Welcome to the Nordic Hearth Cottage, a charming, historic three bedroom log home! This beautiful getaway with newly restored fireplace is set on an acre of land on Townline Drive, equidistant from the villages of Ephraim and Sister Bay, and right in the heart of Door County. Find shopping, restaurants, galleries, and a spa within steps of Nordic Hearth Cottage. By car, our central location on the peninsula puts our guests only minutes away from beaches, wineries, trolley tours, dozens of outdoor activities, and the breathtaking scenery that Door County has to offer!
Full of natural light and whimsical Scandinavian touches, this cozy cottage combines old world charm with all the comforts of home. Towels and bed linens are provided, and the newly remodeled bathroom is stocked with bar soap, toilet paper, and a hair dryer. Each of the bedrooms has a dresser and spacious closet, so unpack and make yourself at home! The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to prepare and serve home-cooked meals, and the open dining concept makes the space perfect for family gatherings. Stock up on groceries from the Piggly Wiggly just two miles from the cottage in Sister Bay, and help yourself to the tea and coffee we’ve already provided!
Nordic Hearth is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy some time away from it all. Get comfy in the living room and browse satellite TV channels, stream your favorite shows from your mobile device, or spend quiet time in the sunroom, (enjoy fantastic views of the sunrise/sunset!!), get lost in a book; or take in the beautiful surroundings as you lounge on the deck. The property’s large yard is the perfect place to make the most of Door County summer nights and stargaze away from city lights. Or, if you visit us in the winter, spend your evenings cozied up by the wood-burning stone fireplace- newly renovated. We also provide books, DVDs, and board games for rainy days. Family Annual Vacation with adult children

Beautiful cottage perfect location. Well equipped kitchen. Loved the outdoor fire pit and the sunroom in the house. We really enjoyed our stay. Need to be aware there are no A/C vents in the upstair bedrooms and it can get very hot in the summer. Not sure this was on the listing. The last night it got so hot upstairs window upstairs had to be opened. The only other issue was the master bed broke where the laminated railing connected to a metal bracket that fit in a slot in the railing. Called owner and advised it broke when my wife and I first got into bed to read.

The coziest cottage

Julia’s cottage is truly the coziest and cutest property we have stayed at in Door County! It is very accommodating for families, especially ones with young children! It’s in a perfect location and Julia was very quick to respond to any questions we had. We highly recommend staying here, you won’t regret it!

Cozy cottage!

Julia was a fantastic host and we loved the property! The cottage was so cute and had an extremely well stocked kitchen. We loved the personal touch of fresh flowers in the rooms as well! Everything was wonderful with our stay and we would highly recommend this stay to anyone looking to explore door county.

We absolutely loved staying at the cottage! My wife, son, and I enjoyed the cozy fireplace, and the place had everything we needed! The cottage is beautiful and well maintained. It is in a great location to access the state parks and the hosts were wonderful! We will definitely return! Thank you!

Charming, Clean, and Cozy Cottage

Very nice house that was perfect for a relaxing family weekend in Door County. The house has a lot of historic charm, is very well decorated, and has a nicely updated bathroom and kitchen. You will feel right at home. Host is very responsive.

Best Time at this Door County Cottage!

The cottage was clean and beautifully decorated! Julia left clear and easy to follow check-in and check-out instructions. The cottage is located in the heart of Door County, so we were able to explore the downtown areas of several towns, rent bikes, and go hiking, all without spending a lot of time in the car. We had the best time and hope to be back!

First Vacation in DC

We enjoyed our first stay in DC in this home. The home was fully equipped with all the essentials, was clean, and in a great location close to many attractions but far enough that it was quiet and pleasant. We enjoyed sitting by the fire pit at night . Julia was very responsive and nice. Recommend this place especially for families with young children.

Great location and very comfortable

Host went out of their way to create a home that felt very easy to live in, comfortable and inviting. Great location, very quiet. We really enjoyed the sunroom in the morning and cozy family room at night.

Sister trip

This house was a wonderful place to stay with my sister and our kids. Beds were comfortable, kitchen had everything you would need, house was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed coffee on the front porch each morning, it was fun to see the hummingbirds eating from the feeder. We enjoyed bonfires and star gazing at night. The neighborhood was quiet but close to a few fun things (mini golf, shops, farmers market). I’d stay again!

Family Reunion in DC

This property was in a great location- just minutes to both downtown Ephraim & Sister Bay! The home was more charming in person than the photos show. We loved the live plants and fresh wildflowers placed throughout the home. The kitchen was well-equipped & the bathroom had plenty of towels for our group of 6. Our only (mild) problem was the lack of A/C ventilation upstairs so the upstairs bedrooms would stay toasty while the downstairs very cool. Also will note that the stairway going to the upstairs was a little bit steep for older people and tall people will have to duck at the bottom to avoid hitting their head. Overall we had a great time & would stay here again!

Love, love love!!

My friend and I stayed in this beautiful home for the weekend while visiting Door County! The home was part of why we had such a wonderful weekend. It is so comfortable, beautifully decorated and had everything we needed to relax. We plan to return to Sister Bay and stay in this lovely home again!
