Although its location makes Playa Hermosa feel somewhat isolated, the small but well-developed town offers many amenities. Playa Hermosa, which translates to Beautiful Beach, is located in northern Guanacaste Province. Keep in mind that Costa Rica has several beaches named Playa Hermosa, including near Jaco, Santa Teresa, and Uvita, but the one where this lovely home is located is in Guanacaste. The Liberia International is the closest airport, at about 30 minutes away.

Large, spacious home for family gatherings.  The stunning infinity edge pool overlooks the breathtaking sites of the Bay of Papagayo. The pool has a shallow entrance that is perfect for new moms and infants first getting acquainted to the water. There is also a lot of green space in the side yard to enjoy the sounds of nature. 

Nature abounds, as Howler monkeys make an appearance in the tree canopies in nearby neighborhoods. The views will help create lifelong memories you and friends and family will cherish for a lifetime.

This magnificent, well-appointed, 5 bedroom-5.5 bathroom house in the gated community of Hermosa Heights, sleeps 12. Beautiful Hermosa Beach is spread out before you, which offers snorkeling, fishing, kayaking and surfing tours that leave right from the beach. Local adventure activities for the whole family, including zip-line canopy tours above the tropical forest, estuary excursions, horseback riding, volcanoes, hot springs and waterfalls are all within an hours drive. The BBQ Grill located poolside along with a well appointed outdoor dining set allow you to enjoy the best of dining alfresco, Should you wish to hire someone to prepare local delicacies in the gourmet kitchen or eat out at one of the many excellent restaurants in town or on the beach, feel free to contact our in-house concierge to assist with your culinary wishes. We had an excellent time. Had a pet Pedro the giant iguana that lives in the large tree and would come to visit the pool and greeted us upon arrival. House was amazing and pool was even better. Definitely a highlight of the trip.

What an amazing property! We had a fabulous time in this wonderful house. Huge bedrooms and bathrooms and a spacious house all together. The view is unbeatable. And the pool is relaxing and beautiful.

Lovely villa

My review is late, we stayed Nov 2022. We loved our stay here. Everything was clean and just as advertised in the listing. The management team was great upon arrival and very easy to get a hold of for needed help. We loved Playa Hermosa - what a beautiful beach! - and the restaurants in the town! We did go in rainy season and it could be a little chilly - we wish we would have had more hot water, the showers were always luke warm which I imagine in the warmer months isn't an issue.

Epic Vacation

We chose Ilan Ilan for an epic vacation with our five children and partners. This house and hospitality of the Zindis team exceeded every expectation. Location: the house sits just up the hill from Playa Hermosa (spectacular beach) and is walkable should you be so bold as to walk back up the hill. The town is great and has most of what you need. The house is just a 10 minute drive from Coco which has Auto Mercado (Whole Foods of CR) allowing you to get the rest. The Zindis concierge, Bryan, met us at our house and helped us plan our itinerary. This allowed for us to lean on local knowledge of the area and he helped us pick perfect excursions, all of which were within 90 minutes drive. The property: wonderful. We spent hours just sitting in the pool looking over Playa Hermosa. The Sunsets were spectacular and the indoor/outdoor nature of the west facing property was so great. We spotted 15 different types of birds and several large iguanas (the largest was a bright green dude they've named "Pedro"). The street backs up to a jungle and it feels that way - so cool. The House: Impeccable. The house is big but not overwhelming, allowing everyone their space but great common areas for hanging out. We had 9 people with three couples and three teenagers and it perfectly accommodated us. When we polled the family as to what was their favorite part of the trip (we did incredible things) three people said "the house." This entire experience was a 10/10. I could not recommend it more.

Great Location and Wonderful View

The location was perfect. We loved the pool and the breath taking view. We had Chef Gerson come in to cook for us and he and his wife were wonderful. We loved Roberto's for lunch and dinner and as a place to set up on the beach. The house and pool were wonderful and we felt very safe. Milena was always quick to help if we needed anything.

Beautiful House on a (Very Steep) Hill

We had a lovely time at Casa Ilan Ilan! The pool and the views alone made our time there magical. The bedrooms were comfortable, the kitchen and dining area was easy to use and inviting, and the staff was responsive and helpful. The house is on top of a steep hill that gave us our daily workout but is about a 10 minute walk to a grocery store and 20 minute walk to the beach. There were a few nice restaurants within walking distance as well. On the last day we found a scorpion in the bathroom; not sure how that got there! Other than that the house was free of creepy crawlies.:) Finally, the Zindis group helped with arranging a transfer from the airport to the house and also transport between the house and a tour we went on. Made it very convenient! Would highly recommend.

Beautiful home, great property management!

We had a large group getting together for the week, ages 5-70+ and this location was great. Every room was an en-suite, and the King bedroom on ground floor was great for my mother-in-law to avoid stairs. Everything was as described, pool was pristine, AC all worked and great kitchen to gather and cook in. The house is towards the top of a hill, buy transportation is always happy to come to the door. Everyone felt very safe the entire time and on-site Zindis management was great, super responsive and helped with ideas for our stay, dining, etc.

Exactly as hoped - even better

We loved the pics of the house and view and pool. And the actual property did not disappoint in any way. It was fabulous. I cannot think of anything I would offer in the way of criticism. Loved it!

Playa Hermosa house

We loved our stay at Ilan Ilan. The view was spectacular and the location was convenient. Having a car was definitely a plus. You could manage without one but we used it everyday to go to the beach or to dinner. The steep climb up the hill to the house would have been tough on foot. We would stay there again in a heartbeat.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING

1st time visiting Costa Rica and Zindis Group made our booking and planning very easy for us. The house was perfect. The views and the pool were wonderful. The property was extremely clean. The location couldn't have been better. Close to the beaches (Playa Hermosa was our favorite), close to the airport, excursions, and waterfalls WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Great Location in Playa Hermosa!

We had an amazing stay at this house in Playa Hermosa! The house has an incredible view of the ocean and is in a gated neighborhood. We did have some trouble getting hot water consistently and internet was spotty for streaming. We brought our own fire stick and was able to connect but it was very slow. We did not have any issues with cell signal or with basic internet needs that did not require video. We did see that the sheets on the trundle beds were very dirty so we changed these ourselves. In all likelihood previous guests had not used them so they may have been overlooked by the cleaning staff. The rest of the house was clean and good to go. The Zindis team was incredibly responsive and helpful whenever we needed them. We booked several tours and activities through them as well. There was some miscommunications on that front (though perhaps nothing Zindis could have done) so it may be best to book these directly through your tour provider of choice. We also used the neighborhood pool slides which the kids thought were a total blast. Locally we ate at Aquasport, Ginger, Mar Azul and had chefs come in two nights. We also got coffee and baked goods at the new Pawhouse Roasters at the entry to the community. The Pawhouse owners were on site and very helpful and coffee was great. The food universally was delicious and we were all frankly surprised at how good it was. Highly recommend setting up shop at the Aquasport beach chairs and ordering drinks and lunch. Beachfront service! We cannot wait to return to CR and would not hesitate to stay here again.

Perfect Vacay!

The house and pool are gorgeous and the view is even better than the pics. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets in the infinity pool. An adorable 4 foot long lizard visited us a few times--we have great video of him drinking from the pool! The beaches and restaurants were wonderful. We plan to return next year! Thank you for amazing memories. : )

Best Place in Costa Rica

From the time we booked this beautiful home the service was spot on. Every question was answered in a very timely manner as well as booking activities ahead of arrival and after arrival. All expectations were exceeded including the house location, cleanliness, supplies and timeliness of all booked services (and we had a lot). Ian was above and beyond accommodating with extras we added on after arrival. Trash was picked up on a timely basis and pool cleaned daily very early in the am before sunrise. We absolutely loved this property’s location to restaurants, beaches and shopping. Thank you Zindis

Perfect house!

We had such a lovely time at Casa Ilan Ilan! Slept all 11 of our family comfortably. Immaculately clean house, well appointed kitchen, gorgeous bathrooms, comfy beds, perfect pool, ridiculous views! This was the perfect base camp for a week of adventures.

Wonderful vacation home surrounded by beautiful flora and fauna!

We loved our experience, Ilan Ilan became our home away from home! We did excursions, but it was nice to come "home" and relax. The view is amazing. There is also wildlife around the house. Every time we would go outside and search the wooded area next to us for the birds, iguanas and monkeys! My wife and I, our 3 teenagers, and my parents had plenty of room and bathrooms. The kitchen and grill was perfect for meals on the patio. House: Clean, charming, and had everything everyone needed! We rented a van to hold 7, and to help get up the hill we would get up speed at the bottom, at airport the rental company lost our reservation we called Zindis & they delivered van! We found the sustainable touches a part of the culture, as the owner and Costa Ricans take pride in keeping their beautiful country natural. Some of the lights and fans are on timers, and the air conditioners have remotes to make them easy to turn off and on, and we were careful to conserve energy. They are big on conserving water, so the pressure isn't as high as in USA, but we were mindful to spread out our showers, again being mindful is part of the culture so we were happy to oblige The tap water is clean and drinkable. We have a couple sensitive stomachs, so I brought a Berkey water purifier to purify our drinking water. Again we watched our footprint when visiting this beautiful country, so I tried not to get plastic bottles of water, instead kept a pitcher of purified water in the fridge We kept a box of recyclables and would take them down to the Luperon to recycle. There are plenty of beach towels. The washer and dryer works well The whirlpool is not heated to conserve energy, but with the hot weather you don't need it Tourist stuff: Hermosa was great little town. The Luperon grocery store and souvenir shop by Hermosa Heights has everything you need. Roberto's was our favorite restaurant for dinner with the sunset, and they used reusable straws! Aqua sport was great lunch spot. Ginger fine dining for dinner. Bocelli's great Italian. The Hermosa Heights pool has a swim up bar and great bar food, and we loved the pool and slides! We did a hike in Rincon De la Vieja park, started at the Las Pailas ranger station (toll road, 700 colons per person), took La Cangreja waterfall trail through rainforest and waterfall was amazing, saw white faced monkeys. We went to Diamante, awesome ziplining and seeing animals. Sunset sail and snorkel through Tico Tours amazing. Pura Vida!

Exceptional House and Location

Casa Ilan Ilan is better than pictured. The house was perfectly clean and well appointed in every way (down to tissue boxes and pump hand soaps in bathrooms). Air conditioners worked well. Didn't see any critters inside the house (of great importance to a few of our traveling party). The pool is awesome, especially if you have little ones as the shallow entry area is relatively big. Playa Hermosa was an excellent location if you want a bit more of the off the beaten path location. Slightly bigger Playa Coco area with its grocery store, restaurants, touristy shops, etc. is a curvy 15 minutes down the road. We stayed during the 3 week "Little Summer" in July and had NO rain. Absolutely loved Costa Rica and will definitely be back.

Breathtaking View Casa IIan IIan

Casa Ilan Ilan was a fantastic home for our group of 10, 4 adults and 6 kids, the view was breathtaking. The support from Josh and Edgar doing our stay was simply the best always their for support in planning our excursion and activities. The location is great for fabulous restaurants, beaches, zip lining etc. I would highly recommend you and your family stay at this fantastic home. We will be back John

Great Family Gathering Place

Casa Ilan Ilan was our Home for a week family vacation in Costa Rica. Three family groups left Pittsburgh, Washington DC, and Austin for relaxing in the sun and experiencing a new location. This Home and location were perfect for us. First the home: -Fantastic View -Spacious bedrooms and baths -Fully stocked kitchen with plenty of utensils and service ware -Pool - great for all ages and swim abilities -CLEAN - CLEAN - CLEAN —— immaculate inside and out Activity Recommendations: -Fishing - Tio Albany on Playa Hermosa beach took several of us out for sport fishing and sightseeing. Fantastic- he even arranged for our catch to be prepared for dinner on the beach in the evening -Shopping - Hidden Garden Art Gallery - near the airport - 6-7 rooms works by Costa Rican artists and others living locally -Zipline and Animals - Diamonte Eco Adventure Park

Unbelievable experience! Highly recommend Casa Ilan Ilan

Loved Casa Ilan Ilan. My group of 8 had a tremendous experience with this house and the staff here in Playa Hermosa. The views are just out of this world from the house, the location is convenient to some great restaurants, beaches, and shops. All activities provided through Tico Tours were amazing, from zip lining to whitewater rafting, catamaran, canopy tours, and ATVs. This was a perfect vacation and this was a perfect house. Couldn't be happier with our decision to stay at Casa Ilan Ilan. Zindis Group was absolutely fabulous to work with from booking to departure. Thank you!!

Amazing time in Playa Hermosa

Casa Ilan Ilan is a fantastic property and our group of 11 had a wonderful stay. The house is equipped with everything you need to have a stress free vacation and the layout is extemely accomodating for a large party. The view from the pool was beautiful and our group ate most meals out on the patio. We will definately be back!
