To ensure a healthy stay with us at Casa de Cooper, we have implemented the following safety precautions:

~ Our cleaning staff is being extra diligent in disinfecting the property – before guests arrive and after guests depart -- with particular attention to high touch items and hard surfaces. To allow the extra time needed for this enhanced cleaning protocol, we will ensure a minimum of 24 hours between reservations.

~ To limit non-essential contact between staff and guests, we have temporarily suspended our daily housekeeping service except in an emergency.

You’ll be wowed by the sweeping sea and valley views at Vista Paraiso. This two-story 2 bedroom, 3 bath luxury vacation rental is ideally located at the top of Pelican Eyes Resort overlooking the bay of San Juan del Sur.

Your stay at Vista Paraiso includes a bilingual meet & greet, personal concierge and daily housekeeping. Our maids will even do your dishes!

The Space
The villa is surrounded by a covered porch with sitting areas perfect for reading, napping or sipping a cocktail in the tropical breeze. Bring a book or two and quiet your mind in a lounger, rocking chair or hammock.

The private plunge pool is the perfect place for kids to splash the day away. Your Vista Paraiso vacation also includes access to the 2 community pools, which are open daily from 7 am until sundown.

There is a fully equipped kitchen complete with microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, espresso machine and unlimited coffee. The attached living room includes a flat screen TV and comfortable seating for 8. It’s the perfect place to enjoy some Netfilx after a day of exploring.

Each of the Vista Paraiso’s bedrooms has a private entrance with terrace plus spacious ensuite bathroom with hot water rainfall shower. Bedrooms 1 has a king bed. And bedroom 2 has two queen beds. Our quality mattresses, pillows and linens ensure a comfortable night’s sleep.

Location

We are accessible from town on foot in 15 minutes for anyone with a good level of fitness. A 3-minute taxi ride to or from town makes the home ideal for all ages of guests at any fitness level.

Our central location provides easy access to the many in-town restaurants, bars, shops and nearby beaches.

The Augusto C Sandino International Airport in Managua is a 2.5 hour drive away. Alternately, you can fly into the Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia. With border crossing travel time is approximately 2 1/2 to 3 hours.

Other things to note

The last 300 meters of road to Casa de Cooper is uphill and unpaved. Extra care is required for guests arriving in low clearance vehicles and compact cars.

This property has an electricity allowance of 35 kilowatts per day. This is a sufficient amount to power the villa with responsible use of air conditioning in the bedrooms. Electricity consumption over this amount will be charged at a rate of $0.50 USD per kilowatt hour.

We are pet friendly and allow one (1) well behaved dog providing it weighs 20 lbs or less. Pets must be registered at the time of booking.

Marvelous home on the hill in San Juan del Sur

Wonderful location inside Pelican Eyes Resort. Terrific host, great views, as well as access to Pelican Eyes swimming pools, restaurant and bars. The home is comfortable, private and beautiful. We will return!

Beautiful and Romantic, private, and very cozy Resort style living (In a very private home)

Spectacular views from every window! Resort living in your own villa. We stayed here over New Years it was spectacular in every way. The surfing, fishing, sailing or just hanging out at your own private pool. Want some excitement head up to the Resort pool that is huge with views of the cruise ships coming into port. Food is awesome atmosphere of adventure. One of our all time favorite vacations we had two small children with us as well. Great safe and beautiful villa with ocean views what more can i say.

You will want this house for your own

We were lucky enough to stay in Casa Cooper for 2 nights. Traveling as 2 couples, we felt there was tons of beautiful space and privacy for everyone. We had our choice of lovely decks to sit out on and gaze over the valley below and the cresent shoreline, which lights up at night. The house is an architectural marvel-textured walls and curvilinier lines everywhere. Recessed lighting and wall sconces made this house really special. The beds were so comfortable and the large showers are beautifully tiled. Just a short walk away is a lovely restaurant overlooking a spectacular pool which overlooks the water and the bay. Transportation was readily available to take you to and from the town to eat at one of the many charming seaside restaurants. The first day we arrived our driver stopped at the grocery store and we bought wine and a few essentials. We were too tired to go into town so we had room service lobster dinners delivered from the main resort's restaurant. Bliss. The owners are super nice and helpful-we ended up at their pool talking, often. Be sure to ask them how to arrange the transportation from the border of Costa Rica if you are driving up, as we did. Their driver, Richard made life super easy to navigate the paperwork, etc. Well worth the extra cost vs. doing it yourself, which is very confusing and time-consuming. The coffee is so good there that we are trying to figure out a way to have some sent to us in the States. The house is immaculate with every convenience you could want, including a huge bottle of purified water and an ice maker. Really a special place! Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with all of us.

Pampered in Paradise

My wife, Colleen and I have been traveling throughout Central America for over 20 years. The theme of our travels has always been to inject ourselves into the local culture, but every now and then we need a break - and that means pampering ourselves by stepping out of the mileau of Central American culture to reacclimate ourselves with the finer side of life. In our case, it was a pleasurable sidestep into George and Sandra Cooper's "Casa de Cooper," an oasis getaway in a country that is beautiful in its own right. We rented a spacious one-bedroom studio overlooking San Juan del Sur Harbor and watched two spectacular sunsets, both accented by a colorful array of red and yellow silhouetted fair weather clouds. The bedroom was dominated by a huge king-size bed tastefully made up with high quality bedding. The entire room is lighted with soft hidden lights bounced off the ceiling to give the essence of suffused luxury. We were pleased to find directed lighting above out bedstead for late-night reading. The bedroom also has a cable TV, Wi-Fi and a CD player, as well as a phone, which can be used to order room service from one of two fine restaurants on site. And, the amenities don't end there. The studio includes ample closet space and a kitchenette with a coffee machine, microwave, a refrigerator, plates and utensils. The bathroom is huge, with twin sinks for his-and-her grooming, a spacious shower, with a separate tap for washing your feet. Then, there are the two swimming pools available to all guests at this amazing 4-unit Spanish-style villa. They are big and equipped with water jets for maximum comfort. The key to success for any business is service and this is perhaps Casa de Cooper's biggest selling point. George and Sandra are often on the premises to cater to all needs. Your personal maid Kayla is always there. There's seemingly no end to the services. Attention is paid to virtually every detail, right town to the local artwork tastefully adorning every wall in the casa, which made our short sojourn a sort of home away from home. We were more than impressed. We were pampered.

Get sick, get Ghosted

I got sick, woke up with 104 fever 4 days before my stay and had to go to the hospital. I messaged the host to advise him immediately that I missed my flight and had to cancel hoping to get a voucher or reschedule. I never heard anything. Then a day prior someone from the resort who represents him asked me how my stay was, at which time I reiterated that I was not even in the country, didn’t make it on my trip, and I advise that representative that had messaged the host. The respond I got was, per policy there’s no refund. Of course. That’s a typical response for someone who’s happy to just accept funds and wait for another renter to come along, easy money. The distance between them and I as I also own rental property and my goal isn’t just to get a payment. It’s 100% satisfaction and longevity through repeat business and referrals, but not everyone works like that.

simply amazing

If you are considering booking Casa de Cooper in San Juan del Sur , you have come across the best place! Do not hesitate. We loved our stay and could not have been happier with the beautiful house, the staff, the owners (great communication and went out of their way to help us and our stay in the area with answers and advice) , the pools and the location. We drove to a different beach every day and walked to town most evenings for dinner. It was perfect! We will most definitely be returning to Casa de Cooper!

Amazing Nica Trip

let me start by saying if I could give 10 stars for our visit to Casa Cooper I would we arrived after a trip across the Costa Rica - Nicaragua border. Which is an experience everyone should have. 4 of the 6 in our party arrived early hoping we didn't have to wait to long. George and Gabriel where right there to meet Us. We had a very warm welcome from both. George walked us through the property with full details on how everything worked. We had the 3 bedroom unit which was just as beautiful as the pictures on the site. Gabriel was the most attentive property manager I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. He was prompt with any of our request, which were not many as George has this figured out. There really wasn't anything we needed. one call to Gabriel and he was right there. George had recommended us to have dinner cooked by his house chef. We planned 2 dinners with Kenny. I have to say they were exceptional and the service and stories were amazing I would highly recommend at least one meal in your beautiful Casa cooked by Kenny and his team. We spent 11 days at Casa Cooper and we were not disappointed at all. The Pelican Eye resort was just as beautiful. Every Sunset was enjoyed by our party of 6 every evening from either the Pool or our own private balcony. We loved the town of San Juan Del Sur. We were lucky enough to have George join us a couple of times for cocktails and stores. He invited us to join him for dinner at his favorite spot - The Black Monkey. If you have a vehicle of your own I highly recommend a visit to this restaurant. The property is beautiful and the food delicious. George also has connections with a cigar factory in Granada, he made arrangements for us to visit. 2 of our guest are getting married this year and he had custom bands made for 40 cigars ( small order for custom) with their names and wedding date on them. Way above and beyond expectations. The visit to the Cigar factory was also a pleasure. They staff were welcoming and informative. Our Departure was seamless. George had made arrangement for all 3 couples to have transportation to our different destinations as we were going in different directions at the end of our stay. We cant THANK George and Gabriel enough for making our stay a very memorable one. WE will be returning. Note: Arriving via Liberia George will make arrangements for transport across the border. Highly recommended.

great place to stay!

We rented 2 bedrooms of the villa and were pleasantly surprised at the accommodations. Everything was spotless! The property manager, Gabriel, lives close by and took care of every detail of our visit. We declined the daily housekeeping and washed our own dishes. We also found the plunge pool to be a great gathering place in the heat of the day..... which is ALL day. We would love to return again. Thanks!

Just Perfect

I'll start out first by saying that Mr Cooper is one of, if not the, most responsive VRBO owner I have ever dealt with. Before we even arrived to his place I felt catered to. He helped me with transportation details amongst other things and I am truly grateful. Second, Casa De Cooper is just fantastic. All the detail have been well thought out. Magnificent vista views from each balcony and greatly appointed rooms greet you at every turn. The showers are truly a dream to get cleaned up in. The pool is pleasant as well. The housekeeping staff do a great job and Gabriel the grounds keeper was also very nice to work with. I would recommend this place to anyone. We were a family of four with 2 kids ages 10 and 13. The kids had fun both at Casa De Cooper and the Pelican Eyes property. My kids took advantage of the free DVD movies they have at the family pool. They enjoyed the lifelike surround sound watching these movies in the master suite as my wife I and I took in the views off the bedroom patio. The beds are spacious and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped. The backup generator was a nice perk as the power grid in Nicaragua can be less than reliable. My only negative and this barely counts is the unreliability of getting a ride into town. We were able to get the front desk to arrange transportation sometimes but other times we just sat in waiting, eventually having to hoof it into town. This is not bad on this home, probably more a problem with our communication skills in dealing with Pelican Eyes. Getting back to the house is a breeze though, for a mere $5 any taxi will wisk your family straight up the hill in minutes. We will be coming back and staying in this wonderful Casa. We hope to next time bring a larger group and rent out everything Mr Cooper has to offer.

Fabulous Vila with a great view

My family and I (kids are 9 and 11) stayed here for 5 nights here in March and loved it. We took the 2 bedroom option which gave us a massive space over 2 floors. We loved the full kitchen and the view and while we didn't use the plunge pool we did use the family infinity pool a 5 min walk away every day. Only negative is the hike uphill from the town, but we found taxis easy to come by.

Casa Cooper is luxury a stone's throw from San Juan town

Myself, husband and two friends stayed at Casa Cooper in June. The house was beautiful with great design features throughout. It was so spacious and had all the modern things you need. It is a short walk downhill to San Juan town. This house gives you all the comforts while still being close to the action. It also has all the amenities of the pelican eyes resort which was great for using the pool, restaurant and bar when we wanted to stay closer to home. Gabriel the manager was so helpful with any questions we had about the area. I would highly recommend Casa Cooper to anyone looking to vacation in the area.

A beautiful and upscale place to stay in San Juan Del Sur

Casa de Cooper is a great place to stay in San Juan Del Sur. It's location is very convenient to town but you sit above it with beautiful views of the ocean and valley. The home itself is very nicely appointed and we did not have anything we needed that was not provided. The showers deliver consistent hot water, the generator insured that we did not lose power all the time, and the beds were really comfortable. George was an absolute pleasure to work with and Gabriel (the house manager) was attentive and helpful whenever we needed him. Pelican Eyes is a great destination and we will return to Casa De Cooper! I would recommend a car to get to town and the northern beaches.

Fun at the top

Casa Cooper is a great place to be. I have just returned from a 3 week stay at the house and can report that is is a wonderful experience. While San Juan Del Sur is quite the crusty place, Casa Cooper is just the opposite...it is clean, quiet, efficient and there are terrific views out of every window. It is also at the top of the hill, so the noise and the confusion of the town are nonexistent. If you want to live in a deluxe environment while having all the fun of San Juan Del Sur, Casa Cooper should be your selection..

Pelican Eyes

The accommodations were phenomenal. My youngest son referred to the place as 'The Best Hotel Ever!' even though it was not a hotel. The place had a spectacular view and was close to town not to mention the restaurant at Pelican Eyes. There is lots to do in San Juan del Sur and if we stay in San Juan del Sur again it will be at this venue. It was amazing. Cannot say enough!!!1

Beautiful House, great stay in San Juan del Sur

Casa de Cooper Vista Paraiso 3bedroom Casa was an excellent location choice for my weekend stay in San Juan del Sur! The house was just impeccably clean and the beds were so soft and comfortable. Loved that each room had their own bathroom. The showers and sinks were beautifully designed with great detail.The views from all the balconies were extraordinary. The pool and outside seating area were much enjoyed by my family. The owner was a delight to work with. He provided valuable information and followed up with me quickly on any questions I had. Booking the house was fast and easy! Upon check in the house manager was very thorough on explaining were everything was including how to operate mini fridges and a/c among other things. Definitely recommend!

Very Nice!

I've rented many places in Nica and this was definitely one of the nicest. Very luxurious accommodations and facilities that made for a very comfortable stay. Incredible views as well. The walk to and from town is fairly significant, but we did it a few times. Overall, I would say having a rental car (which we got from a rental place in SJDS) makes staying here much more enjoyable. It's also very helpful to get out to the many nearby beaches. George and Gabriel the property manager were both great to deal with and very helpful. I would absolutely recommend the casa de cooper. The only possible downside is the proximity to town, but the upside of that is some wonderful peace and quiet when you need it.

Great accomodation

Fantastic apartment. Very well equipped. Great finishing touches. Stylish. Incredible views. Very comfortable. High quality. Very clean. Secure. Luxury. The only thing that tainted our stay was being rather abruptly pushed for payment by the owner. We had paid 50% non-returnable deposit several weeks beforehand. This was best part of $1000 so I felt this secured our booking and gave clear intention that we would be staying at the apartment. We stayed elsewhere in Nicaragua for a week before arriving at the Casa; I didnt check my work emails during this time but only checked them on the day of our arrival at the Casa. To my utter dismay, I found an email from the owner sent the day before our arrival stating "I assume since we have not received your payment, we should cancel your reservation. We are sorry that you will not be with us at Casa on 8 Nov". This is obviously the last thing you need to see when youre in a foreign country and about to move to the booked accomodation. The owner had sent a few emails a few days before that were requesting final and full payment but I hadnt seen these and owner would also have recieved my automated Out Of Office message. I responded immediately to say that we were still planning on completing our reservation and that I would sort out payment that day; this incurred further abrupt and rude emails from the owner. Being from the UK, we are not used to paying 100% upfront for a rental property and, quite frankly, I think this requirement is ludicrous - we would have had no comeback had we paid fully for a property/location that we had not yet seen. Furthermore, we had paid a hefty deposit anyway and I would be staggered if the owner could have filled the property at short notice had we not turned up; all the more reason that his chasing for payment and threats to cancel our booking left a bad taste in our mouths. We had every intention of completing our reservation and paying in full so it was distatsteful to feel that we were in someway trying to avoid our obligations. My advice would be for the owner to avoid communications with clients and allow the rental agency to manage bookings as they provided an excellent and professional service.

We will be back.

We have stayed at Casa de Cooper twice during 2014. Each time has been fantastic! Casa de Cooper is a welcoming and relaxing place with amazing views. You won't want to leave. It's very accessible to the charming town of San Juan del Sur. The owners can arrange transportation from the airport and offered to make food and beverages available upon our arrival. The Casa can be partitioned many different ways based on how many people are in your party. During each of our visits we've had a great holiday. The owners are awesome! We plan to return with additional friends and family in 2015.
