Pet Policy

We’re happy to welcome dogs to join you on your getaway! Please note that due to allergies, we’re unable to accommodate cats. A $29 pet fee applies per furry friend, per night to help cover additional cleaning and care. Thanks for understanding—we look forward to hosting you and your pup!

Please note:

You have rented a mountainous property. AWD or 4X4 is recommended. The main and secondary roads are usually paved. However, there are many side roads that are gravel or hard-packed dirt surfaces. You may experience potholes, ruts, steep inclines, and rough terrain. Most front-wheel drive vehicles have no trouble accessing the property from these roads if you drive safely and slowly. We do not recommend low-profile vehicles such as sports cars or motorcycles. During inclement weather such as snow or ice, you may be required to have 4-wheel drive or tire chains. We also recommend Travel Insurance during the winter months. We do not give refunds for road conditions that are out of our control.

Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but because of the natural mountain setting, you may still notice leaves, pollen, or other outdoor elements—especially in certain seasons. Nature has a way of leaving its mark, no matter how often we tidy up.

Wi-Fi is available, though due to the remote location, service may occasionally be slower or spotty. We recommend downloading any essential content ahead of time, just in case.

Thank you for understanding, and we hope you embrace the adventure—this peaceful, scenic setting is exactly what makes High Mountain Perch such a special mountain escape!

Longer Stays

For stays of 14 nights or longer, guests will be asked to e-sign a rental agreement prior to arrival. This agreement helps us comply with local requirements while protecting the property, and will be sent in advance for review.

The perfect get away. From sunsets to sunrise, star gazing, and grilling on the porch with an incredible view of the valley. Will have to come back for the fall foliage!

Thank you for the lovely review. I'm glad High Mountain Perch was the perfect getaway — sunsets, stargazing, and porch grilling are some of my favorite things about the place. I hope you'll return for the fall foliage; it really is spectacular. Safe travels! Best, Tony & the Blue Maple Team

Very remote location- having a 4WD was helpful. Place was clean- no spiders or webs. The rental company was easy to communicate with. Would have been nice to have a space heater as the available heating is insufficient. Mattresses are a hard foam (some people may prefer this, but I was up all night). Much of the place has been renovated, but more is necessary. My adult daughter enjoyed our one night stay.

I live in DC with my wife and two young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad

We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and this cabin in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
