This charming 1910 farmhouse has been updated with every modern amenity to make for an enjoyable getaway for you and your family or friends. Located on two acres of lush property with a secret garden feel, this home is walking distance from the downtown Saugatuck shopping, restaurant, and boating district. The heated pool is a private place for you and your guests to relax and enjoy your time together!

Spacious, Charming, and Dog-Friendly—A Perfect Stay in Saugatuck!

We had a wonderful stay at this charming 1910's home in Saugatuck! The house is full of character, beautifully maintained, and impressively spacious. It was spotless upon arrival, and we appreciated the thoughtful amenities that made our stay even more comfortable.One of the biggest highlights was that they welcomed dogs, which made it a perfect getaway for our whole family. The home is well-equipped with everything you need, and the combination of historical charm with modern conveniences makes for a fantastic experience.If you're looking for a clean, cozy, and pet-friendly home with plenty of space, this is definitely the place to stay! We’d love to return in the future.

Lovely Weekend Stay

Beautiful property, well stocked and decorated. Could use a deep clean inside and out. Not surprising given that the property is dog friendly and it’s the end of the season. Some more lighting in the backyard would be helpful from a safety standpoint.

Family Vacation

We have stayed here for several years. It is our once a year family vacation. It is so comfortable here and so close to so many thi gs to do. Aaron is easy to reach and very responsive. Everyone in the family is always eager to come back. Heated pool is great!! the heated pool is just fantastic

Comfort, convenience, privacy - just right

Wanted a few days away for quiet time, walkable waterfront, window shopping and outdoor space for our dog. We found it and really enjoyed our stay. Aaron (owner) was most communicative of any property owner we've known so far; very helpful especially when navigating a road construction necessitated drive-around to get to the property (only added 7 minutes). Plenty of room so we might have a future family/SO's stayover in the future. Would love to stay when warmer, sunnier weather prevails and grounds are in their fully glory. Highly recommend.

The PERFECT stay

This was my most comfortable stay by far. It was very comfortable, clean, and welcoming. Great place if you have dogs! Host was friendly and very responsive. Would recommend!!

Another great vacation

We have stayed at Allegan Gardens for several years now, and it is always great. Close to town, but very private. Our family always enjoys the pool. The host is easily reached if we need anything, and his response time is quick. It is a great place to stay with our children and our grandchildren.

Charming Old Home & Wonderful Stay

We just returned from a week at Allegan Gardens and had an amazing time. This beautifully restored 1910 home is full of charm. The owners very tastefully decorated this home and it shows. The small touches were great: the towels and robes in each room, the availability of cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, deck & pool maintenance items made it very easy to have a laid back week. Surrounded by beautiful hydrangeas and dogwoods, we really felt secluded and quiet. Yes it's on a "busy" street, but set back so far we never had any issues. A quick 2 min drive to downtown Saugatuck and plenty of parking available. Grill worked great, pool was great and our kids had a great time. Below a large maple so yes, a little AM cleaning was required but skimmers & a pool vacuum robot is provided. The listing does say 3 bath, but the main house is only 2. The 3rd is part of a small outdoor pool room, so I wouldn't consider it overly functional, but with 4 adults & 3 kids we didn't have any issues. We would 100% return and hope we can!

Highly recommended for families!

Prior to the trip, I reached out to the homeowner with multiple questions and he was always quick to reply and very courteous! The house and property are absolutely beautiful, exactly as appears in all the pictures. The heated pool was wonderful as the weather was a bit cold for June. The kids loved it. We used the kitchen and the outdoor grill to cook a lot, everything was well stocked. There was enough seating on the deck and in the dining room for our entire group, so we were able to have our meals together. The rooms were stocked with extra pillows and bedding. The towels were left in each room, only 1 per person for the entire stay, that could be improved on, but on the flip side, they had an abundance of pool towels which was a pleasant surprise. The fire pit was a hit, they had firewood provided, which was covered, so even after a rainy day, the logs were dry so we were able to have a fire that evening. There are a lot of trees covering the beautiful backyard, so we used the leaf blower and pool skimmer (both provided) each morning. Also a nice touch. The only reason that I gave them 4 out of 5 stars on cleanliness is that it didn't look like the poolside lounge chairs and floats had been cleaned prior to our stay. Everything else was well cleaned. If you are looking for a boat rental while you're here, we used Mac Adventures. It was a short drive, the staff is friendly and the boat was great! The kids even tubed even though the lake was cold!

So much room!

I will totally come back to stay again. Everything was provided and simple to access. Comfortable beds, easy access to town, and the pool was a hit with the kids. It was very home-like and cozy.

Great weekend getaway!

Our friend group had a great time at Allegan Gardens. The house was well-prepared for our arrival and provided exactly what we needed for a relaxing weekend away. A few doors didn’t quite latch but these didn’t inconvenience us in any way (and Aaron was responsive when I checked in to make sure it wasn’t something broken). Next time we’ll be sure to stay when the pool is open!

Perfect Retreat for a Girls’ Getaway

The home and property was inviting and welcoming. Nature’s color added to the ambience of the weekend. My friends and I were enthralled with the uniqueness of the home and the overall feel. Great location. We agreed that we would stay again in this picturesque VRBO.

Great home for family vacation

This is the perfect place for making memories on a family vacation. Pool was perfect. Close to town, but yet very private. There eight of us. Plenty of space for us to stretch out. Enjoyed preparing and sharing meals and swimming and just relaxing. Our third year here and we will be back next year. Thanks for making this such an inviting place to stay.

Great for large families

Allegan Gardens is a very convenient place for a large group gatherings. We had three adults and four kids. Kids spent a lot of time in the pool. The property has numerous trees which kept us cool.

Great Getaway Spot

We enjoyed this property. Close to downtown and beach. Absolutely loved the pool, the temperature was perfect. It was a nice house and backyard for our family just to hang out and have fun.
