Sandy Shores #304 - Please note: The elevator at Sandy Shores will be out of service from April 6 through mid-May 2027 for scheduled maintenance. All guest units are on floors above ground level.

Fantastic large open plan one bedroom one bath unit at Sandy Shores. Updated Kitchen with granite counter tops and maple cabinetry, fully stocked with everything you need.

Sandy Shores #304 offers a large living area has ample seating and opens out the the direct beach front balcony looking over the beach and Gulf of Mexico. Bedroom has two queen beds, television and walk in closet. Linens, extra towels and pillows are provided for the comfort of our guests. Please note there is also a sleeper sofa in the living area (sheets available upon check-in). Enjoy free WiFi. This condo doesn't have a phone.

Sandy Shores is a Smoke Free property including all private balconies and common areas.

You will be required to sign a rental agreement with SunHost Resorts prior to a reservation being confirmed

As a SunHost guest, you will have access to office services, including copying and printing boarding passes. Seven day a week maintenance service is available as well as a 24 hour emergency on call person. This is a non smoking home. Sorry No Pets Allowed.

John's Pass Village, a popular destination for year round residents and tourists alike, is just across the street. The Village has over one hundred unique shops, a variety of restaurants, the local fishing fleet, dolphin watching and shelling tours, boat rentals, parasailing and jet skiing. Best of all as a SunHost customer you can walk to this great entertainment destination. Anchor tenants include Bubba Gumps, Hooters and Hubbards Marina and also world famous Bamboo Beer Garden.

Madeira Beach is a sought after community, just west of St. Petersburg. Its 2.5 mile beach is popular with sun lovers and offers some of the best fishing in the area. This Gulf getaway has something for everyone, including dolphin watching, water sports along some of the most beautiful crystal clear waters in the world.

Nearest airports are Tampa International Airport at just over 20 miles and St. Petersburg Clearwater International at 10 miles away.

Not only was the space itself great, the location can NOT be beaten. John's Pass is directly across the street, and while it might seem like that would mean heavy traffic, that was never a challenge during our mid-July visit. The jetty results in an established border that helps to make the beach less crowded right in front of this property. It was also fun to watch the drawbridge opening to let boats pass in and out.

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The room was in need of some updating. The bathroom especially. The shower head was terrible. The were 3 different lite bulbs in the bathroom. The lighting fixture was rusted. The couch was old and sagged. The was black over the sliding door. This unit needs a good cleaning and painting. We have stayed here before in a different unit.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great location to everything and view. Condo was very clean and well maintained. Couch and shower needs a major upgrade. Not much comfy seating in living room. Property is pretty good. They do not patrol smoking so cigarette smoke and Marijuana smell quite often throughout the day and night. Elevator was broken most of the week and Property could be kept cleaner. Pool area was cleaned and nice every morning though. Having your own parking spot is nice. We have stayed at Sandy Shores for 4 years and will return mostly because of location and not a crowded beach.

Beautiful view from balcony!

I only gave an over all rating of three stars mainly because the building is extremely old , and the elevators were very slow forcing us to use the stairs frequently, you can’t beat the view though!

Great Madeira Beach January 2023 vacation

My husband and I were very happy with our stay at Sandy Shores. Our condo had a perfect view of the beach, ocean, and beautiful sunsets. The building, grounds, and condo unit were very well maintained. Great location, very walkable area...right on the beach, close to shops, restaurants, grocery store and other activities. We will be coming back next year.

The building is very rundown & noisy. Can hear the elevator traveling and the ding when it arrives etc.Walls and doors are beat up. Exception is the pool and pool area are well kept. The condo was in fair shape. Doors and walls beat up. The furniture was cheap and some of it was beat up too. Couch was broken down. You couldn't sit on it you sat in it. Mattress was fair. You could feel the side rails of the matteress and made noise when you turned over. Bedroom ceiling damaged, cracked and sagging from probable water damage.Old venetian blinds on bedroom window bent up. I did not try to open them because I was afraid it would break completely. Exterior door had gap at bottom that let in noise, air and anything else. I did not cook so I can't speak to the appliances or cookware. Good view and location. Was not worth the price we paid. Very disappointed.

March 2018 Stay

Have stayed at this general property 5 times and been good, but the property is now fairly run down. This condo is ok, jas at least been upgraded with newer bath, updated kitchen, newer tile floors. Carpet in bedroom and main living area is dated and should be replaced. Sliding door to balcony is original and doesn't work well. In general, you can tell that toe unit owner only does the very bare minimum to keep it rented. Beware, the building only has one (1) very slow and small elevator. be prepared to wait. During this trip, there was significant construction going on from 8-4:30 every day. Major inconvenience and noise all day at the pool. Not a good experience.

We booked this condo because the title stated it was "updated," but the reality was completely different and unsafe. Upon opening the door, the room smelled heavily musty. We quickly discovered potential mold in the living room, exposed capped electrical wiring on the bedroom ceiling fan, poor repair patchwork throughout, and a missing door weather shield. To make matters worse, it wasn't properly cleaned and had hair left in the shower drain.While the management company (Sunhost) did eventually move us to a different room, they refused to refund the cleaning fee for this unacceptable first unit. The "updated" description is highly misleading. Avoid this specific unit.

Also I found the area around our locatation good for shopping or eating and also fairly accessible, with elevators and public restrooms. The people I had contact with were great, but the business' phone app wasn't working so that was a little bit of a downer to do things on my phone. Regardless, we plan to go back!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is the 2nd time staying at this property and we have already booked for next year. The complex is in a perfect location near Johns Pass with restaurants, bars and shopping. We visited mid-June and the beach was not very crowded. We had plenty of room for our chairs and kids to play. The pool was never crowded and there was always lounge chairs available throughout the day and evening. Our Unit was clean and well organized and stocked with towels, kitchen supplies, etc. Beds were somewhat comfortable and there were plenty of pillows, blankets, etc. The ice maker in the freezer was a major plus as we would empty ice into ice buckets in the freezer so we never had to buy ice for our small beach cooler. The balcony had plenty of seating and a lounge chair. Living room has a nice huge TV and smaller one in the bedroom with plenty of options for channels. It is very spacious and was perfect for our needs for the week.

Sandy Shores Unit 304

Rating Details: The property manager was somewhat unhelpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was very dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed here for 7 years and the owner of the unit has done nothing to improve it. Vent on the ceiling in the bathroom had a water leak from the year before from the unit above and when we got there this year it still had not been repaired properly. However each year the cost has gone up 20%. Carpet was all stained and beds were horrible to sleep in. Also there is a lack of security outside by the pool. People jumping the fence to get in and the giving of the codes to the entrances to outsiders. I realize there is a huge turnover but owners need to take responsibility for the cleanliness of their unit and there needs to be security at peak times like Spring Break which is when we were there in the Month of March. We will not be returning. 😞

The bathroom air vent was not working and there were big holes in the ceiling. All this aside I would stay here again.
