The Bird House - a family-friendly cottage in Katoomba

Country style cottage situated in a tranquil part of South Katoomba. Be at home in the rustic western red cedar interiors and exposed beams for that romantic mountain lodge feeling.
This three bedroom cottage is split over two levels and is equally suited to families, couples and small groups. The main level has two bedrooms, open plan living, dining and kitchen, bathroom and laundry. Ducted gas heating throughout. Upstairs you will find a spacious third bedroom/playroom with toys and a second television to keep the kids busy.

Celebrate the great outdoors and explore the English-style cottage garden, beautiful in every season. Birdwatchers can delight in the abundance of King Parrots, Crimson Rosellas, Cockatoos and other bird life in the area - attract them to the backyard with the native bird feeders and watch them up close! Relax in the backyard in the warmer months and cook up an Aussie storm on the BBQ.
Take a stroll through the bush behind the property, down to pond to feed the ducks or take bikes down the old Catalina Raceway for the kids to race around the track.

Just a short walk down the hill, the Katoomba Aquatic Centre has indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a gym and a large children's play centre.

The cottage is a short drive to iconic destinations; the Three Sisters at Echo Point, Katoomba Falls and Scenic World; and a few minutes drive to Katoomba supermarkets, shops, cafes and restaurants.

Our stay at the bird house was truly delightful! It lived up to its name with a variety of wildbirds visiting the back yard whenever we put seed out (seed is provided). The kitchen was fully equipped and the pantry was even stocked with some essentials. Bedrooms were all lovely and comfy, and the whole house was spotless. Very conveniently located, near Echo Point, Katoomba shops and pool. We would love to return for another, longer stay.

Lovely house in a quiet street and close to centre of town by car and to most walks and sight seeing places. My son loved the room upstairs. The birds visiting the garden was an extra joy to us. Over all a great stay. Great for doing the abseil as the YHA very close for pick up.

Very impressive

Bird house is close to the Main Street of Katoomba but still free from traffic noise.Fully equipped with everything you could need.The electric blankets greatly appreciated, and lives up to its name with visiting parrots looking for a feed.Highly recommended.

Wonderful place to stay

Stayed for a short weekend break with family. Beautiful little house with everything you could ask for supplied for a really comfortable stay.The house was well maintained and clean with all kitchen utensils, towels, bedding etc supplied. Nice comfy beds too We even had bird seed supplied for the native birds to feed on from the bird feeders in the back yard.Claire is a wonderful host with clear communication and a very easy entry process for the property.Air-conditioning and bedroom heaters were plenty to stay warm in winter. And the loft bedroom upstairs was pretty cool for the teenagers as a retreat!Fabulous place to stay in close proximity to all things The Blue Mountains.

One of the Best Stay!

Our family loved it! The house was lovely, it had everything from cutleries to basic needs like paper towels, even wet wipes omg — we don’t come across alot of places that stocks up on so many cleaning supplies! Location wise, it’s close to cafes, Scenic World and a few lookout points! We rate this place a 10/10 would def come back!

Blue Mountains weekend

The Bird House was a lovely find in Katoomba. Close to town and the location near the aquatic centre was a bonus. The house itself was perfect for our group, comfy beds and a cosy living area made for an enjoyable couple of nights. Communication with the host was excellent. We are very regular visitors to the Blue Mountains and would happily stay in this lovely cottage again.

Loved the bird visits!

The Birdhouse in Katoomba is a charming getaway! We absolutely loved the frequent visits from the local birds it added such a magical touch to the experience. The accommodation had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, but it could definitely use better insulation. Noise traveled quite a bit, even up to the second floor. Despite that, it was a delightful place to connect with nature and unwind.

Restful Getaway

Beautiful, clean, comfortable cottage that felt like 'home'. Heating / cooling as needed, laundry facilities and full kitchen. A wonderful, restful stay!
