Way Over Yonder - A Private Beach Property

A serene location on the white sandy Chesapeake Bay where you may go all day without seeing another soul. Come out in the early morning to see the porpoises play and at dusk for some magnificent sunsets.
This home is huge and has plenty of space and levels for multiple families and/or generations.
Owners live on-site on separated lower level, guest interaction with owners is up to renters. Owners can provide special services upon guest request for additional fees, this includes and is not limited to grocery shopping, childcare, meal preparation, cooking, fishing or nature tours, etc.
Main floor includes handicap accessible room, with queen bed, and bathroom, kitchen, living area, dining room, library, which has a futon.
Top level includes a living area with a queen pullout, three bedrooms, large bathroom, master suite with bathroom, and laundry room.

Wonderful Home

This home was perfect for the 20 of us and we would rent it again if we have another family reunion in that part of the country. The property managers were excellent and the location is ideal. The house itself is spacious and we didn't feel on top of each other because it has plenty of open space.

Great property, wonderful beach, well furnished for a amazing vacation get away

This property has a great location, wonderful private beach, and a very nicely equipped vacation home. It has everything you could want, great kitchen with everything you could need. Plenty of things for our 10 grandchildren to do, biking, fishing and playing in the ocean. Great time again, this was our second year in a row to vacation at this property.

Peaceful and relaxing.

The home was beautiful, the picture online did not do it any justice. The beach was really nice and so was the back deck. My family enjoyed their stay. The beach was a bit of a hike with the kids and chairs, i think it would've been easier if there was a walk out boardwalk. That would've made us enjoyed going to the beach even more. We had a bit of a fly situation, getting into the house as there were no screens on the patio doors. Other than that we enjoyed the place. The owners were really welcoming and sweet. I enjoyed hearing their stories.

Plenty of room!

The house was perfect for our family of 19 with plenty of beds, room to spread out, games and books, and extra items for the beach. Our only complaint was how far the walk to the beach was. It was hard to carry everything. Otherwise, the house made for a fun week in Cape Charles. We crabbed, fished, swam in pool and bay, played cards and games, ate lot and went to Brown Dog Ice Cream. Stingrays has great breakfast.

Wonderful vacation!

We enjoyed another beautiful week at Cape Charles! So much to do with our private beach and pool nearby. This year we found the fresh water lake which my grandson fell in love with. Went to Brown Dog every night! We were blessed with perfect weather which made the week all the better. Thank you for another week of precious memories at Way Over Yonder!

Best Vacation ever mentioned a few times.

We were a group of 18, multi generation family. We have rented houses in the past in NY, SC, NC and Florida. This was pretty much everyone's favorite spot. The owners went above and beyond to help us. The private beach, about a 3 min walk, was incredible. Highly recommended!!

We all loved it

The home had everything by one could want or need. The kitchen was beautifully appointed and so easy to work in. The home was child friendly and great for my elderly Mom as well. I can't say enough positive things about this house and it's wonderful Owners. They did everything possible to make our dream vacation come true. We want to reserve the same date for next year if possible.

Amazing home and gracious owners, who even had a treasure hunt for my grandchildren!

First summer vacation we've been able to have with all the family in a good while. We had 18 and didn't feel on top of each other. So much to do, beach, bikes, crabbing. On bad weather days , go to walk the lovely cape Charles and grab ice cream at Brown Dog. We will cherish memories forever!

Very relaxing spot with a great private beach!

Great house and location! A few improvements (mattresses, internet connectivity, additional fridge, better cookware) and it would be a gem.

Great reunion location

Beautiful and comfortable home nestled in a lovely location on the bay.

We have enjoyed this home more than once and plan to return again. The owners are attentive and provide a welcoming atmosphere for small and large groups alike. The home is surrounded by old-growth trees and tucked just beyond rolling dunes which lead to a gorgeous private beach. The home is in a waterfront neighborhood but is situated so you feel like there is no one else around for miles. The storybook-like path through the dunes has natural beauty at every turn with wild flowers and wildlife in abundance. We plan to spend more time in this wonderful place.

First family vacation with all of the grandchildren

Way over Yonder really accommodated our family. We ended up with 11 grandchildren and 10 adults staying and we had plenty of room. The house was perfect for us and we didn't have to be worried about actually living there for a week! One of our children could only come for vacation from Wednesday the 20th through Wednesday the 27th, and even though they normally rent from Saturday to Saturday, the owners accommodated to our needs. Definitely 5 thumbs up! Our kids were from less than 1 year old to 8 years old and they ALL loved the private beach. The pool was really nice and just a short walk from the house. It was perfect. Again, the house was absolutely what our family needed and there was so much room we all had our "own quiet space" if we needed to get away from it all. Many of us had never been to Cape Charles, VA and I must say, we really loved it. The house provided kayaks, bikes, beach toys and chairs along with a play area for the kids. Our family hasn't had a full week together in many years, so thank you, Cynthia and Gary, for helping us create wonderful memories.

Way Over Yonder is not that far

and Definitely worth the trip. A beautiful, spacious home nestled in the woods with towering pines, a short walk over the dunes to a private beach with great views and amazing sunsets. The home is well maintained and equiped suitable for large families or groups. If you have to venture off property check out Holmes Presbyterian Church (10 am Sunday Morning); grab some local fresh seafood from the stand across from Food Lion; experince breakfast (or any meal) at Stingrays; for fine dining The Oyster Farm at the Marina Village in Cape Charles; the Shanty in Cape Charles and finish off with a trip to the Brown Dog Ice Cream Shop. Bring your bike the road leads to the State Park with numerous trails and connects to the Federal Wildlife Preserve further south on route 13(checkout the Butterfly trail); golf is a must at Bay Creek either the Palmer or the Nicklaus or both (thanks to the Byler's for arranging tee times!). Marvelous place, Marvelous time!

AMAZING HOME!!! Beautiful views, relaxing & enjoyable stay. :)

My family, friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the home. The house is very large, so we had plenty of space for everyone, yet we still were close enough to be able to enjoy each others' company. The private beach (which is walking distance from the house) was also a great feature! The walk to the beach, and even the beach itself was beautiful, relaxing, and very enjoyable. No matter your age, or reason for traveling, you would definitely want to stay in this beautiful home. :) We absolutely LOVED the home, and would definitely stay again, and again!

Beach home with a view!

What an amazing home! So much room. So much quiet. Great getaway location. The view of the water from the master bedroom is amazing. We enjoyed the spacious rooms, fantastically appointed kitchen, outdoor fire-pit, and the propane grills on the back deck. Can't wait to come back at the end of the summer.

Great house; awesome service

The house is perfect for big groups. We rented for a wedding in the area and besides that, didn't have to leave the house for anything else. Also the service was great. Gary went above and beyond to help us put the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight at the property and ensure we felt at home. Thanks again for everything.

Very nice home and very good value

Way Over Yonder was a very good choice for our golf trip. Plenty of room for 10 guys and only 10 minutes from a terrific golf facility called Bay Creek. Gary and Cynthia were very attentive and responsive hosts and arranged significantly discounted greens fees for our group. A couple good restaurants and bars in nearby Cape Charles complement the quiet and relatively secluded setting where the house is located, 100 yards from the Chesapeake Bay. Thumbs up!

Ideal for active multi-generation vaca

Way Over Yonder is ideal for a large group. We had 12 people, ranging in age from 7-84. The indoor spaces were expansive. Plenty of great books and games, in addition to the amenities shown. Room to be together and room to be apart in small groups. The kitchen was large and well stocked to prepare meals for a big family. We ate many meals on the deck overlooking the natural landscape. The beach was beautiful and private. The kids enjoyed finding sand dollars, trying to catch ghost crabs, and fishing in the surf for whiting and spot. We rented kayaks and enjoyed padding along the beach. The path leading to the beach has a top layer of soft sand limiting access by some in our group. We knew it was a short walk, but had imagined the beach being a bit closer. Those who could make the walk thoroughly enjoyed it. The nearby town of Cape Charles has a morning's worth of very nice shops and a small number, but great restaurants. Ice cream at Brown Dog, breakfast at the coffee house are a must. Lastly, we fished the bay with Top Dog charters, and caught the biggest red drum we'd ever seen. One more thing, once you arrive, talk to the locals about their must see stops because much of the charm of the shore comes from stuff you can't find on the internet.

Large family vacation

Having just returned from a week at Way Over Yonder, I can definitely say that it was a week enjoyed by every member of our large family. We have vacationed in oceanfront cottages on the Outer Banks for the last 40 years, and so we approached this vacation not quite knowing what to expect. I can honestly say that this spot exceeded my expectations in every way. The house was clean and very well maintained. The roomy house, large decks, comfortable furniture and beds, and large kitchen were all wonderful to experience. The beauty of the property is indescribable. The walk to the beach takes you from one ecosystem to another with the woods, sand, and sea oats. The beach was truly amazing. And the fact that there was no one sitting right on top of us made it all the better. The bay was perfect for swimming, kayaking, paddle boarding, and just relaxing. This house and location really made me want to come back again and again. I will always love the Outer Banks, but I also love this magical location.

Peaceful -Secluded beautiful beachfront!

This place is amazing! Excellent & delightful stay. Large TV's, Pool table, fireplaces & fire pit. Spacious beach front home with tons of space for a small or large group, lots of privacy between three levels.Clean and cozy even though it is so large! I highly recommend you experience it for yourself : )

beautiful, private, clean

WE arrived and were pleasantly surprised at the spaciousness of the property. We have small children and there was a play area right outside that they enjoyed tremendously. The deck was safe for them to play. The views were amazing especially from the deck off of the upstairs bedroom. The beach was a safe distance away and the children were not in danger of wandering there. Thank you so much for opening this property to be enjoyed by others. The book selection was marvelous and I do agree with another writer, the pictures just do not do this property justice.

Delightful In Every Way

This house has it all, and our group of 15 adults was delighted. It's hard to imagine a better house for a large gathering of beach lovers. It was clean, well equipped and climate controlled for our comfort. We would go again.
