We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful home with a beautiful view. Home was exceptionally clean and always a timely response when communicating with the host. Would highly recommend.

The property was well maintained and clean. Both inside and out it allowed for us to relax and just enjoy to peace of being in the a county setting.

We really enjoyed your barndominium. Great location with beautiful views and being able to enjoy the outdoors by walking the trails, sitting on porch or by the fire pit. Paige was really easy to work with. I would highly recommend.

Our stay in Madison County was simply a delight! The home was located in the country among beautiful prairie and rolling hills, but not so far out of town that it was inconvenient. The property is very private and the owners take great care to make sure everything is perfect for your stay. Paige’s communication was excellent and the checkout process was clear and easy. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet getaway.

This property is spectacular! We loved everything about the property. The views are awesome out the front door. We saw a few deer running through the property, a few bunnies which my wife absolutely loved. We would recommend this property to anyone and everyone.

Super clean, great communication, easy process throughout. Rural but exactly what I was looking for. Close proximity to Winterset, St. Charles, and Des Moines. Will definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

This was the perfect place for a girls getaway to see the bridges of Madison County. The house has a great kitchen, stocked with all the things you need to cook and eat. There is plenty of space to sit back and watch the Roku TV. The dining table is large and provided us a place to the play games we brought (they have games for you as well!) The beds were comfortable. Primary bedroom has a large dresser to unpack and "nest". The grounds are beautiful with sweeping views of the nearby green hills a fields of corn. There is a great walking trail mowed around the property that leads you to a pretty pond with cat tails. (Trail is about a mile long.) The patio has comfortable cushioned seating to watch the sunset and a high top table and chairs to dine outdoors or just hang out and talk over drinks. The fireplace is great with comfortable Adirondack chairs. We had a fire and made smores! The short drive to Winterset was convenient and we ate lunch in town one day at the Drift and shopped several cute stores. Overall I highly recommend this property!

We had a wonderful stay at The Lone Oak! The home was spotless and had everything we needed for a comfortable getaway. The hosts were friendly and always available with any questions we had. The peaceful setting with the rolling hills and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets made it easy to relax and unplug.We especially enjoyed sitting on the porch and taking in the beautiful countryside views while watching the many birds and other wildlife. The stocked kitchen and comfortable beds made it feel like a home away from home.The location is perfect for exploring the charming town of Winterset. We enjoyed visiting the famous covered bridges, browsing the local shops, and checking out the restaurants and wineries nearby before returning to the quiet countryside to unwind.We’d definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in Madison County!

We had an amazing stay and would absolutely book here again!We came to Iowa for the Hinterland Music Festival, and this house was the perfect location—just minutes from the festival grounds, making it incredibly easy to get back and forth. The home was exactly as described: clean, comfortable, quiet, and had everything we needed for our stay.Paige was an outstanding host. Communication was excellent from the moment we booked through checkout. We even accidentally nicked a door frame with my wheelchair during our stay, and she couldn’t have been more kind and understanding about it. This trip was especially meaningful because it was a surprise birthday trip for our daughter, and seeing her favorite group, KATSEYE, perform made for memories we’ll never forget. Having such a comfortable place to come back to each night made the experience even better.If you’re coming to Hinterland—or just looking for a peaceful place to stay in the area—I can’t recommend this property enough. We’d happily stay here again!
