This is the perfect little cabin on a lake for a getaway with the family, friends, or significant other. We had so much fun paddling around the lake and enjoying the beauty of Door County!

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Le Hut. We are a family of 4 with two teenagers. The lake, paddle boards and kayaks were such entertainment for the kids, plus the sunsets and fire pit made for delightful family evenings. The cabin is exactly as described. Cozy, clean, so comfortable. The host’s communication was clear and appreciated. We can’t wait to come back.

Great Spot for a Weekend Getaway

The property was easy to find. Everything was very coean and organized. The views were phenomenal. Highly recommend staying here.

Cute cottage, clean and well stocked! Beautiful lake lot, with paddle boards, kayaks, yard games and nice fire pit. Nice location. Had a great time and our family of four really enjoyed our stay.

The area was beautiful and there were fun restaurants and a winery nearby. The cabin was thoughtfully stocked with most things anyone might need while away from home. We had some fun with the kayaks and trying out one of the paddle boards.

Girls Weekend

We came to “Le Hut” to celebrate my mom’s 68th birthday. She had never been to Door Co. “Le Hut” was the perfect spot to come back to after a day of adventures. The cabin is clean and cozy, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable.

Great location, but double check amenities list

Great location, beautiful lake view, quiet, and private! Convenient home base for traveling around Door County. Host was easy to contact during our stay. Nice to have a dog friendly option with a big yard. The listing mentioned a coffee maker which was not present, showed photos of extra hand towels/washcloths which were not available, and we only had access to the kayaks for the last 24 hours of our 3-night stay. Not the end of the world, but we would have appreciated a more accurate listing so that we could have planned/packed these desired items accordingly. Also be aware that if the water softener regenerates in the middle of the night, it is very loud.

READ: Exposed Insulation Above Beds

Within 20 minute of check-in, I informed the owner of the many gaps in the ceiling with exposed insulation and his response was "it is old" and he sees no need for repairs. Having lived in numerous homes, some built in the 1800s, exposed Insulation above the beds, in the kitchen, and living room is not acceptable. Owner has only offered 1 night refund or our 3 night booking. If the description had said "gaps in the ceiling with exposed insulation" we would never have booked here. Please see pictures of gaps-- that the owner says are normal and ok..

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to write a review. As you mentioned, our cottage was not what you expected and we refunded you for one night of your stay, even though it was well within our rights to refuse any refund. We even said you were welcome to use the property (for the lake and toys, even if you didn't like the cottage) for the remainder of your stay. We responded to your complaint within minutes and did not simply say "it's old." We expressed that our simple cottage is not for everyone and that we'd come check it out to make sure there wasn't any safety issue. We've had many renters this summer (just a day before you arrived, in fact) who have enjoyed the place without issue. As you can see from your photo, it was necessary for you to zoom in to see the insulation at all. After VRBO received our many photos and videos, they agreed that our space was fit to rent. Our cabin is inspected every year to maintain our short-term rental permit. There are no health or safety concerns. It just wasn't for you - and that's okay. I hope you were able to enjoy your trip to Door County and that your future experiences with rentals are better. Thanks!

We had an absolutely wonderful stay here! The outdoor space and yard were incredible! It gave us that perfect, secluded feel, but it was still so nice to see neighbors out on their docks or boats during the day. The yard was an absolute dream for our dog; she loved having so much space to roam and hang out. We enjoyed a nice bon fire and stargazing!!The dock and lake views are truly unbeatable. As for the house itself, it was the ideal size for the two of us and our pup to unwind, relax, and totally unplug. The location is super convenient for getting from town to town with a short drive to lots of great food, drinks, and things to do. We loved making trips over to Sister Bay, Egg Harbor, and Baileys Harbor. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!
