Beach Paradise! Direct Ocean Front End Unit! Prime Location! Beautiful Beach!

This information was taken directly from our VRBO page. How you managed to book our condo without reading this is beyond me. The VRBO listing also mentions that the building DOES NOT have an elevator!! We also have a picture of the staircase. The description explains that we are a 1 bed/1 bath with living area, kitchen and dinning area. We also have a fabulous deck overlooking the ocean. How can you mistake all of this for a room? Or think you can “get a room” on another floor.? This is the only condo we rent! “About this property: Beach Paradise! Direct Ocean Front End Unit! Prime Location! Beautiful Beach! Welcome to our piece of paradise! This Surfside Beach condo is our family’s beach getaway and now it can be yours too. This condo is a top 3rd floor end unit 1br/1ba with a living area, dining area, and a full kitchen.” I am sorry to hear that you have throat cancer. I, too, am a cancer survivor. One of the things that helped me heal was sitting on the deck hearing those waves and feeling that wonderful breeze. Maybe a little of that has helped you in your journey. Rating us poorly because of your inability to read a listing is unfair to my business. We provided you a clean, comfortable condo with amazing views and direct oceanfront. All you can criticize is the stairs….which were described in the listing.

We’re very sorry that you didn’t enjoy your stay. We strive to provide guests with a clean comfortable place to stay. First, the mattress was picked because it was the best rated for rentals. Lots of people sleep on that bed so we wanted one that worked for different sleeping styles. Except for one other complaint (this season) no one has complained about the bed. We are there in the off season and have had no issues. Second, again the pillows were picked for the same reason. Lots of sleepers tend to squish the fluffy pillows so we thought we’d pick in between fluffy for multiple sleepers. Again no complaints about the pillows. Third, the plastic cover is to protect the mattress for hygiene reasons. On top of that we have a mattress pad. You can’t feel the plastic through the mattress pad. If you didn’t have a mattress pad on the bed, we would have immediately brought one over if you had let us know. The cleaner says that there is currently a mattress pad on the bed. Fourth, we do have large bowls. They are in the cabinet over the stove. Fifth, I agree the TV can be complicated that’s why we leave very clear directions. When Spectrum makes a better system we will be first in line. And finally, you texted me multiple times during your stay. Not once did you mention any of these issues. You did however text me about the hot water heater not working. We received your text on Sunday night and the plumber was there Monday afternoon. The hot water heater is inspected during the off season for any issues. So you can imagine our surprise that there was an issue. Guess what? There was no issue. You ran the shower so long that you drained all the hot water. The plumber told us that combined with the low flow shower head and hot water capacity, you must have run the shower for three hours! The hot water was working when he arrived. You texted to apologize but we still had to pay for a service fee for a three hour shower! Nowhere in your poor rating did you mention this incident or the prompt attention to the issue. I would have been more than happy to tell you where the large bowls were, to provide a new mattress pad for your comfort or help with the TV but instead you choose to rate us poorly. A large majority of guests enjoy their stay and are repeat guests. Glad you will not be returning.
