I love the charm of these historic buildings. Just 3 blocks from Casa Rosada 1 block from the Subte on Corrientes, the location was ideal for this Tanguero. Just 10 minutes walk from Marabu meant I was close to the most historic Tango Venue in Bs. As. And Florida and Lavalle Calle shopping promenades made it easy to find anything I needed.Sergio and the rest of the team were very helpful and friendly. They greeted me and helped my get my luggage for a full month up to the 7th floor. And they were equally friendly and supportive when my wife, who doesn’t speak Spanish arrived in the morning two weeks later while I was out practicing for the Mundial.I give this place five stars, but I want to give non city dwellers a few heads up.- you can hear the city at all times of day, sirens, construction, shouting from below. I find it stimulating, but if you are a peace and quiet kind of person, you might want to book further out. That said, I never heard much from other residents, so it seems the residents are respectful of others- historic buildings. This building is historic. At one time, it was the tallest building in Bs. As. The elevators are cage elevators and require hand opening and closing. The plumbing is in need of upgrading, but tolerable. The biggest caution was that the shower was very temperamental. Without careful regulation, you had the option of freezing or scalding. All in all, I love this place and hope to stay here again when I return.
