Whether you're planning a romantic getaway, a creative retreat, a work-from-anywhere escape, or simply a quiet weekend away, Kaliva Beta offers a rare combination of thoughtful architecture, modern comfort, and outdoor adventure in one of Arizona's most beloved mountain towns.



Spend your days hiking nearby trails, paddling at Watson Lake, exploring Whiskey Row, browsing local galleries and shops, or cruising through town on our shared e-bikes. Then return to a peaceful retreat where warm architectural lighting, natural materials, and private outdoor spaces invite you to slow down, reconnect, and recharge.



Inspired by Greece, Rooted in Prescott. We call this project Kaliva (καλύβα), a Greek word meaning "countryside shelter" or humble retreat.



The name reflects our personal story. My husband is Greek, and we met many years ago in Athens. Over time, we came to love the rugged beauty, slower pace, and quiet charm of Prescott's high desert. Kaliva represents the blending of two places we hold dear: the timeless simplicity of the Greek islands and the natural beauty of northern Arizona.



Designed and furnished by the owner, an interior designer, Kaliva draws inspiration from the architecture of the Greek Cyclades and the simplicity of Scandinavian design. Natural concrete floors, custom Baltic birch millwork, handcrafted tadelakt plaster, warm lighting, and carefully curated furnishings create a space that feels both modern and deeply relaxing.



Every detail was chosen with intention to create an environment that encourages rest, creativity, connection, and a sense of place.



The Cabin:



Kaliva Beta is our larger guest cabin and features a spacious one-bedroom layout with dedicated living, dining, cooking, and outdoor spaces.



Unlike a hotel room or studio rental, Beta offers room to spread out while maintaining the cozy atmosphere of a private retreat.



The Bedroom:



The separate bedroom features a king-size bed dressed in premium linens and a selection of plush and medium-plush pillows. Large windows bring in natural light while maintaining privacy and views of the surrounding landscape. The space is designed to feel calm, comfortable, and restorative after a day spent exploring Prescott.



The Living Area:



The open living room offers comfortable seating, warm architectural lighting, and a smart TV with streaming capabilities. The sofa features automatic footrests. Large panoramic doors frame views of native boulders, pines, and high-desert vegetation, creating a strong connection between the indoors and outdoors. Whether you're reading, working remotely, watching a movie, or simply enjoying a quiet evening, the space is designed for comfort without sacrificing style.



The Kitchen:



Beta features a fully equipped kitchen with everything needed for simple breakfasts, home-cooked meals, or elegant takeout from downtown Prescott.



You'll find:

• Full-size refrigerator with filtered water and ice

• Induction cooktop and oven

• Dishwasher

• Microwave

• Keurig coffee maker

• Electric kettle

• Cookware and kitchen essentials

• Wine glasses, barware, and serving pieces

• Complimentary coffee and tea



The Dining Area:



A dedicated dining space provides the perfect setting for morning coffee, leisurely meals, board games, remote work, or planning the day's adventures.



The Bathroom:



One of the cabin's most distinctive features is the spa-inspired bathroom. The shower walls are finished in handcrafted tadelakt plaster, a traditional lime-based finish used for centuries in Morocco and now found in luxury spas and boutique hotels around the world.



The bathroom also includes:

• Luxury Aveda bath products

• Plush towels

• Makeup mirror

• Hair dryer

• Warm radiant-heated floors

• Additional toiletries



The combination of natural materials, thoughtful lighting, and artisan craftsmanship creates an atmosphere that feels both elevated and welcoming.



Outdoor Living:



Outdoor living is an important part of the Kaliva experience. Beta features two private patios that extend the living space into the surrounding landscape. The bedroom patio offers a quiet place to enjoy morning coffee or a quiet dinner.



The main patio is designed for gathering, dining, and relaxing. Features include:

Year-Round Comfort:



Prescott's elevation provides a noticeably cooler climate than Phoenix and much of central Arizona. To ensure comfort throughout the year, Beta includes:

Adventure Included:



Guests enjoy shared access to our on-site adventure gear, located in The Core beneath the lower building. Available equipment includes:



• Two hard kayaks

• Two inflatable paddleboards

• Two e-bikes



Whether you're paddling on Watson Lake, exploring local trails, or riding into downtown Prescott, these amenities make it easy to experience the area. Equipment is shared between the two cabins and is available on a first-come, first-served basis.
