Well stocked and convenient to everywhere

We were in Alpena to visit our daughter and grandchildren. They live about half a mile away. We were amazed at all the condiments, utensils, and supplies in the house. The Wi-Fi worked great - I worked all week from the house. We come up to visit (usually) at least a couple times per year and are looking forward to staying here again.

Great stay!

We loved the house, hosts, and area! Our stay was comfortable and relaxing thanks to how well appointed the house was. The road noise was a bit much at times but we all slept well.

Perfect location

Property was a perfect location for our annual visit to the area. This was actually our second time in this house and we appreciate the cleanliness and amenities. Everything we may have needed was available in the kitchen and bathrooms and the check in/check out process was seamless.

We had a wonderful wedding weekend!

Thanks to Jennie for making us so comfortable. We very much appreciated the toys and games for the kids and the spacious dining room and kitchen. The big, well-furnished backyard is great for evening soirees. The only drawbacks for us were concerns about slipping in the shower or the tub. Plastic mats with suction cups would solve the issue. Our tall folks bumped their heads on the ceiling over the steps, bedrooms and bathrooms, but I doubt that those angles could be lit differently to make them more obvious. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay.

Northern Michigan Visit

Home was clean, comfortable and conveniently located to Alpena amenities. An easy walk to restaurants. Being situated relatively close to downtown we were concerned with the possibility of noise disrupting our sleep but it turned out to be a non-factor. Neighbors were cordial and respectful. A very enjoyable stay.

Lovely Home

We had a great time at this lovely home. It has so much space and different rooms to sit in and enjoy. They provided much more than we would have expected a place to provide: baking supplies, bathroom products, along with regular items you would expect. It is easy to find and in a great location close to food and places to explore. Responses to my communications were pretty much immediate. We hope to book time there again soon.

Week in Alpena

Although the weather was disappointing several days, the home was great . It is located walking distance to downtown and local restaurants. The area appeared very safe . The best part was how stocked the home was with supplies. I tend to over pack and there was no need for that at this home. Shampoo, other bathroom items, kitchen supplies, and plenty of other household items were supplied in the home. The owner was very responsive and checked in to see how things were going . We enjoyed our stay very much in this home :)

Charming and Comfortable

I don't think I've ever stayed in a short-term rental that was more intuitively arranged than this one. Jennie had thought of everything from extra bathroom towel hooks to luggage storage. It was easy to find things like extra garbage bags or extra blankets. The home had everything we needed without feeling cluttered or like I was living in someone else's leftovers. The house is an older home and very charming. It was spotless! The listing states that there is not central air conditioning, but we were very comfortable in late May.

Cute and clean!

Pros: Really cute decor! Well-stocked kitchen. Plenty of room for 2 couples. Nice gas grill outside. Beds were comfy. Nice linens and towels. Good location. Be aware that there is no air conditioning and even with fans bedrooms were a bit stuffy (but it was in the 80's duribg our stay). Room to improve: Has potential to be a really nice backyard - sitting areas with fire pit and chairs and separate area with umbrella table and chairs, could be great place to relax - but front and back yards were in need of mowing and flower bed tending. Just felt unkept and uninviting. Also, hand railings up the steps to both doors were very wobbly.

Marvelous!

Communication with the owners was nearly instantaneous. They were gracious and welcoming. The house is older but beautifully redone. It is welcoming and comfortable. The rooms are spacious and feel like home. The kitchen is well stocked. The appliances are nice. The home is two story, and with two kids, it’s a life saver to have a full bathroom downstairs. I’m not familiar with housing architectural types (craftsman, cottage, and so on), but I was fascinated with trying to figure out which parts of the house were original and which were redone. The flooring in the bathrooms just blew me away. Stunning! We loved our stay in this home and will definitely contact them again when we are back in the area.

Great location

Loved walking to the downtown area and driving to nearby towns, beaches, lighthouses. Well stocked kitchen and bathrooms Bedrooms a bit stuffy in spite of AC; windows couldn’t be opened (Be careful of the sloped ceilings if you’re tall) Lovely backyard with outdoor sitting and eating areas. Owner very responsive

Weekend gathering

Anfitrión: Jennie Handrich ~ Handrich Properties

Hi! We're Jennie and Josh, owners of Handrich Properties. We've been married for 20 years and have made our home here in Alpena. We love going on adventures with our 3 kids, like biking, camping, and travelling the US.

I (Jennie) owned my own custom cake business for 13 years, and love meeting new people! I now work at our awesome local gym, and love running . I'll be running my third marathon this summer.

Josh is a real estate agent and loves basketball and playing hobby board games. One of his current favorites is Terraforming Mars. He has a vast collection of games, and is always happy to loan them out if you're staying with us and looking for a new game to try.

Our properties have been beautifully renovated and are just minutes from the beach. You will have the entire home to yourself. We live very close by and are happy to help with anything you might need during your stay, providing we are not out of town at the time.
