Beautiful Lake Home on Charming Bad Axe Lake Near Park Rapids, Minnesota

Make yourself at home in this 3-bedroom Park Rapids retreat. Our cabin is located on a quiet, private lake. Bad Axe Lake is known for its clarity and great swimming waters. Fish for sunnies, crappies, bass, northern and muskie right off the dock. Bad Axe is home to Camp Wilderness, a camp for Cub Scouts and Scouting America Youth, Isle O’ Dreams Lodge, a great family resort, and several private family cabins and homes. It is next to popular Mantrap Lake, 10 minutes away from Zorbaz and Big Sand Lake. You can take a 15 minute drive into town to shop around, or a 10 minute drive to eat at the old Logging Camp. Itasca State Park is not to be missed and only 30 minutes away.

This cabin boasts a pleasant blend of comfort and charm, with two queen beds, a twin bed, bunk beds, and a full bed to accommodate all guests with a max occupancy of 6 guests. Enjoy a grill, campfire, dock, and deck off the cabin, the convenience of a washing machine and wifi during your stay. With 2 bathrooms featuring a bathtub and shower, your relaxation is guaranteed. Enjoy peaceful water with undeveloped wilderness views across the lake. We think our place will help you experience everything Park Rapids has to offer.

This is our family cabin, and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO KNOW:
There is NOT a public access for boats on Bad Axe, personal boats will not be allowed to enter into Bad Axe Lake. However, there is space to park your boat and trailer with many other public lake accesses nearby. *All members of Bad Axe Lake, and the lake association, are passionate about keeping invasive species out of the lake and it is their top priority to preserve the lake’s habitat. We hope you understand and please be respectful of this.

A canoe will be available for guests to use.

Although we love animals and understand they are a big part of families' lives, we cannot allow dogs and pets at our cabin.

No smoking on our property.

Our cabin is on a well and the water is high in iron. It can cause some discoloration in water.

We truly enjoyed this slice of paradise for the week. The home was well-stocked, clean, and spacious. Beautiful lake view from several rooms, enclosed porch, and decks. Wonderful outdoor space too - big yard. It was the perfect place to make wonderful memories with our college daughters!

We had an amazing weekend at this cabin. The location is perfect—right on the water with a great fishing deck where we had a blast catching panfish. The cabin itself was incredibly clean and spacious. We loved taking the canoe out into the lake for some peaceful birdwatching. Highly recommend!

Our overall stay on Bad Axe Lake was very nice and pleasant. We love the character of the home with the antiques and access to the water right from the deck. We saw many loons, eagles, swans, and listened to all the wildlife at night. Host/owners were very helpful and easy to communicate with and would definitely recommend for those looking for a quiet place to unplug.

We loved this property! A real rustic traditional cabin vibe! Host was super responsive and nice!Would definitely come back but we thought it needed a few things to make it a 5 rating:1) there were no water toys or anything to use on the water. Would really have enjoyed a paddle boat or 2 kayaks. The lake was beautiful ... really wanted to go out on it. 2) Exterior of cabin/roof/ gutters could use a good pressure washing and cleaning. Lots of cobwebs, spiders, old bird nests and dead branches and pine needles. I know its hard to keep up with these things in the north country but just an observation. But it was truly an old fashion cabin experience. We absolutely loved it!!

We loved our stay at this cabin on a clear, peaceful, and beautiful lake. We spent most days floating in the water listening to the loons. At night, we had a wonderful bonfire by the lake. Our family enjoyed our relaxing stay so much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake home. The cabin is lovely with Northwoods ambiance, is well-stocked, and provided plenty of room for the four of us. We were entertained daily by the resident great blue heron (we named him Aaron) who hung out on the dock every day, pileated woodpeckers, loons right in front of the cabin singing us to sleep, deer across the lake, and a bald eagle that landed in a tree right above the deck where we were sitting. We particularly enjoyed the log swing on the shore and listening to the loons. This place is magical, and we can't wait to stay here again!

This was my first VRBO experience. The host, the communication, the home, amenities and location from the home to the lake was phenomenal. Will stay here again. Home had everything we needed. This family of 5 adults and a 2 1/2 year old really enjoyed ourselves and felt very comfortable being there! Thank you for making this first VRBO experience so easy and perfect!

Being in a cabin on a lake is very therapeutic! We loved all the wildlife including the daily eagle/s that flew over. We loved the loon concerts day and night, and all the other bird song during the day. Canoeing was so fun. We were grateful for the A/C and having a porch. We were very lucky to not have any mosquitos. The beds were comfortable as was all the other furniture. We hope to come back to this cabin in the years to come.
