Nice cozy little cabin. Had a little bit of an issue getting the heater to go, just had to prime it a while to get the pilot lit. Good location plenty to do in the area. Definitely needed the WiFi, almost zero cell service. Will definitely stay again!

I’m glad you were able to get the heater started. It’s hard to know this time of year whether you need the heat or the air conditioner.

The only thing to be aware of is that the water is limited—which they are clear about in the description. We LOVE black bear cabin!!

We were attending at wedding in Lowville over the weekend--this was a perfect place to stay!! We'd love to go back in the Fall/winter!

Cozy quiet get away!

Cozy little cabin in the woods! We really enjoyed the peacefulness and great access to trails. Perfect place to warm up after a Hike! The cabin was very clean, fully functional, and nicely decorated.

Quiet and peaceful

Beautiful little cabin

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We adored the cabin and the deer nearby. The local people were so nice and helpful. We did the 5 and 1/2 mile gorge hike at Whetstone and visited Witaker Park. Our stay was everything we hoped it would be. Highly recommend!!!

Black bear is lovely

This was our third time at the cabin. It is lovely—spotlessly clean and a great place to stay while visiting family! You do have to be careful of water use because it’s a reserve tank and not a well, but we have never run out of water. Bonnie is super responsive to any questions!

Quick trip

The property description is accurate, cute little cabin, secluded in quiet setting. Bigfoot won’t fit in bathroom though. Bonnie was great and receptive.

Really wish the wood fireplace was working. That’s what sold us on vacationing at Bear Lodge Cabin.

We were informed ahead of time that the fireplace was in need of repairs. Thanks for the heads up. Everything thing else was absolutely amazing. The cabin is very authentic. Down to the log rafters. As a contractor, carpenter for more than 20 years, it was very nice to see the cabin left as natural as possible and still accommodate renters. Bathroom could use a couple of changes. Like swinging the door out of the room instead of in. Giving more room for the sink. Highly enjoyed the coziness!! We took relaxation to the next level while there over our Christmas vacation. Highly recommend to anyone looking to relax!!! Thanks, Tim & Janice

Rustic, cozy and beautiful

Thank you again Bonnie! We absolutely loved staying at Black Bear Cabin. The cabin was decorated just absolutely adorable! It had everything you might need available right there. It was clean, comfortable and just so cozy. It was nice and private with no one else too close, just the deer passing through. There was no issues at all there. Just a wonderfully perfect experience. I would definitely recommend staying there. We would love to stay again!! Thanks a million

Fantastic Private Location

Stayed 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves! Terrific location, very secluded and private. Cozy little cabin with basic amenities, it was exactly what we hoped it to be. Looking forward to returning for another stay in the future.

Cutest Little Cabin!!

We had a wonderful time—check in was a breeze, and the cabin is lovely and comfortable, and quiet (except for the wildlife, which is what we were there for! As is mentioned, the water is from a tank, so we were very conservative with water use and had no problem!

Great place very comfortable

I rented the cabin for a snowmobile trip. The trail is 1.3 miles away. The cabin is beautiful. My only complaints were, I was not aware of water needing to be reserved. This made for no long hot shower after the ride. I don’t recall it in the description but I have been known to skip finer details. The only door in and out did not open all the way making it difficult to get in and out with gear. The positives the cabin was clean, the ambiance was perfect, there was two sources of heat. It was super quiet. No one was using the other cabins surrounding. There were some dishes to use and the kitchen was fully functioning. I plan on going back again.

Wonderful cozy cabin

We loved the cabin - it was very private, inviting, cozy and had everything we needed - what a wonderful place to relax, unwind and kick back for a few days - our host was very accessible and helped us every time we had a question - we especially appreciated the unique and beautiful hiking trails nearby

Quick weekend getaway in the fall

Perfect cozy cabin for the hubby and I to hide out for the weekend and enjoy the fall foliage. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed. We will be booking again.

Great little cabin

Small home with the necessities and charm. Bathroom is tiny but we got used to it. The surroundings were beautiful. Very quiet and tranquil.

Just what we needed…

This was the perfect getaway! Bonnie’s Black Bear Lodge had everything we needed… and then some! Beautifully decorated with all the comforts of home. And the bed is amazingly comfortable!! Nearby hiking is excellent and it’s a great location to surrounding areas (Old Forge). Will definitely return!!

Perfect secluded getaway

Booked this cozy cabin with my wife and son and it was better than expected. We had a great time spending quality family time. There were movies and games available and a fire pit with a great view of the mountains. I would definitely love to visit again

Fireplace?

Bonnie was excellent and the Cabin Was very Very nice! But I specifically booked it because of the Fireplace was listed as an amenity! The day before check her after contacted Bonnie she sent us the information for Checking in and included that the Fireplace was not operating because of a cracked Chimney which she couldn’t get fixed because of Winter.....I understand things happen but that should be removed as an Amenity. Upon further investigation I read some reviews that the Fireplace didn’t work when other people were there in 2019....So this has been an ongoing problem! Bonnie was a great Host and when we had a problem with the heater staying in she contacted me back immediately and was ready to send someone to help!! Just Air in the lines because after relighting it about 5 times it was fine the rest of the Stay....Please remove Fireplace from Amenities until It gets fixed because that was one of the main Amenities I Was looking for and Was Very Disappointed.
