Wonderful home to spend a vacation. The views were beautiful! The hosts were fantastic. Very quick to respond to any questions. I would absolutely recommend a stay here.

My whole family loved it. Everyone spent the whole weekend fishing. We stayed on Grand lake over the 4th of July it was horrible fishing. Everyone was catching fish here. House was comfortable and well stocked.

House was beautiful. Beds were the best we’ve had for n a very long time. Grandchildren were unable to swim due to the lake being really weedy(but not the host fault).

The location is great. A beautiful lake surrounded by nature. Quiet and peaceful. It’s a short drive into town with lots of restaurants and shopping. The hosts were very responsive and checked in on us. I definitely recommend this rental.

Great home for small group!! Comfy beds and close to town!! Relaxing place to sit and enjoy the lake view and to listen to the loons!! Highly recommend and will definitely come back if we head back to Alpena area.

Septic tank needed to be pumped out and needed a second pumping shortly after. Dust was prevalent in all rooms. No instructions for TV operation. Pocket door in up stairs bathroom was stuck open. Up stairs shower has extremely low water pressure. No place to have an outdoor fire. No beach on prem. Rickety dock. The entire place was a disappointment at best. I have stayed at many VRBO properties. None were as bad as this.

We spent 11 days at the cottage while visiting our hometown for our wedding. The location was perfect and the cottage had plenty of space to entertain any guests that visited. Our favorite part was the sunrises and sunsets as you get a truly exceptional experience of both at this location. The hosts made us feel right at home and were always immediately available for any questions we had. We will definitely stay here again as well as recommend this place to our friends and family that reside there.

House was nice and comfortable. The upstairs layout was a bit strange. You walk up stairs and you are in the loft area that has a bed and two sofas. There is no privacy for this bed as you have to walk through to get to the bathroom and the other bedroom. Both of the upstairs beds have large windows with no curtains or blinds. This was nice for appreciating the view, not so good for sleeping late. There were loud banging and clunking sounds whenever you turned on the water or flushed the toilet, and at times there was no water when you turned on the faucet for a few minutes. Kitchen was spacious and decently stocked, could have used a few more bowls for serving and storage. There was an outdoor sitting area but we did not use this much because there were too many spiders and mosquitoes. The lake was very weedy and there was too much algae to swim near the dock. The dock had several damaged boards and was not very safe to walk on. Hosts were quick to respond and helpful.

FAMILY BONDING

The property is very close to the town of Alpena... A very neat town of about 9000 people.. many things to do in and around town... The property has a large front lawn area with a fire pit... Plenty of room where we tossed Frisbee, and did some other things... The back patio area is great for lounging around and enjoying food and drinks and views of the lake... The family enjoyed the use of the kayaks... there was always a bald eagle or two flying around... And the beautiful sound of loons calling to each other... The house was well equipped with everything we needed

We traveled with four adults and four kids. There were excellent sleeping options and comfortable beds for all. The kitchen was well appointed and had everything we could possibly need. There was a big yard (street side) with a fire pit, basketball hoop, and plenty of space for the kids and dogs to run and play throughout the day. The back yard (lake side) was our favorite place to spend our time with incredible lake views. The kids had so much fun swimming and kayaking and we were able to watch them while also enjoying the bald eagle, loons, blue heron, and gorgeous sunset. We are so happy with our stay, the host paid attention to so many small details that weren't even on the listing such as extra bag chairs in the garage and a stack of beach towels in the laundry room. We would definitely stay again!

We had a family wedding in Alpena. We traveled from Arizona and stayed for five days at this lakefront property.The house has been carefully prepared for a seamless rental experience. Everything was clean. It was conveniently located between town and the wedding venue in the countryside.Kitchen is well equipped, washer and dryer were essential.We did not use the kayaks or other water toys that were offered but they were available.A shout out to our host. In the drama of the wedding weekend, I left several items and valuables behind in the night stand. The owner worked with me to allow access to the house the day after we checked out so I could collect my things. So appreciated.

This was a great place for our annual family getaway. The house was very nice, very clean and very well stocked with plenty of dishes, pots and pans, silverware and utensils, even a well stocked spice cupboard. Our son and son-in- law enjoyed the use of the kayaks. The bedrooms were nice and had comfortable beds. One thing to keep in mind, is that the air conditioning consists of window units in each of the bedrooms. The main part of the house was fairly comfortable from the cooler nights we had prior to the heat wave that came in the day before we left. The host was extremely responsive to any messages that we left. Overall, a very good time was had by all.

This is a great waterfront home for a bigger group or family! Our family of 9 (6 adults, 3 kids) has an annual fish camp vacay in Alpena & this house had plenty of space for everyone to be inside and/or outside at the same time without feeling crowded. The kitchen is stocked with everything to cook, including plenty of spices! The house has a dock & the boat launch isnt far up the road- makes it handy if you bring your own boat like we did. Even better yet, its pet friendly so we were able to bring our dogs with us! We had a lot of fun catching fish, kayaking (host provided), grandsons loved the basketball hoop in the drive, enjoyed fresh fish dinners and of course, going to Scoops downtown Alpena for ice cream. Did I mention the amazing sunset views? A lot of bald eagles in the area too, cool to see! Our hosts were awesome too- very communicative, responded quickly & made sure we were comfortable the entire stay. We plan on coming back for fish camp next year!
