Hills, sunsets,great walks,pub which does pub grub...

Getting around.lots of interesting places in the area to drive to Ayr on the coast Dumfries and Drumlanrigg Castle.

Other things to note the sheep wander freely and cut the grass all year round!(sorry no pets)

Logs in log store outside to keep you warm.
During the winter(if there’s snow) the area is ideal for skiing and sledging....lots of down hills.....

Wonderful

We had a wonderful stay at the cottage, we felt at home immediately. It was perfect for the two of us. Stunning views all around!

Amazing remote location

Loved our stay here and visited the local inn for tea. It was a nice retreat from out travelling the SWC300 on our Harley. I would definitely advise a trip in the lead mines and museum

Perfect secluded break

Delightful cottage in a pretty village. Excellent location for touring the Dumfries and Galloway countryside, and lovely coming back each evening to this beautifully presented retreat.

Rural Tranquillity

A lovely, character cottage within easy reach of the M74, Ayr and the coast. Very peaceful and quiet.

Lovely wee cottage

Lovely wee cottage for couples. The day we arrived was torrential rain and the clouds were almost at the front door. The cottage was spotless, the fridge stocked with supplies and with the weather being so bad we were delighted to discover the wood burner ready to light and a plentiful supply of logs. Thankfully the weather improved over the rest of our stay and we were able to get out walking in the hills. Beautiful place and highly recomended.

Perfect Home from Home

Every part of this experience was superb. The cottage is a beautiful haven of tranquility in the highest village in Scotland. From first contact to last Sue was excellent. Communication is key to renting and Sue was perfect, all messages were answered promptly and with great detail. I had many odd questions and Sue answered with clarity and patience. Even down to directions to the cottage and Sat Nav errors. The cottage itself had everything, and more. The welcome pack with enough essentials and some luxuries too was a really nice touch. The whole guest experience had been thought out and mapped beautifully. The fire had been stocked and stoked and ready to go. If you’re going to stay in Scotland and you want an idyllic cottage in a classic Scottish village then this is it. This cottage has everything you need for a romantic getaway, away from modern life. Clodagh and Andy were perfect guests. They used the cottage and left it clean and tidy...Thankyou. And so glad the weather was kind....ish and the Wildfire Festival was good. Hope to maybe catch up next year. Regards Suex and Sandyx
