Anfitrión: Tyler Curtis

We’re a husband-and-wife team calling Searcy, Arkansas home. I grew up here, and my wife is originally from Georgetown, Texas. We met at Harding University and fell in love with this community’s small-town charm.
I work as a general contractor and spend my free time playing sports, hunting, and fishing. My wife practices physical therapy at the local clinic and, when she’s off, you’ll find her mountain biking, snowboarding, or sipping coffee with our doodle by her side.
Together, we pour our passions into hosting. I build the shell of each home, and my wife infuses it with warmth, character, and thoughtful touches. Our goal is to create a relaxing, welcoming space where families can unwind, explore, and make lifelong memories.

Por qué eligió esta propiedad
We’re surrounded by architectural gems in this neighborhood. Right across the street sits a beautifully preserved Victorian home built in 1890, and just around the corner you’ll discover an early 20th-century Sears & Roebuck kit house.
Even with all that history at our doorstep, you’re only a few minutes from downtown Searcy’s coffee shops, boutiques, and restaurants—and Harding University is just a short drive away.

Qué distingue a esta propiedad
The Pecan House, built in 1935, arrived on our doorstep in September 2024 begging for a fresh start. We set an ambitious goal: complete a full gut-and-renovation and welcome our first guests by August 2025. As we peeled back layers of the past, we discovered uninsulated walls, original knob-and-tube wiring, and century-old plumbing that groaned at every turn—surprises that only fueled our commitment to bring this home back to life.
Over the next year, we replaced every major system with modern, reliable comforts: new insulation, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing. We laid down warm durable floors, installed sleek quartz countertops and custom cabinetry, and outfitted the kitchen with stainless-steel appliances. Fresh paint in soothing palettes, thoughtfully chosen furnishings, and carefully curated décor now honor the home’s historic roots while offering today’s conveniences.
During the remodel, we uncovered a treasure trove of unique artifacts that whisper tales of decades past:
Cherry tree wallpaper adorned with sparrows, dating back to the 1940s–1950s, revealed behind the kitchen walls.
A broken Pyrex bottle found under the bathroom floor—the style widely used after 1924 for storing breast milk.
A 1925 penny, now framed in our “Penny For Your Thoughts” guest book, discovered beneath the living room floor.
An old pencil box hidden under the dining room floor, complete with a stubby pencil and a scrap of paper scrawled with notes.
Outside, we revitalized the landscaping beneath the majestic pecan tree that gives this house its name. The result is a seamless blend of vintage charm and modern ease: a cozy retreat ready for you to enjoy.
