Clean and cozy. 2 good sized bedrooms. Great wet room/ shower. Kitchen has everything you need and then some. Lovely wooded area and close to Moffat. The home has a great patio which we couldn’t enjoy because of the weather. And an alternate ramp entrance which was very appreciated. The birds in the feeder outside the window were an added bonus. We had such a pleasant stay and Karen was a wonderful host. Thank you!

Lovely stay at The Bothy! It was such a nice cottage and location. Felt immediately at home. Loved the garden and that we could feed the birds!

Secluded but close enough to shops restaurants etc.Karen is the perfect host.

The Bothy is a lovely cottage to stay, the area is beautiful and great for walking. It is very dog friendly and the little touches like dog treats, towels to dry them, poo bags and head torches everything has been thought of.The Bothy is well equipped with everything you need, it was very clean and the beds are very comfortable.Karen is a great host very helpful with any questions you may have. We would definitely recommend and we will return.

The Bothy is in a beautiful, scenic location a few minutes drive from Moffat. The owner, Karen, lives in a neighbouring property. She always manages to strike a happy balance of being invisible when you want to enjoy aome privacy whilst being available and helpful ir you ever need any assistance. The property is lovingly curated, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The gardens are a haven for wildlife, with a well-positioned bird table atrracting many colourful species such as nuthatches, woodpeckers and greenfinches. Early evening sees wild rabbits feeding on the lawns and we even spotted a golden eagle close to the driveway. Moffat is an attractive town with good shops and restaurants. The Bothy makes a great base for exploring the wonderful Dumfries & Galloway region, amd Karen is a font of knowledge on all the best stuff to do in the area. Would definitely recommend this property.

What a delightful stay! Karen could not have been more kind and welcoming. The Bothy is lovely, well appointed, cozy and very well located, close to the town and hiking. Karen has thought of everything for The Bothy, including a wonderful library of books on the local area. Walking/hiking from The Bothy is brilliant. The back garden is spectacular and the birds and the bird feeder were a constant source of entertainment. Suzy and Radley are Karen’s cutest doggies. If you are considering the Moffat area, we could not recommend The Bothy highly enough. We will be back for another visit.

The Bothy was a lovely place for a break away. Quiet but close to Moffat and beautiful walks all around. Karen was a wonderful host along with her dogs Suzy and Radley. Communication was quick and helpful. We loved the wood burning fire in the evenings. Thank you Karen for letting us enjoy The Bothy. Will definately be back in the future.

My wife, daughter and dog Pumpkin had a wonderful stay at the Bothy. Karen was the perfect host, loved Pumpkin and had thought of everything to make our stay a perfect. The Bothy is located on the edge of beautifully secluded woodland and yet just moments from Moffat and transport. My only complaint is that I didn’t decide to stay here for our holiday rather than continuing up the road. We will be back! Thank you Karen, see you next year :)

Our family was visiting the United Kingdom for the very first time from Toronto, Canada and we were extremely impressed with this home. Our road trip landed us in various hotels, but this one stood out exceptionally over the others! The house was so cozy, that we all felt like it was our second home. Our main highlight was our quality of sleep in the super comfortable (and super warm) beds, as well as the cozy living room where we all gathered every evening. The location is incredibly peaceful and serene, this made our stay feel relaxing. Since the home was located near the highway, we were able to easily access Edinburgh and various gorgeous castles nearby for our day trips. Overall, this home is the perfect place to bring a family looking to experience Scotland in a lovely way. Highly recommended!

Porch is a plus to sit on in the morning sun. Should weather permit the patio off the bedroom is quiet. Area is very quiet.

My fiancee and I went for a long (4 day) weekend and LOVED it. Karen was a wonderful host. Greeted us when we first arrived but then left us to ourselves unless we had an questions. The bothy was decorated and set up to the highest standard. Karen had left milk, tea, coffee and biscuits which was a lovely welcome. We both commented on all the lovely touches or equipment that Karen had thought about. It is literally 5-6 minutes drive off the M74, but you feel like you are in the middle of a forest. My partner LOVED sitting in the garden listening to, and photographing, all the bird life. Very secluded and private. We loved our time there and will definitely be going back!!
