Barracca on the Bay will provide guests a restorative fabulous experience to make many cherished memories: from the breathtaking waterfront views , to the homes many extra interior amenities. Casual luxury inside and many options to explore outside-for dining, yoga,  hammock-lounging, photography or lawn games.  *many of our guests return for multiple getaways a  year & reviews reflect 100% excellence of the home, cleanliness & exceeding their expectations.
Barracca On The Bay is coastal vacation home on the East shore of the incredible Tomales Bay. Amazing views of sunsets over Tomales Bay and the Point Reyes National Seashore, fill the home`s interior with an ever changing theater of waterfront vistas each season.
Egrets, Herons, Pelicans, and seals are frequent visitors to the shoreline, against a backdrop of the sparkling blue waters of the bay, and the untouched rolling hills of the Point Reyes beyond.
The custom designed lodge home has aged cedar timbers vaulting all ceilings; decks, panoramic windows capture western seashore, bay views, and magical sunsets. Barracca is a great private get away spot for a family, intimate reunions of friends, or couples seeking a very private romantic country retreat.
Several guests return frequently for `inspirational solitude` or nature retreats as they compose new music, work on novels, or capture the gorgeous environment for their art or photographic endeavors. Couples return for anniversaries and families return for new explorations of the many activities in the area and to create more cherished memories.
After a day of coastal exploring, hiking, kayaking Tomales Bay, biking or just relaxing, return to a cozy fire at the shell & rock hearth, watch the sunset from the expansive decks, delight in creating a wonderful meal in the gourmet kitchen , barbecue fresh local seafood, grass fed meats, or world famous fresh Hog Island Oysters brought in from just down the bay.
Close the day with a soak in the spa under the cloak of the Milky Way. The views, ambience, and solitude, makes Barracca a fantastic vacation spot.

**Please note: this is a rural location, while many concierge services can be arranged well in advance , this is not luxury hotel stay where onsite services, amenities, or requests can be ordered or delivered by the property manager or owner. We provide a list of local activities, places to dine, hike and shop in advance of your reservation.
****Also , this home does not allow additional guests or gatherings of any kind on the property due to the septic, water systems and parking restrictions.
Please read the house rules and policies before reserving.
Guests have full private access to the entire home and property , except for 1 room and garage which is for owner use only.
This home has contactless entry .
Host is available to respond to maintenance issues after check in if needed.
Please have all guest thoroughly read the house manual upon arrival for all home operations, safety , and to avoid damages to the sensitive septic and water use issue.
There is no interaction with the host except for advance requests for additional information about the home or area in advance of check in.
Please note, local. Property manager will drive by the home to check on the premises to assure no more guests than are listed, extra cars , or pets are not staying at the home.
Barracca is at the end of a private road with only a few other homes. It s views to the west across Tomales Bay and the wilds of Pt Reyes are captivating in all seasons. There are really no other vacation homes on our shoreline that have as a large private yard, that are distanced from road noise of hwy 1, or as spacious with large decks facing waterfront.
We love our location , a short drive to some of the finest dining in W. Marin and N. of SF;
Tony’s Seafood,Nick`s Cove, and Hog Island Oyster. Also, launch your kayak, SUP, or sailboat right from Barracca shoreline or head out to cycle the many country roads of West Marin!
A car is necessary to see the nearby sights of Marin and Sonoma.
Kayak trips on the bay, cycling on all the nearby roads, and hiking are popular ways to experience the natural beauty of the entire area from different vantage points!

Our home is not suitable for toddlers younger than 4 Yrs as it is not baby/child proof and has many feature unsafe for young children.
Children younger than 10 may not enter the Jacuzzi.
All children must be supervised at the home and property at all times and not left unattended without an adult or parent present.
**Please note due to limitations to our septic and water please list any day use visitors as guests at the time of the reservation even though they may not be sleeping at the home. Advance permission prior to the reservation is required for any day use visitors to the property. (Limit 2)
Barracca Lease and Policies: by leasing Barracca on the Bay the Leasee and Guests legally are bound as though a signed document to abide by the these policies listed.
All guest must read the house manual upon arrival, in Dining Room so as to be aware of all information necessary for a problem free ; relaxing and cozy stay at our home.
o No pets (Unless a pet agreement and fee is amended to this lease and reservation)
o No smoking /vaping/fireworks or fires anywhere on the property
o no social gatherings, additional day use guests : total guests cannot be more than indicated on the original reservation request without prior owner approval due to sensitive septic code and water and issues.
o Check-in time is 4PM - 9PM and check out by 11AM o
Self check-in with electronic keyless entry.
1.Check in is after 4pm. Check out is 11 am, guest remaining after check out may have deductions from deposits due to property management or cleaning team inconvenience, and new guests arriving. Any alternate time must be confirmed in writing or via email with the property manager/owner 5 days before arrival
2. This is a NON SMOKING/Vaping home and property. Evidence of smoking/vaping in the house will result in guest being charged cost of cleaning all carpets and furniture. This will be deducted from deposit.
3. We ask our guests to remove shoes before coming inside or in the entry room. This is a beach house; sand can damage plumbing, floors and furniture. No sand whatsoever in the showers, or in the jacuzzi on the outside deck.
4. Pets are NOT permitted; evidence of pets found in the home would be grounds for eviction and no refund of rent. Guests will be charged cost of cleaning all carpets and furniture. This will be deducted from your deposit. (see pet amendment if a pet is allowed for a reservation)
5. We will not rent to vacationing students or singles under 28 years of age.
6. FURNISHINGS – The house is fully equipped including mattress pads, pillows, blankets, duvet quilts, towels and linens and many other amenities. Paper goods, cleaning supplies, cooking spices and condiments, soap, and shampoo are also provided. Do not remove any furnishings from inside the house for any reason. (For example, towels, pillows, furniture, kitchen or dining ware or books,, etc) If items are removed, you will be liable for replacement.
7. Parking – PLEASE CARPOOL to Barracca. Parking for only 2 cars on the premises. Cars MUST DRIVE SLOWLY ON entry drive at all times. Inquire with property manager if you require an exception for additional parking.
8. No fireworks, no tents/RVs, no outdoor fires. No pets or Smoking/Vaping inside or outside the home or property. Violation will result in immediate eviction, loss of rent, and security deposit.
9. If more guests or cars than indicated on the reservation are at the home or property at any time, there is a pet, or more than2 cars, or a neighbor notes disturbance you and all guests may also be evicted, charged extra per guest or car, or forfeit all lease payments.
Please be considerate and respectful of the neighbors. We do not allow, under any circumstances, large parties or disturbance of the peace. If you want to throw a party, this is not the place to do it unless you have made arrangements with the owners for additional guest during the reservation process.
10. MAINTENANCE - Malfunction of appliances or service requests for, televisions, spa, appliances etc., will be responded to ASAP. Please notify owner of requests to handle a maintenance issue first. Do not call service personnel unless authorized to do so. There will be no rebates or refunds issued to Guests for any reason if every good faith effort is made to ensure the property is maintained to highest standards. Guest is to maintain property as if it were their own. PLEASE REPORT ANY PROBLEMS OR DAMAGES THE DAY OF CHECK-IN TO property manager. IF NOT REPORTED WE MUST ASSUME THE DAMAGE OR LOSS
OCCURRED DURING YOUR OCCUPANCY.
11. Rearranging furniture is not permitted. Wearing wet bathing suits on leather furniture or other inside furnishings is not permitted and causes damage beyond wear and tear.
12. Telephone/Internet only mainland USA calls allowed on landline.
Wifi is for email and general use. It will not work and may jam completely if 2 or more people are trying to download movies, lengthy information. Please do major large Downloads to your arrival (movies, novels etc.) prior to your arrival.
13. Security/Privacy: Do not allow neighbors or guest of neighboring rentals onto the property or into the home. There are occasionally people who ask to see the home, its interior; who we have not authorized to do so. Many are walking from nearby, or just checking out the area out of curiosity, or realtors. It’s not often but occasionally does happen.
