom’s Place did not disappoint. The lake seems to offer so many emotions through the day. Mornings start with misty fog rolling closer then clears as the days begin. Evenings show different shades on distant mountains as the sun sets. The remoteness provides the real ambience that you are actually alone in the forest to enjoy the view. The nearby trees give the feeling you are in a treehouse. Acorns actually fall on the deck. We used the BBQ each night, played board games and just enjoyed being alone. Our Facebook post responses appear to indicate that we are returning with lots of friends. This is a family lake home that has been passed down through generations and it was an honor to be a guest there. Thanks Lisa!
