The home has granite countertops, stainless appliances, and a fully furnished kitchen. The main-level entertaining area offers a large screened porch with a 12-person farmhouse table and seasonal lake view. This home has ample space for the entire family with 2 full bedrooms, a custom 5-bed bunk room, 3 full bathrooms (one on each level), and a spacious laundry room. Sleeps 10 (guest #10 sleeps on a couch or in a sleeping bag; bedding not provided for that guest).

The Space

Relax in the afternoon after spending the day on Center Hill Lake, in the porch bed swing or around the fire pit. Enjoy a soak in the hot tub, surrounded by nature.

A walking trail to the lake is located just below the house. It's a steep 5-minute hike, so wear good hiking shoes (poles help too); the hike down is easier than the hike back up. We don't provide kayaks, canoes, or life jackets, so bring your own, or rent from Cookeville Boat Dock (about 8 miles / 16 minutes by vehicle, with a restaurant and boat rentals).

Guest Access

This is a multi-level home reached by a steep gravel driveway. There are stairs between levels and no elevator. It is not wheelchair accessible.

Other Things to Note:

The Area: Run the Waters is surrounded by nature and is not close to local businesses or restaurants. There are no food delivery services at this location, so please plan accordingly. Baxter is about 11 miles away, and Cookeville is about 16 miles away.

Marina for boats: The closest marina is Cookeville Boat Dock, about 8 miles or 16 minutes by vehicle. It has a restaurant and boat rentals.

The walking trail to the lake: The trail is a steep 5-minute hike down to the lake, so bring good hiking shoes. The hike down is easier than the hike back up. The trail property is owned by the US Army Corps of Engineers, so please be respectful, don't litter, and help us keep it clean by picking up any trash others may have left behind.

Transportation: A truck or SUV is the preferred means of transportation, since portions of the roadway are steep, loose gravel, and can be uneven. Any vehicle with high ground clearance should have no issues. During winter months, the roadway may be very difficult or impossible to navigate due to hazardous weather.

Parking: The parking pad accommodates 4 to 5 vehicles.

Boats: Due to the steepness and curviness of the roadway, and the lack of a turnaround area on this dead-end road, we do not recommend towing boats or trailers to the house.

Grilling: A propane grill is provided.

Gas fireplace: The gas fireplace in the living room is functional only from October through March.

Fire pit: A wood-burning fire pit is available. Firewood is not provided; guests can pick some up at gas stations off the highway before arriving. Please use extreme caution and never leave a fire unattended.

Hot tub: No glass. Please don't adjust the settings.

Coffee: There is a Keurig K-Duo single-serve and carafe coffee maker. Some K-Cups are provided. Bring your own K-Cups or grounds if you prefer a full pot.

Wi-Fi: Fiber optic internet with speeds up to 1 Gig.

House rules: No pets (service animals welcome). No parties or events. No fireworks. No candles (birthday candles are fine). Smoking is allowed at the fire pit only. This home is on a septic system: please flush toilet paper only, no wipes or hygiene products. Quiet hours are 11 PM to 7 AM. Maximum 10 guests.

Cameras: We have outdoor security cameras at the front door, the utility panel, and the parking pad. There are no cameras inside the house.
