Fantastic house and view

Pictures don’t do it justice. What a beautiful house! It had ample room for everyone and the indoor pool was incredible.

Beautiful home

The house itself is amazing. I can’t imagine how lovely it was in its prime. In need of maintenance, landscaping clean up and repair property wide but the bedrooms were all comfortable and our group enjoyed their stay.

Spacious and clean

Our family enjoyed a relaxing couple of days in this beautiful home. It was spacious enough to accommodate a large extended family of adults from 20 to 80 years old without ever feeling crowded. There are large ares for gathering together, as well as, small private areas to sit quietly by yourself, both inside and out. The cleaning crew does an incredible job of keeping this large space spotlessly clean. We enjoy cooking together and found the kitchen to be well stocked with every tool your could need in addition to a variety of herbs and spices. There are some maintenance issues that need addressing but nothing that could tarnish a great family vacation.

Amazing House

This was a great house for our family. We had a large group of adults and kids and honestly didn't even use much of the house, that's how big it is. The pool is very large and great for swimming. If you're looking for a house big enough to fit your extended family, this is a great choice and Niwot has a lot to offer. If you're looking for a premium luxury rental, this may not be the place for you. There are many small maintenance issues that did not impact our stay, but might bother you if you're looking for a pristine house with no flaws.

In disrepair, unkept, property, in total, is not inline with price. Owner is simply exploiting customers until the negative reviews catch up with him. Should be delisted by vrbo.

Lovely home that needs some love

The home was massive. The bedrooms and furniture were well appointed. We all enjoyed swimming in the pool. The issues we had were with the property’s upkeep/maintenance. It is obvious that the home isn’t lived in, just renters. There were multiple door handles, faucets, appliances that fell off or did not work. The AV equipment in the theatre didn’t work appropriately. We had a lovely time and the house sleeps loads of people.

We are disappointed we received our first less than 5 star reviews. It was a very busy summer and these guests checked in within 4 hours of each other. You can imagine only having 4 hours to clean 22,000 Sq ft, it’s a major task and that doesn’t include the massive exterior patios. We are sorry if our cleaners missed anything. We did have an issue with one of the dishwashers but since there are 5 in the home we did not want to inconvenience the guests by having repair techs in the home during their stay. We have since replaced that dishwasher. The washer and dryer do work, they are Asko and are a little more complicated to run. We have updated our instructions so guests can operate them easier.

Beautiful, expansive house ideal for large groups.

We had a great stay at this very upscale property. The pool and views were great features as were the bedroom accommodations. The common spaces could easily hold over 100 guests! We had our dinners outside and those were catered by two local companies which did an excellent job. The kitchen was not as well equipped as most houses we have used on VRBO. If you have more than 6 guests, plan on bringing your own dishes, utensils, glasses, etc. We had the caterers supply those items. The house was also missing some other common items like a corkscrew, bottle opener, wine glasses, and can opener. We had a great stay but had to make a few runs to the store to fill in for the missing items.

It appears we should have done a more thorough inventory check prior this stay. I was surprised to find so many items had been taken from the property. We have restocked the missing items and have added additional supplies.

Condition of property

When checked in place was filthy. Coffee grinds with mold, dirty dishes in dishwasher, showers and tubs not clean, hair in tub, many appliances not working, lawn and yard untended for months, porch full of leaves and trash. Just unbelievably terrible condition. Overhead fans wobbling, and screen doors not closing. Should never rent to anyone.

Beautiful house that needs TLC

We enjoyed the property a lot, however, the lack of cleaning (dead bugs and mouse droppings everywhere) was appalling. Additionally, the roof leaked into the pool and front hall and one of the upstairs showers leaked into the pool area as well. We still had a good time all things said and done but seeing a breakdown showing a cleaning fee was a slap in the face when we had to clean any surface we set things on before doing so and had to remove a lot of dead bugs from showers and tubs. I informed the host about the filthy conditions and the leaky roof and was told” No worries, thanks anyway”. Frankly, that left me speechless!

This guest never mentioned any of this to me so we were very surprised when we saw this. I personally inspected the house prior to their stay and it was professionally cleaned so for them to claim it wasn’t is completely false. There are 40 skylights in the pool room so if there was a leak I would have liked to have been notified as we could not locate a leak.

Property needs a-lot of upkeep and repairs.

The property has great views and lots of amenities. Unfortunately for our stay most of the amenities did not work. The house was unkempt, there were dead and live bugs in the house. The pool was the a main reason for the booking. Unfortunately, the heat was not turned on and there was visible growth on the bottom of the pool. The outside has a beautiful sitting area but the stones on the stairs are loose and make it dangerous. Additionally, the fire pit and the out side grill also broke. There were ants crawling in and around the sauna area. A-lot of the door handles came off when you try to open doors. A shower in the bathroom on the main floor did not work, the tub worked. On the plus side the property is spacious & in a beautiful area.

We appreciate your review. We would have liked to have been notified about any issues during your stay so we could have had an opportunity to address them. We didn’t hear about any of this until after your stay. The house is 22,000 Sq ft with an additional 8,000 of outdoor patios. With the property being this large it’s easy for our team to miss a few things. We do professionally clean the property before each stay and we have staff within 10 minutes of the property making it very easy for us to help make your stay comfortable. Thank you again for your input so that we could make the necessary repairs to improve our guest experience.

Disappointing, dirty, and broken

Beautiful home that has been run down and not maintained. Upon entering we found the pool area filled with toys, blow ups and used towels. Theater room was filled with half eaten chip bags and garbage. Half the lighting, half the appliances are inoperable. Handles fell off doors, toilet seats were not screwed on, decks and patios were filled with leaves and debris. Toilets were caked with feces and dried urine. We had to drive to Target to purchase a broom, pool chemicals and toilet scrubber, (none could be found on property). We cleaned 7 bathrooms and swept all common areas , cleaned and put chemicals in the pool, just to enjoy our stay. We verified, before arrival, about operation of outdoor grill and brought food to grill out. Grill was NOT operable. There were dead moths all over the floors and spiders and spider webs everywhere. There are 2 aquariums in the downstairs bar area filled with water just growing mold, algae and bacteria. There were random plastic bags and half-drunk water bottles under sinks. Nervous there could have been squatters there. None of the ice makers worked. The only things that "seemed" to be maintained were sheets and towels in bedrooms and bathrooms. It was upsetting and frustrating to rent a special VRBO for our daughter's college graduation and have to clean, and hope we did not get sick from all the filth.

Beautiful and Spacious

We enjoyed our stay. The home is very large and provided space and entertainment for all. We would definitely stay again if we were given the opportunity.

Great house

This property is huge. I wanted spend more time there in order to take advantage of everything. The pool area is beautiful and the pool itself is great too. There are a hot tub and sauna which weren't turned on-I think I was supposed to request that. Oops. If you visit during the warmer months there is a nice outdoor area for having meals or hanging out. Oh, and there is even a movie theatre! The beds are comfortable and the showers have unbelievable water pressure. The kitchen is big and has room to cook or stand around the island or sit at the bar. Two issues: First, it says that it sleeps 16, which it does but the extra beds are all in existing bedrooms which, unless you have young children, is useless. Second, Carl is responsive, but each time I reached out (except for the day that we arrived when he was very present and helpful) it took him at least 24 hours to get back to me. When you are planning for a big group and people are wanting answers that can be rough. Even with those two caveats I would go back again and again with a large group.

A great place

This was a fantastic place to stay. There were so many features about the house. Many things didn’t work but there were enough to offset the negative. The main thing we missed the most is there wasn’t a working ice maker nor a working freezer on site

Very large, awesome home!

This home is very large, most people would say enormous. It is located in a great neighborhood and close to Boulder and Longmont. With the home being so large I am sure maintainability can be difficult. That said, a number of things have just not been maintained very well.

Accurate Reviews

This is a tough one. On one hand, the property was incredible. It was massive, impressive, in a great location, and provided days of relaxation and fun for our group. The property was well stocked with linens, towels, blankets, hand soap, all purpose cleaner, and trash bags. Carl was incredibly fast with all communication. On the other hand, the maintenance of the property left much to be desired. I understand the house is 22,000 sq ft but if you can’t properly turn it around between guests, changes need to be made (more time/bigger team). Many lightbulbs were burnt out, many of the appliances did not work (the necessities worked, but there were non-functioning appliances everywhere-our group of 15 relied on coolers to keep everything cold), a shower in the basement leaked behind the wall and spilled dirty water into the carpet every time someone took a shower, the master shower handle is completely broken off the wall (but still usable), there was also a large spot of built-up blue residue in the master bath tub. It is worth noting that there are only 3 king beds (4 are advertised) and the paddle boat is no longer on the property. Our biggest issue with the property was the chlorination of the pool. We felt it very important that the pool be properly chlorinated because of COVID-19 so we brought chlorine test strips with us. When we arrived we tested the water and chlorine did not even register on the strip. Carl promptly responded and offered that we could add more chlorine ourselves, or he could send out someone to service the pool in the morning; we felt most comfortable with the second option. Someone came over around 11 the next morning, when she walked into the atrium, she said “it really smells like chlorine in here, but I’ll put in more if that will make you feel more comfortable.” She put in 3 or 4 more tabs and left. We gave it time to start releasing into the water and then tested again, chlorine still did not register. We adding even more chlorine tabs. On the third morning of our stay chlorine finally registered on the strips. We continued to add chlorine every day of our stay to maintain proper levels. It would be very helpful if Carl instructed guests to add chlorine to the pool regularly so the levels never had a chance to get as low as they did. Bottom line, the property had a lot to offer and we did have a ton of fun, but read the reviews so you know what to expect.

A private resort

Great home!

Great home for large groups. Plenty of open space and areas to curl up with a book. It could use a little more furniture in the basement in order to gather and play the games available. No where to sit. But overall a lovely home in the country facing the flat irons.

Awesome. Massive.

My family rents a place every holiday for a reunion and holiday celebration. This place was by far the best....in lots of ways. Great location, awesome neighborhood. House itself is just massive, it is hard to wrap your head around just how big this place actually is. Plus, there are all sorts of activities for all ages within the house. If you plans include the Boulder area...book this place. You will not be disappointed. We had a blast. And communication with Carl is spot on. He responds within seconds. Thanks for trusting your place to our group.

Location & Luxury

Ten minutes from Boulder, but no reason to leave the premises. Fantastic pool, 100" theater, and gourmet kitchen. Our very own private resort.
