Perfect Retreat For A Couple Or Family

Copper Basin Hideaway is located just five minutes from the Historic Prescott Downtown Square where most of Prescott’s “hometown” events happen: street fairs, live theatre, shops, dancing at one of the many “saloons,” antiques, restaurants, museums and more.

As you leave the square towards the cabin, you ascend an additional 700 ft. into the tall 80 ft. Ponderosa Pines and Oak trees to a quiet, peaceful hideaway. The cabin sits on 1 acre off a private street with only four other homes nearby. If you like a peaceful environment, this is the place for you -- if you listen, you can enjoy the sounds of many kinds of Southwestern birds, and you might even catch a glimpse of deer, javalina, squirrels, rabbits, or even wild turkeys!

This classic A-frame cabin was built in 1989 and restored in 2004. The back deck stretches the length of the cabin offering a retreat for reading, enjoying the views and natural spring, or grilling out for an evening at home. Inside, enjoy games with the family, or watch cable TV or streaming services.

This unique cabin is also .5 miles from the Prescott National Forest where there is a web of trails for both hiking and mountain biking. You can ride or walk right from the cabin, or drive to several places up the mountain designated for parking. Just bring your bike or hiking shoes and we’ll provide the map!

Prescott also hosts many annual events. Just a few include: Whiskey Row Off-Road Mountain Bike Race (April); Whisky Row Marathon and Highland Games (May); Frontier Days, the Prescott Rodeo, 4th of July celebration/parade, Indian Art Market (June/July); Prescott Film Festival and Cowboy Poets Gathering at Sharlot Hall (August); Acker Music Festival and Christmas Courthouse Lighting/Parade (December). Other activities include: canoeing/kayaking and fishing at Goldwater and Watson lakes, museums, live theatre, restaurants, craft/art shows, and much, much more.

Copper Basin Hideaway is perfect for one couple or a family of four. This studio cabin has a comfortable hide-a-bed (with memory-foam cushion) and two small areas in the loft, each with a twin sized bed. The main area of the loft has two cozy bean-bag chairs which make a nice retreat for reading or for the kids to play some games. The kitchen is fully equipped with dishes and other utensils, as well as a refrigerator, stove, microwave and toaster oven. The propane grill is ready for use and the window off the kitchen has a “pass-through” screen for easy grilling preparation. The cabin also has a wood stove where you can enjoy a cozy atmosphere in the winter months ... we even provide the Firelogs from December through March!

The pictures don’t show just how cute this cabin is. This was the perfect stay if you’re bringing a furry friend. My dog loved the window view from inside and loved looking out from the porch too. We saw deer, javalenas, and so many wild turkeys. I would definitely stay here again! I also loved how close it was to hiking trails.

The cabin was clean. However, the ladder to the bedrooms was difficult to climb, not a regular stairway. We could barely stand up in the bedrooms and could not sit up in bed due to the sloped roof. There were no doors on the bedrooms. We were also told that the cabin was 5 minutes from Friendly Pines Camp, but it was a 25 minute drive.

Cozy Cabin

Cute mountain cabin! Very well maintained. Love sitting on the deck, watching all the wildlife. Close to Downtown but far enough away that you have plenty of privacy. I would highly recommend and we plan on going back. Pet friendly, loved that the patio was gated so puppies could chill and watch the wildlife too! Made me feel very safe with them. Only negative was no real bed or bedroom. As stated in advertisement fold out couch, which it was lol. It was very uncomfortable, we’d bring a blowup mattress to put under it next time.

Quaint and cute

Quaint and peaceful home in a wooded neighborhood. The home was clean and comfortable with a lovely deck to sit outside. Kids enjoyed the loft. Would have loved to stay longer. Minutes away from downtown Prescott.

Loved staying here for 4 nights. The cabin exceeded my expectations. Just a short drive from downtown. Very quiet and peaceful. You brarely hear anything from the road, and you can't see it. The cabin and yard feel bery private. A two minute walk up toward the water tank, is a clearing for star gazing. 10 minutes up the road is the 1st of several trailheads in Prescott National Forest. I hiked every day and hardly saw anyone else. Janet and Dan are wonderful hosts, I highly recommend this cabin.

Secluded cabin-in-the woods with lots of hiking/biking trails and quick access to downtown Prescott!

The realtors' old saying, "It's location, location, location," perfectly fits the description of this lovely cabin. The cabin has modern appliances and amenities while being near an abundance of well-marked hiking/biking trails of varying difficulties.We hiked several trails and also enjoyed a two-hour kayaking trip on beautiful Lake Watson.If you want a day off from hiking or kayaking, you can do a short drive to historical downtown Prescott, which has a variety of museums, restaurants, stores and other activities in and around the town square.We thoroughly enjoyed our 14-day stay. Relaxing Stay in the Pines

I brought my father for the weekend to celebrate his 84th birthday. This was a perfect place to do so. It was small, but the listing accurately stated this. It was very comfortable for the 2 of us. My dad slept on the pullout couch and I slept in one of the small beds in the loft. The cabin had everything you could want to be comfortable. It was very clean. All of my correspondence with Janet was answered quickly and completely. The directions were easy to follow and all information needed was provided. The cabin had a nice deck where you can sit and enjoy the quiet of the pines and the cool air. I would stay here again.

Peaceful stay!

I traveled from Northern CA with my dog. I stopped in Prescott for the weekend before heading to Phoenix. The location is fantastic! The cabin was exactly as advertised. I didn’t need the loft so I don’t have anything to add about that. The cabin is close to the National Forest. We hiked trails and walked around the area of the neighborhoods. I was there to watch my brother race in the Whiskey Off Road MTB race. Which conveniently also went by heading into the forest. Location is very quiet and close to town. The cabin was clean. This was exactly what my dog and I needed. Thank you for a great stay. On the first night we had a group of javalenas walk in front of the cabin. We were on the deck so we were close to two adults, two itty bitty babies and one teenage looking size. I called them the Copper Basin Welcoming Committee.

Cozy for two

Located on a private street the property was quite. This allowed wildlife to roam around the property. We saw turkey, deer, and javelina. The cabin was roomy for two adults. I did kill a blackwidow spider upstairs, but that didn't bother me. Overall we enjoyed our time and shared some memories together.

Unlike many of the rentals in the Prescott area that are surrounded by other homes, this cabin is set in a very quiet, private section of town on 1 acre, with the unique bonus of being only 5 minutes from the activities on Whisky Row - Historic Downtown Prescott. You will feel like you're in the middle of the forest, but with easy access and paved/maintained roads - it's a true Cabin Hideaway!
