Peaceful 3BR Getaway - Stars, Views & Privacy
Escape to a serene 3BR/2BA retreat on a gated acre in Ocean View, Hawaiʻi. Features include luxury finishes, spacious open living, a fully equipped kitchen, and a wrap-around lanai with swing, BBQ, and fire pit. Enjoy peekaboo ocean views, stunning sunsets, and crystal-clear starry skies without city lights. Quiet, private, and beautifully maintained—just 45 mins to Kona, 90 to Hilo. Perfect for relaxing, exploring, and feeling at home in paradise.
This home sits on a gated, one-acre lot atop an old lava flow, surrounded by native Ohiʻa Lehua trees—culturally significant and full of life. Colorful birds, including species found only in Hawaiʻi, often visit the yard, especially during a warm afternoon rain. It’s a peaceful, vibrant setting that brings you close to nature.
Located at a higher elevation than Kailua-Kona, the weather here is typically cooler and more comfortable. While we provide a portable AC for your comfort, many guests find the ocean breezes and ceiling fans more than enough. On cooler evenings, enjoy the cozy warmth of the electric fireplace.
Our home runs on a sustainable rainwater catchment system. You may notice the large tank in the yard—rainwater is collected from the roof and used for drinking, bathing, and laundry. A UV water sanitizer ensures the water is clean and safe for use. It’s an eco-friendly system we’re proud of and one we think you’ll appreciate too.
The home is yours to enjoy during your stay!
For safety and privacy, the following areas are off-limits:
The garage (unless you've been given the access code by the host)
The water catchment tank
Any attic access doors
The concrete pads and construction area behind the home
The concrete pad between the fig tree and the water tank on the side of the house
Thanks for your understanding!
We may or may not be around while you stay. Please feel free to reach out through the app and we will be glad to help you!
Our home is in a beautiful, natural setting on the Big Island, where you'll likely encounter local wildlife. Feral chickens are common and love food scraps—feel free to feed them! You may occasionally spot feral cats nearby, and while we haven’t seen pigs on the property, they have been seen in the area.
As with any tropical location, bugs are part of the environment. You may encounter moths, mosquitoes, stinging insects, scorpions, centipedes, cockroaches, and more. While we maintain regular pest control, housekeeping, and maintenance, keeping doors and screens closed helps prevent them from coming inside. We recommend bringing bug spray and being mindful of your surroundings. Please note, bugs are not a reflection of cleanliness, and we cannot offer refunds for occasional sightings.
You’ll be staying in a local neighborhood, so you may hear roosters, dogs, kids playing, or yard work. More often, though, you’ll enjoy the peaceful sounds of birds singing and breezes in the trees.
At night, the coqui frogs sing their iconic chorus—especially after rain. Some guests find them soothing; others prefer to mask the sound. Closing windows works well, and we provide a sound machine in one bedroom for extra comfort.
The nightly rate includes Hawaiʻi State and County Transient Accommodations Tax and General Excise Tax.

Acerca del anfitrión
Anfitrión: Jennifer Reyes

We live part time in Gilroy, CA and the rest of our time is spent in our beautiful home in Hawaii. We love to snorkel, swim, enjoy the wildlife, check out local businesses and explore this incredible āina. We recently had the privilege of witnessing episode 15 of the eruption at Kīlauea, and it was truly once in a lifetime. We decided to share our home because our plans to relocate full time were pushed out for a few years.
Por qué eligió esta propiedad
I love this neighborhood. The sense of community is so strong, and you will feel it at our local farmers markets, swap meets, restaurants and markets. The longer you stay, the more friends you will make. This community is full of aloha! We have young children and there are many other young families to connect with if you know where to go, and it’s priceless seeing our babies play with the chickens and run freely in the yard with the sunshine on their faces.
Qué distingue a esta propiedad
We have peekaboo views of the ocean, beautiful ohia lehua trees, and because we spend a lot of time at the home, we think it is well stocked to help you pack your your car and head out on an adventure each day. The property is private, tranquil and beautiful.
