'Wildwood in the Pines' is a rustic log home with some elegant and unique features located in Jay, NY. This cozy cabin has pine interior, heated tile floors, and a beautiful rock fireplace. A fully equipped kitchen, living and dining area, loft, two large bedrooms, family room with rustic bar, laundry room, two full bathrooms and a large deck makes this an ideal four season getaway for a family or a group of friends.

'Wildwood in the Pines' is located less than 9 miles from Whiteface Mountain and only a 20 mile scenic ride to the Village of Lake Placid and the Olympic Center Complex. Montreal, Canada and Burlington, Vermont are less than two hours away (great day trips!)

The High Peaks area of the Adirondacks offers many activities such as hiking, golf, biking, rock climbing, kayaking, canoeing, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, ice skating, as well as shopping and fine dining in nearby Lake Placid. Fish in the Ausable River or swim in the famous 'Jay Swimming Hole'!

This quiet spot is also ideal for that much needed rest and relaxation. Read a book on the deck, take a walk, or relax in the whirlpool tub.

Beautiful home, well maintained, and very nicely nestled in the woods. There is a lot of up and down stairs as the main entrance is the basement level and kitchen is on the second floor. The only tv is in the loft (we wanted to catch the Bills game). Plenty of attractions, hiking, fishing in the area.

We enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It was very clean and cozy. We let Lorri know we would be arriving at night and she left the lights on for us which was very helpful. Cabin is located close to shopping and hiking, and we enjoyed relaxing at the cabin afterwards.

ADK Weeklong Vacation at Wildwood in the Pines

My wife, daughter, son-in-law, and 15 month old grand daughter enjoyed our vacation. The cabin is lovely, clean, well equipped, and beautifully situated amongst towering pines on a very quiet unpaved road. What worked especially well for us was having a bedroom and full bath on the first and second floors, which allowed both family units to have their own space while still getting together for meals and also on the nice deck off the front of the cabin. We went on several hikes (climbed Jay Mountain and Baxter Mountain), enjoyed sometime in Lake Placid, and took the gondola ride at Whiteface. Very enjoyable! The hostess Lorri was also very communicative and helpful.

Perfect Adirondack Cabin

The cabin was great for a family long ski weekend. The Adirondack style was perfect. It was well stocked with everything needed for our party of 6. The radiant heating in the floors was an extra special touch. It is very accessible to Whiteface for a day at the slopes and some local restaurants and bars in Wilmington and neighboring towns.

Clean and comfortable chalet

A very cozy stay. all amenities were on point and the place was very clean and well maintained. Only thing that I'd say is missing is a wood burning fireplace, but the heated floors almost fully make up for that. Overall great stay, highly recommend and would rebook.

Cute house on a wooded lot in the area of Jay known as Ausable Acres. It is a bit of a drive from the main road. Kitchen is well supplied with salt, pepper, sugar, sugar, and tea. There is a drip coffeemaker, so you will need your own ground coffee. Dish, dishwasher, hand and laundry soap provided. You will need your own shampoo and shower soap. (this is not a complaint--just a heads-up on what to pack and what you can leave home).

Amazing stay in a great cabin in the woods

The cabin is clean, cozy, and comfortable. The outdoor area is secluded enough but also not too remote. The location is near whiteface, lake placid, and lake saranac. It is ideal for those locations. Lorri was an awesome host and always responded to questions in a timely manner. I would definitely stay again and strongly recommend it to others.

Lovely cabin with all the amenities.

We enjoyed a very relaxing, comfortable vacation and hope to return! The cabin was very clean and cozy. It had everything we needed in the way of linens and for food preparation and dining. Everything worked as expected. Lorri always responded quickly to any questions. We brought our little Norwich Terrier and had to carry her up and down the stairs to and from the main floor, but if stairs are no problem for you then I highly recommend this as a wonderful place to stay!

Wilderness / Hiking Experience

The cabin was outstanding! The pics do not do it justice. Cole enough to Wilmington and Lake Placid so we could enjoy the sights/restaurants yet far enough away to see deer and wildlife in the woods next to the cabin. Rained at night so we did not get to enjoy the fire pit area but it’s very inviting. And the owners were extremely friendly and a pleasure to work with. We will be back! Tom and Amy

July 4th Girls Weekend

This is a lovely, remote property. We had everything we needed for a quiet girls weekend. The kitchen was well equipped and there were a ton of nice touches that I really appreciate in a rental; baggies and tinfoil for leftovers, tissues in the bathrooms and bedrooms, paper towels, etc. You never realize you miss these things until you don’t have them! There was also plenty of space to lounge and either be together or separate into groups. The porch is perfect for having morning coffee and tea - we had a few hummingbirds come to visit! The fire pit is terrific and there was plenty of wood. The water pressure is GREAT which is SO nice after a ten mile hike! Everything was very clean and even the towels smelled nice. The loft ran a bit warm during the day but cooled off quickly with the window open in the evening. The first floor was nice and cool and there were plenty of extra sheets and blankets, but we didn’t need them. This is just a really lovely cabin with thoughtful touches everywhere - we will definitely rent here again.
